Improvements for 3rd season
What i found this season lacking was random interactions with your group. What i really liked about first season, is that you could just walk around, chat with people you want to talk with and learn more about them. Second season had only few points where you could do this. This is also the reason why i didnt feel that emotionally attached to new characters, thus their deaths didnt impact me in any way. Twdg season 2 wasnt a game anymore, it was more like a interactive movie and i'd really like Telltale to go back to season 1 gaming mechanics.
Do you guys have any other ideas to improve the game for next season? Share your thoughts.

More character development is one of my most wanted things.
I think they mostly need to work on longer episodes and more character development, other then that they are doing a great job
Not exactly, but I think some of the writing for episodes could be a little better (Like 'No Going Back' that episodes writing was amazing) and overall season 3 has to have a really interesting goal for Clementine to reach.
And no more omids.
Determinant characters mattering at least a little. I don't want determinant characters getting the Nick treatment, only having a few lines and then dying off screen.
longer episodes
Having characters treat you differently across episodes depending on what you did or said to them. This is a huge part of making the player feel like he or she has agency over the world. It was done fantastically in the first season but barely at all in the second. For each of the major characters, I should be able to say "My [Insert character name here] was a jerk" and another person should be able to say "Oh really? Well my [insert character name here] was really nice to me."
^ Agreed it seems like every nice thing I do for someone is not recognised until one choice in the final moments of the game.
Having more group interaction in general is the first step, but I definitely miss having long-term reactions to choices tie into character arcs.
Whether or not the final outcomes of a decision had many differences, the fact that relationships developed and/or deteriorated based on your actions made things feel incredibly dynamic in season one.
As long as this doesn't happen I should be satisfied.
I want them to have more puzzles. I love the new gaming mechanics they introduced in s2 and in Wolf and hope they stick with them for the rest of their games if not improving them. But puzzles is something I want to see more of. Even if they weren't super difficult in s1 it was still cool when you finished one.
The only issue I had with Season 2 was the minimal character development. But other than that, I thought it was fine.
I would like to interact with the characters more so we can learn something about them. Also more hubs would be nice.
More determinant characters like Doug and Carley who have there own mini storyline that you only get to see if you saved them.
-Bring back the beauty of Season 1 with longer hubs to allow more freedom for exploring and interactions with characters for backstory and character development.
-Some determinant characters that can liiiive.
-Difficulty setting for the quick time events to make them harder for the pros.
-An easier save function so a player can pause and save the game that way as well.
-No killing characters off with cheap deaths for shock value.
-Repeat, NO killing characters off with cheap deaths for shock value.
-A season where nearly everybody is NOT dead by the end of it.
-Where loose ends aren't left resolved after the finale [e.g Christa.]
-'We did it for realism' doesn't count >.>
What I want for the next game is a better community.
Okay I agree with your points except the Christa one and the don't have everybody dead by the end one. Not everything needs to be spoon-fed to people. They never said Christa is never coming back, they just said we don't find out about her now yet we can keep asking just in case. Because that's The Walking Dead - and they're right.
Also having a season where everybody is not dead. Will not work. Like I said it's The Walking Dead, that is how the universe simply is. It's never going to change and having a happy ending is rare and sometimes not even fitting into the universe. At best a bitter sweet ending will be the "happiest".
-Hubs
-Character development
-Characters getting killed in a memorable way.Definetly not like Nick.
Eck, I think you misread me. I meant as in not having a whole new cast introduced just to have nearly all of them killed off by the end of that same season. Have you seen the tv series? I know that has more episodes, but some of those guys have survived a couple seasons. You got some that have been there from the start like Daryl, to those that have come in later like Miichonne who are still around as well.
And I don't know, I still miss Christa T_T hoping that lady's okay.
I miss Christa too.
Yes I've watched the television series however I understand what you mean but most people will have to die. Perhaps having a couple stay on will be good, but if so it must be due to your choices.
Yeah, that'd be cool
I was honest with Sarah and taught her how to shoot. I would have liked Clem to have a friend for a while and be able help her get over the loss of her Dad. It would have been nice to have seen her contribute to the group and maybe save some of us with the skills Clem taught her. I could have been ok with her death if Sarah died with a gun in her hand shooting walkers. So... in a long winded way (character development and episodes that are 3-4 hours long each. The return of puzzles and the ability to walk around and talk to people is desperately needed. I really liked the walker herding puzzle in the sewer. I know the puzzles in season 1 were simple but they felt organic to the story/situation. There's my 2 cents.
Your choices to matter.I can skip to the end and it will be no diff.It will be nice if you save someone,to stay more than 1 ep. in the game(ben, nick, carley etc.).More ch. development:if you help they will help.It works perfect in s1 ..in s2 nothing.More puzzles.
If Clementine is the protagonist...
Overall, I thought both season 1 and 2 were fantastic. Generally some of the best writing I have ever seen in games and often outside of games too. The level of narrative and interactivity has largely been spot-on. So improvements? Well here are just a few...
Definitive episode endings.
In season 1 each episode had a conclusion (ep4 being a slight exception leading to the climax). Each episode was like a short story in itself while still being part of the whole story. Season 2, by contrast, didn't feel like it did that. I was a little taken aback when the first episode just ended seemingly randomly. It was a great episode and yet I had this feeling of 'is that it?' before I reminded myself of the great stuff in the episode. I think this contributed to less satisfaction generally and some story criticisms that wouldn't have been there otherwise. Ep3 did have a contained story with an end but even that ended in the middle of the ending. It would be like if ep2 of season 1 ended in the midst of the fight with the St.Johns.
So for season 3 when an episode ends, I'd like that final sigh of satisfaction. A sense of completion while still eager for the next episode. Let each episode be its own episode.
Stronger, narrative ending.
I noticed many reviews of the last couple of season 2 episodes were less positive than others and, with the last episode, I think a massive part of that was the ending. Like the individual episodes, it was just like a place chosen to end it rather than feeling like the end of a particular story. And I think the multiple endings were a mistake. We didn't need it in season 1. The ending is what a story all leads to. A great ending is not disposable or interchangeable or, in Walking Dead language, determinate. I think had there been a single, focused climax and we felt that's where it was all leading to, our view of the season overall would be much more positive.
Any other improvements? Really, I think they're doing such a great job. Even those points above are more along the lines of, you guys had it right already. I'd like smoother performance on my iPad if that counts.
I guess if there was one last thing it would be this: finish it. Give us one big satisfying end (doesn't have to be a happy ending, just satisfying) and then walk away. Leave us wanting more.
Multi seasonal characters no need to slaughter the whole cast besides Clementine every time
