Basically because there was an extremely small amount of people who watched VODs, plus no/less ads played on VODs compared to a livestream. Most Twitch users watched streams live.
Twitch decided that it was a waste of space to keep so many VODs that very few people watched so they decided to delete them. I don't remember or care to find the exact details, but anything older than like a month gets deleted unless the Twitch user selects an option to save it. I think the whole VOD will be saved if a clip is made using a section of the VOD. If I remember correctly, they also now backup each saved VOD on 3 different servers.

I only watched the episode 5 live stream back in July and now I wanted to see the others! Isn't there anyone who uploaded them in youtube or somewhere else ?

if only they had just saved them as a favorite they would still exist
