The fuck is wrong with ___?

I was playing for a second time No Going Back, when I noticed something. If you go with Jane and the family is trying to convince you to let them in, Patricia tries to hold Randy's hand, but he pulls his arm away.

You can see it at 20:18.

I don't know, it just looks fishy. Perhaps Randy, Patricia and Gill aren't all one loving family as they claim. What do you think?

  • I saw this yesterday and I found it strange also that when they come in the girl hugs Jane and thanks her really passionately. Maybe Randy is abusive and is holding them hostage.

  • Randy is not love. Randy is not life.

  • Randy is certainly shadey as hell, that's for sure.

Btw, how could they be a couple and have a black kid? Either Telltale is really bad at this kind of thing or, more likely, he's lying.

  • Ginger Carlos can't be trusted.

  • Maybe they adopted him before/after the apocalypse

  • I found that hug awkward but cute. I didn't get that ending, but I ended up watching it on youtube.

  • That was the reason I didn't let them in. I felt bad for Gill and Patricia because they seemed pretty cool.

I initially had similar questions, but then I realized a few seconds later that AJ is Jane and Clem's now. Forging unorthodox familial bonds with people is a pretty common side effect of the ZA.

That said, Randy DOES seem fishy, and not just because of the gun. It would actually be pretty weird to me if he didn't have that.

  • I honestly thought Patricia was going to stab Jane or something when she started leaping towards her.

  • And both of them will fly away with a unicorn, you forgot to say.

Yeah, didn't really think of that at first. Good call.

  • Mostly I let them in because its what Clem would do. (My) Clem is getting pretty stone-cold, but in the right ways for the right reasons. She'll never stop taking risks to help strangers and friends. She'll only get more and more ruthless in dealing with those that champion the cause of might makes right.

Though I must confess, a small part of it was that there was just no way I could turn away black Duck.

  • I didn't let them in because that seemed suspicious. I thought she was going for the gun, not trying to grab his hand.

  • Maybe Randy just doesn't like to be touched. XD

But seriously, there could be lots of reasons Randy pulled his arm away. When I first saw that scene, I just sorta got the impression he was tired and didn't want to be bothered.

  • They might be a regretful choice of accepting but lets see how this plays out in 2015

He can't possibly have a soul, right?

  • Why is everyone acting like Randy's automatically the bad guy? Maybe Patricia did something terrible to him. Maybe she cheated on him. You never know...

  • While we're discussing about the kid, I already know that he couldn't be related to due Randy's shady excuse using him to get inside, and not telling Gill to hurry up when Patricia and Randy were leaving if you reject them. Patricia doesn't seem to care about Gill either, so it's safe to assume they're all just survivors. And while I assume that he's lying to get inside the warehouse, I do hope people won't attempt to bond with him. Randy's shade is slimmer than Eminem's.

  • Yeah, they look super shady but I dont think Randy is holding them hostage. Playing a "family" is most likely a mutually beneficial arrangement. Patricia and Gill stay with him for protection, and Randy gets to look more sympathetic to outsiders.

  • All that's shown is Randy being shady. There is no reason to assume it goes any deeper at this point unless you just want to blame a woman.

  • All he did was jerk away from her in frustration at her saying they should just leave, Given the stuff our group does in ep 5 thats hardly the worst thing anyone could do

  • Don't even try to associate Jane with Molly.

I'm not blaming anyone. A bunch of people in this thread are assuming that Randy is some kind of abusive jerk or a kidnapper etc. I am only pointing out that there isn't enough information to make such claims. This has nothing to do with gender...

  • Apparently jerking your arm away is enough to make you an abusive kidnapper these days lol.

  • Randy is new Kenny!

  • There isn't enough information for their claims regarding Randy and there is no information for your claims about Patricia.

  • True, like Rick supporting Lori even after she cheated. He didn't need to be nice but he still got shelter for her and the kids
