How about a Jane prequel DLC?
First off - this could easily devolve into a J Vs. K debate (yet again), but let's try to not make it so. To ensure this, how about we just - for this thread - simply don't talk about Kenny. And if someone brings him up, we don't reply. Love him, hate him, be indifferent to him - it's not relevant in this thread
Now then, on to the point of the thread:
Let's say TellTale were to put out a Jane prequel DLC - to tie us over until season 3. I realise that this would be a somewhat stupid DLC, given that she's dead in a lot playthroughs, but humour me.
The DLC would obviously have us either playing as Jane or as her sister (quite creepy knowing that you'll die at the end), and would possibly be made in 3 parts:
- The outbreak - what happened when it all started, where was she.
- Her group - we know she was with a group at some point earlier. We know something about a guy stuck under a car, but it would be interesting with details and more about this.
- Her time alone with her sister. We have a rough idea of how it ended, but we don't really have any details, and we don't know how it all played out. Let us see?
Would you be interested in playing it - why/why not? Perhaps you simply feel Jane is uninteresting (if she's dead in your playthrough that might be a valid reason), maybe you can't stand the sight of her (a valid reason I'd say), or maybe you're just too poor to care about DLC :P
Also, do you have other (interesting) ideas for DLC?
I'll start off by saying that I myself would find it interesting (would be a pretty crazy post to make, if I myself thought it was a brain dead idea). It would answer a lot of questions and give us many more details about her. I'd be pretty interested in seeing a fleshed out story of how she went from a normal girl (assuming she was this at the outbreak) to the loner/isolationist we meet in season 2.

Well, it wouldn't be fair if Jane gets a DLC and Kenny does not. Your overall idea is still pretty cool I guess. I'd rather have a DLC about the cabin group. We hardly got to know them before they were all slaughtered.
Sure, though I'm kind meh on prequels
I prefer something that builds on the story we have had thus far or something whole new like the 400 days.
You're right. Prequels can be a bit "meh".
Maybe something a Wellington DLC? Although that might be a bit too "400 days"-like...
Even though it wouldn't even be during the apocalypse, i'd love playing as Lee when he finds out his wife is cheating.
It'd be cool playing as Luke for a short time. Maybe we'd get to see some machete action. XD
I remember someone mentioned a "9 Days" DLC where we play through the 9 days between them leaving the rest stop and making it to where ever. I think it would solidify the bond with whomever we were with in the end and also flesh out how strong Clementine will be on her own if she was left alone with AJ in the end.
That could be pretty cool![:) :)](https://community.telltale.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Thank you.
I think it'd be a good idea, especially if Clem might not be the playable character in Season 3, we'd get to spend a lot of good moments with Kenny or Jane or AJ.
I would freaking love this because I have a crush on Jane
It would be nice to get some character bonding without worrying that they'd be shock value killed a scene after it :P Like a nice difference before S3 makes us depressed
I like the idea for a Jane DLC, but there are large amount of fans who don't like Jane, so I doubt that would ever happen.
Exactly. I won't be buying Season 3 if Clem is the protagonist again. I love Clem, but I can't handle a whole nother season of getting to know other survivors and just losing them all. And I can't handle her losing the one person she might actually care about anymore, be it Kenny or Jane.
Like split between Kenny escaping Savannah to the lodge with Sarita, Matt and Walt? It could be both of the new guardian's backstories in one or two DLCs
I hope Telltale have learned from S2. It's amazing but please no more shock value writing. It wasn't as bad with Doug and Carley narratively, it was the first time arguably in the story that no character is safe. Omid took some getting over in S2 but again it's not too bad because it's like setting the tone, we'd been on breaks for a while and it reminded us no character is safe. Then they do it more with Reggie, Carlos, Nick, Sarah and Luke ;/ To the point it's like they're beating us over the head like "This is so edgy" we get it, it's becoming grating if we're told that each ep, characters should get more than that now they've explained the no safe rule
That's an awesome idea actually.
At this point, I can't see it getting any worse. Oh, Clementine dies in the end? Oh, okay, now Clementine is dead. Oh, Kenny or Jane are dead oh, okay, looks like we lost the last person we actually care about/attached too. How much can they make this little girl go through before she becomes total void of emotions and feelings? At that point, there's no point in continuing her story arc because it won't get any better.
I'm surprised she isn't already like Becca. I'd like more of Clem but S2 at least gives her nice finale scenes in case a new character is the PC.Kind of torn, I just don't want Clem to go through so many guardian/mentor characters that they feel obsolete. She's already had Lee, Christa, Luke, Jane and Kenny, I'd like it if she sticks with them or doesn't have a guardian again because they'd feel like redshirts, makes them feel less unique also
Lol, Redshirts. XD That's the perfect way to describe everything character in the series. I wouldn't mind playing Season 3 with Clem if her partner (Kenny or Jane) survives till the end or has a absolutely meaningful death, but if they die in the first ten min or in the first two episodes even, I'm out.
Thankies, it'd make sales imo
Huge war on here would have most people snatching the DLC
