New Protagonist for Season 3

I know a lot of people like Clem and all, but I would like if she but be the deutergonist again. I would like to play someone like Carver a leader of a community (maybe Wellington). Clem is getting a bit boring to play as. Hate on! :)

  • I personally want to play Clem again.

And I totally respect that, but I would like to have more diversity.

    Season 1: Lee

    Season 2: Clem

    Season 3: ?

  • She can still get character development as deutergonist. I liked her way more in season 1. :(

Yea Clem's done..... Jokes no way man If she doesn't get at least one more season I will be pissed, I haven't played as her through 2 seasons of character development for her to just get dumped...

  • It´s just my opinion, but I don´t like change for the sake of diversity. I prefer continuity.

But I want to control her and keep on defining her as a character and I can't do that if she is a secondary character.. It would seem like a downgrade. I wouldn't even care about the guy I am playing as just if Clem's ok so they might as well just remove that layer and give me control of her.

  • Id rather play as christa or someone else, clem can be in it and we can actually see her develop again but her character is just dead if were controlling her. All of her character has just gone

  • I don't care who we play as, if Clem doesn't even make an appearance, I wouldn't mind, so long as the story they tell next season is a good one.

  • Lee sacrifice himself, for the safety of AJ O.O WOW.

Seriously though, Clem is the best bet for season 3.

  • If they do that watch how shit the new protagonist will be.. everyone will be begging for Clem back and saying season 2 was the last "true" season of the walking dead I can see it now...

  • Telltale always make good ones. do not worry. With or without Clem the story is always good even though the fate of Clem is left unknown.

  • So just like this season then.... People hate anything new and always say the old is better. For me the protagonist is never intresting as In just see them as myself in that situation and how I would react for example i know Lee and clem are 100% safe till ep 5 I always become more interested in the more minor/side characters who are actually in danger

  • True, but I just hope some of the things that went awry this season are fixed. Something like Nick's death don't happen again. Or the shootout scene, that was a big "because the plot demands it" moment, Buricko and Vitali switch guns and positions, the baby is on the ground for no reason, none of our group members die and we're forced to kill Arvo's sister so he can hate us.

  • Its not that.. Its just that I have known these characters for almost 3 years now... thats a long time... Clementine has been there from the beginning, it just doesn't seem right if they swat her from the series. I simply do no give a rats ass for a new protagonist..

  • The shootout wasn't like that though. Group encounters like that happen in TWDG

  • You have to admit though, a lot of odd things happened, Buricko and Vitali switching weapons, the baby was suddenly on the ground at the beginning of the episode when in the previous one he was in Rebecca's lap. Not to mention that our group all clustered together in episode 4 and then in episode 5 we're all spread out and not a single one of us was shot, it was a bit unbelievable.

  • Long Life Clementine.

    Right, @Hazzer?

But if it must be someone else, Bigby Wolf is fine too.

  • My main preference is Clementine, but Telltale screwed themselves over by giving her multiple endings. My second choice would be Christa.

  • Oh that :o I agree on all that :3 I like the shootout but yeah, that was all very unlike TWDG, all the firing in the cliffhanger, yet everyone teleported to cover and Buricko and Vitali did an Army of Two ish weapon swap, also it seemed like more rocks and walls were there to hide behind in Ep5, but I haven't played Ep4 in ages, unsure

Well, personally I prefer if Clem remains the main character for season 3 because The Walking Dead is her story since season 1, and any other protagonist could felt cheat.

Besides, Clem is love, Clem is life.

  • Clementine must be the protagonist again!

Clem is love, clem is life! :D

  • How about after a time skip Clementine gets amnesia that way we can still play as her, but she can have a new personality and feel like a new character (stupid answer to a stupid topic)

  • I've said this a lot and I'll say it again as my take on this whole thing. This game is her story, she is The Walking Dead, just like Arnold Schwarzenegger is The Terminator.

Sometimes you know as sad is it may be, that a story is up. Clementines story however feels like it's only just starting. It feels like it has so much life left. I know it might be difficult with the way season 2 ended, but why bother going to all this trouble to build a character up for two seasons, and than piss it away just starting with a new story?

  • I'm all about that!

  • You can't have her in the story and not be the playable character. There's no one important enough to takeover, not Jane, not Kenny, not even if Lee were to magically reappear he's still not more important than Clem. So if they did do that then it would just be exactly the same thing as season 1.

There's only 2 options that would make sense.

    1. Make entirely new characters and a new story and never see Clem again. (Too early to do that IMO, maybe after season 3, we'll see)
    2. Continue playing as Clem (My Pick)

Another thing is that Clem didn't get a strong enough send off IMO. No going back was amazing probably the best episode ever.
But it wasn't CLEM'S episode. It was basically the Kenny and Jane show. Plus there's too much stuff still to do with her character. That's an advantage of playing as a kid.
