Dealing with Clem's new baggage in season 3

AJ. What to do about AJ? You guys and girls have kids? Carrying a new born baby is one thing. Carrying around a 7 month old is a whole other story. Those things get big really quickly and long before they can run well on their own. The reality of caring for a growing baby in that environment is pretty horrifying. And then the toddler years? Yikes.

A settled ideal community like Wellington is just about the only option for a baby. Even Carver's community would seem to have been a smarter choice. Out on the road? A baby either won't last or it will become a very dangerous liability very quickly. If they fast forwarded a couple of years, every choice in season 3 would be [CALL AJ] [TELL AJ TO HURRY UP] [STOP AJ FROM PLAYING WITH DEAD THINGS] [TELL AJ NOT TO PUT THAT IN HIS MOUTH] and so on.

So taking the story on a few months and given the jumping off points from season 2...purely speculating here, what would you do with AJ?

  • I doubt you will play as AJ. As Clem getting into wellington is probably the canon ending and the end of her journey.
You probably plays as Kenny hopeful.

  • If the game ever gives me option to leave Aj behind, i will do it asap.

  • That's why I really want the story of Clementine to continue. There are many interesting new opportunities for her story. One being that she is only 11, raising a kid while growing up and going through puberty. That is something that I don't think has ever been done in a game before.

  • The Clem story is over. She found safe haven. period.

  • He's determinant, so likely not. :/

  • The adventures of a preteen mum. Stay tuned.

  • Err, are you oblivious to the fact that 4 of the endings involve her not in a "safe haven" and the fact that Kenny is a determinate character?

  • im pretty sure Telltale will pick a canon ending and the most emotional best written ending is picking Kenny and taking AJ to wellington saying goodbye to Kenny sob sob

  • Maybe AJ will be a little badass like this kid. Then it'll be Clem who's the baggage.

I would dump him on the first person i could. He would probably end up dead with me.

  • I don't know if they would do that. It would render our choices meaningless if they made one a 'real' ending and others not.

  • It's also to possible to just do another large timeskip were all endings intersect into one to begin Season 3. If they do do that, it doesn't make sense to heavily involve a determinate character like Kenny.

A compulsory crossroads intersection with the endings, may annoy a few people heavily, but not me personally. I play the game purely because of how great I think the overall story is. The choices having "No-Impact" doesn't bother me in the slightest... although I'm probably in the minority on that one haha.

  • Keeping the kid is the right thing to do even though I want to forsake him. Well remember Lee and Christa, guy?

  • He's talking about the Wellington ending.

  • They need to either have her find a safe place to be or do a massive time skip or both. I agree that there is no way in hell she could be traveling around with that baby and expect to stay alive.

  • No... He is implying that there is a cannon ending and its the one he prefers.

  • No, I'm completely with you on that and it took the ending of season 2 to really have me believe it. I'd far rather Telltale wrote the one ending they think will make for the best game and stick with it. I'm not sure all that much good came from the multiple endings compared with the experience we all got from the end of season 1. I love the choices in the games and how they change side elements but I'd like Telltale to control the central narrative.

  • You have no idea what Wellington is like. I wouldnt ever go search for such place, because of lack of evidence. AND i would never go with mentally unstable and violent person for a 9 day trip in to the north, without having supplies and warm clothing and having a fucking baby with me.

i agree i want TT to pick a canon ending preferable the ending with Kenny and Clem and the baby going to wellington that scene still brings tears to my eyes.

  • ya hiding the baby is a better reaction. and leaving with someone you dont trust that can turn on you any minute or even abandon you is the better choice....

  • Its going to be interesting because al, this cannon ending talk I think is null and void...i think we will end up on our own with AJ no mater what, neither ending will work out imo and then we start the story for S3, im really looking forward to AJ's story in this and clem protecting him..

Wasnt a fan of S2 but I'm so looking forward to S3, if they time skip (I think they have to tbh.. just adding cut scenes to bring all ending together) that's gona make clem 13/14 and AJ 2... we meet crista again and boooom happy ever after...........ok maybe not but its gona be epic :D

  • Nevertheless, it was there. Well fortified, well stocked. But what kind of craziness might be going on inside, we don't know. Doesn't hugely matter as the point is, right now, there is no reason to take a single ending as canon over the others. We've got several jump off points.

But if the writers wanted to get rid of AJ without it being a miserable death, Wellington would seem like a good way to do it.

  • Ohhh no, I agree with the reality of the situation, but I couldn't abandon the little guy, hes probably the only good thing to come of S2 for me...

Hes the character I bonded with most out of everyone, I love the little guy.. plus hes my reason for surviving...

Not all of us see survival as something worthy in off itself, AJ is a reason for some of us.

Don't short_stack. Zykelator is known to only see "Jane."

  • I never cared about to baby, so thats that. Why do you think Jane would betray Clementine? She is the only reason Jane came back and she even risked her life so save Clem from the water.
