I dont want to nitpick but....
the baby ate no food, it would have died by now and you cant feed them any solid food only milk. infact non the people ever ate any food how is that even possible?

They had baby formula they took from Carver´s.
They probably fed him and themselves off screen.
Exactly , we didn't see the characters poop either. But that doesn't mean they didn't poop.
It's not, there's no way they had enough food for so many people, not on their own like that, especially when Clem and Kenny where alone with AJ, but I don't go nitpicking in this game, there are lots of unrealistic things in it, the story is the main focus so flaws like that shrink.
Got to admit, I was thinking this exact same thing. They eventually mention the food and show Clem with a bottle and I thought, did I miss where this was established? I may well have but for so long I was thinking, I must write to the devs and explain how babies work. They need food a LOT.
Keeping a newborn baby alive is a bit more of a relevant plot point though. Under the circumstances, it's a pretty important detail.
We don't want 10 extra minutes of feeding AJ footage.
No but tackling it right away would have been a good idea. Then it would have been established. It was one of those moments where I was thinking, why is nobody mentioning this? And that sort of takes you out of the game. I felt the same when nobody talked about the dudes with the torches in the lodge. Some points are important enough to at least be acknowledged and, when it comes to keeping a baby alive in those conditions, I think food is one of them especially given the importance placed on finding the adults food in both seasons.
Offscreen.
It was offscreen , they wanted to progress quickly.
Actually seeing how short the episode was, spending some more time with AJ and feeding him wouldn't be so bad.
Maybelle Confirmed for Season 3
We did see Clem holding a baby bottle in the unfinished house so they were feeding him up until then. What happened in the 9 days before the epilogue, I dont know.
I would have enjoyed it. 30 seconds to a minute of watching Clem tenderly feeding the baby would have been cute and a nice bit of juxtapose.
The group goes long time without food. Yet they maintain their shape.
They should be as skinny as marathon runners. If you don't have calories to burn, your body will use muscle
Nobody seemed particularly short of food except for a few days. Even in ep2 of season 1, they seemed to only be rationing for a couple of days which wouldn't affect shape much. A baby needs to feed every two hours though so that's a little different.
i prefer the approach of not wasting valuable game time on mundane things like that. obviously they are going to eat their food when they can and it shows on screen sometimes but its not something i care about enough to take away from what really matters, the story
Yep, it could have been done to great effect. A moment of nurturing in the midst of this pretty horrific scenario. Especially heartbreaking given that AJ's chances of survival were pretty damn slim.
A brand new born baby needing to be kept alive and protected in a scenario like that is hardly mundane though. Food was enough of a plot point to be brought up multiple times for the adults. A baby needing to feed just hours or days after being born is a far more immediate problem, especially as a hungry crying baby is loud and would attract walkers. It's not the same as watching a bunch of people eat breakfast silently. It was a plot opportunity and a big enough deal to at least warrant a mention from a character early on. The moment Rebecca dies, that baby is on a clock. That's life or death, not mundane.
I agree, a baby needs immediate care and it didnt look like we saw them do much except carry the baby around, yet he hardly ever cried.
My take on it was that they did supply runs that we just didn't see. They kind of had to if you wait for a couple days after the baby was born to leave the birthing place. They had water, but no food.
Trying to figure out how to feed the baby was a concern during the episode though. Where did they find the food? Was it in the backseat of the car? Under a tree? Sitting in the middle of the road? How did they randomly find baby food?!
These are the details, man. The details.
I guess...
Honestly I was thinking the same thing like
1. Lee never ask to us d the bathroom in season 1
2. Clementine only ask to use the bathroom once in s1
3. none of the other characters on s1 asked expect for Clem
so I'm on your point
Baby food would not be easy to come by, especially given that they seemed to be out in the middle of nowhere. I guess the idea that they got some from Carver's place makes some sense but it is a big question. Might be one of those things you only know if you've had kids. Our first kid didn't feed well and first night home we ended up out searching for formula at 3 in the morning because she was screaming the place down. Those things are noisy. They generally aren't the quiet happy little bundles that AJ was.
I had assumed these difficulties were likely factors in why Christa's baby didn't survive, which is why if felt like a gaping hole when nobody brought up how they would feed AJ when Rebecca died.
Although I understand your point about the baby's condition being a focal point through episode 5 they did have a few moments discussing that food was running low for him and where the best place for him should be. They fed him off screen with what little food they had just like characters using the bathroom or just having some down time as you can tell through the season we are not with the group every second. If you can't be satisfied with this answer then you are going to be very disappointed, because the season is over and Telltale can't do anything more to show you that baby is being taken care of.
Clementine breast fed AJ, how else?
But Clem doesn't have breast tho ..
not all breasts have milk...../facepalm
duh... I said Clementine not Kenny.... Sssssheeesh
Maybe Bonnie stocked up on baby formula and food before helping the group escape(She also apparently took the rum from the armory before escaping with the group too.)
Then Kenny said that they only had enough milk for Alvin Jr to last one day.
So I'm not sure how Alvin Jr survived the next 9 days.
