Multiversal Clementines
Hey i just came up with a crazy question
You know how telltale bases all games on choices ( even if about 60% change nothing big). You know whats the BIGGEST change characters status (dead , alive , good, bad) wether its Clems or another character. So the've invertedly created a intire Multiverse ( parallel universes and stuff) . And i was thinking about it when the question hit me.
How would your Clem react to another universes Clem who made other choices? ( say one got Alvin killed in A House Divided and the other saved him)
Would she see her as better version or worse
would they be friends or enemies
And remember the other Clem made choices yours did not agree with
So how would she react?

That's actually a pretty interesting question. My Clem would probably be annoyed at the more naive/completely moral based versions of Clem. Not enemies or anything but my Clem doesn't hesitate to do certain things and might find that hesitation in other Clems irritating.
Interasting
Also Thanks for commenting
No problem, buddy!
Here have a like for being the first ( and so far only ) commenter here
Oh, thank you, have a like too!
My canon nice Clem would see my ruthless Clem as a monstrous sociopath that's no better than Carver. Whereas my ruthless Clem would see the nice Clem as a naive liability who needs to learn that there's no right and wrong anymore only survival. They would be at each other's throats the entire time and they would be absolutely antagonistic to each other. One thing they would have in common though is the complete bewilderment at the Clem who was so shocked at the death of Lee that she's never talked since lol.
And who in your opinion would win Nice Clem or Ruthless Clem ?
I just blew your mind din't i?
Great question! My --ice cold yet good-hearted and principled-- "Rick" Clem would treat --naive and wholly moral-- "Dale" Clem in much the same way she treated Sarah. They'd be great friends although they wouldn't always see eye-to-eye and my Clem would probably view her as a little bit weak.
--Survival at any and all cost for me and mine-- "Shane" Clem she would have a much harder time with, and may eventually come to the point where she felt justified in killing her, whether out of neccessity or a sense of justice depending on how egregious or inhumane "Shane" Clem's --might makes right-- attitude and behaviors became. If that became the case, My Clem would be unlikely to hesitate in doing so.
EDIT/POSTSCRIPT: "Rick" Clem is my canon one. I usually just go with "my" but a few other posts appeared while I was writing, and this conversation does seem better served by that particular verbiage.
I wanna say nice Clem because that's who I relate to more but it would be my ruthless one. Nice Clem wouldn't be able to find it on her to defeat her ruthless counterpart and ruthless Clem would be willing to do whatever it takes to beat nice Clem.
My canon Clem tries to keep her morals high, and does what she thinks it best, she would probably be disappointed with the ruthless/survivalist Clems. Also this is the most interesting thread I have read in awhile.
My Clem would have been disgusted at how your Clem so impulsively chopped off Sarita's hand without any second thought.
My Clem would have been horrified that your Clem found a comfortable justification to shooting Kenny, a longtime friend from the beginning of the end days.
My Clem would be terrified of your Clem, one that had stole medical supplies at gunpoint and aimed a pistol at a family after refusing to accept them into a sanctuary.
Wow thanks
My Clementine is a in the middle of being naive and being a sociopath. So I think ruthless and naive Clem would both be somewhat irritated with her.
I'm thinking along these lines now and wondering where the first crucial branch in the multiverse might have occured. I think it must have been at the St. John's. "Dale" Clem's Lee makes it down the stairs a bit quicker than I actually did and proceeds to show the St. Johns mercy. He also can't bring himself to saltlick Larry.
"Shane" Clem's Lee makes almost identical decisions but is much more callous about it. Very "So you ate a guy.Big fucking deal." and "Yeah, I killed 'em. I'd do it again. Why am I explaining myself to a stupid kid?" and "Shut up with the sobbing and bitchery, Lilly! I made the call, now deal with it and get that bullshit out of my ears!"
So "Shane" Lee was a BIG friend of Kenny's choices in season 1
Heres a Hopefull Thought
Maybe Alternate Luke will see Alernate Nick and realize he could have been saved by Clementine ( Nice Clem would probably explain it)
Then they only have to deal with Alternate Kenny and Alternate Jane
So i actialy think Ruthless Clem would have the upperhand at first but Nice Clems friends especialy Nice Kennny and Nice Jane would probably stop her ( why does this sound like it should be an amzing fanfic?)
Wow this is a very interesting thread. Its really hard for me to say but I guess my Clem would look down on anyone who was rude or obnoxious to someone who didn't deserve it. Also, she would look down on people who killed Kenny with no second thought, despite him being a long time friend.
Wow thanks for the appreciation for this thread![:) :)](https://community.telltale.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Actually, "Rick/canon" Lee got along with him a little better because he would side with Kenny from time to time about the lesser things out of a sense of loyalty to his best post-apocalyptic friend more than anything else. Kenny was pretty upset when "Shane" Lee told him to give up on the stupid boat. "Shane" Lee also wasn't terribly sympathetic about how to proceed with the whole Duck issue.
I didn't actually base the playthroughs on characters from the shows. I just thought it a fairly easy and accurate analogy for the general archetypes in making my point.
No don't worry i got that
It was a nice analogy though![:) :)](https://community.telltale.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Right on. I figured you had. I mainly point it out because actual Rick almost never goes along to get along. Something "Rick" Lee does often when his desire not to strain relationships outweighs how strongly held his opinion is.
Welcome to Bioshock Infinite.
Right
Hey you know the more i think about it......this should be a fanfic
Think about it Clem from universe A somehow Finds portal to universe B then the whole group goes throught and they meet this worlds group. Then insert Plot From that episode of Sliders that aparently im the only one who likes ( Exodus part 2)
And they spend the rest of the fanfic going to other universes to avenge "insert beloved character here" by "taking care of" "insert evil character who kills beloved character and becomes murderous and psychotic here"
Yeah that would 100% be awesome
Basicaly Bioshock infinate or Sliders ( that show that was amazing but no one remembers)
I remember. 8D
WOW ANOTHER SLIDERS FAN YESSSSSSSSSSSS
You have got to be kidding me, I actually had a dream recently about exactly this sort of thing happening, anyway it went something like this:
I was (or rather the dream version of myself) in a forest just strolling through it and out of nowhere I stumbled upon 2 versions of Clementine (empathic and ruthless) fighting while a third one just watched the other two fight, my immediate reaction was to break up that fight (which I somehow managed to do), then I said something along the lines of " You don't need to fight, I love you all regardless of what you have chosen to do" and then I proceeded to just hug them, which coincidentally is how that dream ended.
At first I had no idea as to why two different versions of Clementine would be fighting, however it became apparent once I thought about it later, it all comes down to a choice between humanity and survival.
Do you choose humanity? Even though you are likely to not live as long?
Or do you rather selfishly chose survival? If so why did you want to survive again?
Frankly one who chose humanity is probably going to be disgusted by what someone who chose survival is capable of doing in order to achieve just that, survival. And on the other hand one who chose survival above all else is going to feel like a person who chose humanity is just weak and incapable of doing "the hard things" in order to survive.
I want to ask you this, who is going to be remembered by others in the end?
Humanity i think
As far as I am concerned then you are right, if you do enough good things for people it is pretty likely they are going to return the favor and maybe even save you further down the line.
To be honest though I would prefer if you would elaborate a bit on your answer, to give some reasons as to why you think so, also it would be nice to know what you think about the rest of what I said.
Thanks in advance.
Well lets see its 1: 29 were i am but ill try
Im preatty sure that if too alternate Clems ( Humanity and Survival) along with their groups ever faced each other there are a number of reasons to why Humanity would win:
1 Humanity will automaticaly have more people ( Nick for example) to fight for her while Clem will be stuck with Luke, Kenny and Jane
2 The Luke from the Survival Clem universe will see Nick and several others alive and would eventualy realise the reason for them being dead in his universe is Survival Clem the he will no doubt switch sides
3 While Survival Clem would probably beat Humanity Clem in fight ( as she is compleatly Ruthless and dishonorable) and probably cheat ( Shoot Humanity Clem in the arm or something) Humanity Clems friends ( along with the other Luke) would no doubt rescue her in time
So yeah Humanity Clem does have a BIG chance of winning
As to your dream i think it was good of you to stop the Clems fighting ( even though one of them probably killed/injured you to use as a sheild or hostage)
And i think the 3 Clem is just the one who din't talk at all ( Traumatized over Lee's death Clem)
Witch is better Survival or Humanity?
Well that an interasting question as it might suprise you but some people want Clem to be alone ( witch she has DEFINITIVELY been good at). Some fans even wondered why there wasent a "Leave the Baby" choice well here is the answer IF THE BABY DIED SHE WOULD HAVE NO POINT IN LIVING
I know that souds harsh but it's true
Think about it Clem leaves the baby then what she joins a walker horde or something lives for a few days amd becomes an expert survivor
But then she stops one day and REALLY thinks "whats the point anymore" no really
To live for Lee? Well sorry if i don't belive for ONE SECOND the Lee would approve of this Clem
She herself would see that one day and you know what she would do ....... Yeah im not even going to type something so horrible
So in the end yeah Humanity is always better
And thanks for being so polite![:) :)](https://community.telltale.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Your Clementine would detest mine because she did all of those choices, haha.
this is actually a pretty good question, thanks OP!!!! we need more threads like these![:) :)](https://community.telltale.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Depends completely on which version of Clem she's encountering.
My Clem is a realist who tries her best to help people and genuinely cares about others, however she's determined and confident when things need to be done. She tries not to lie... pretty much ever... When another person crosses the murdering bastard line (person A tried to murder person B, or what not) then she's wants them dead, is all around ruthless, and is cold as ice.
She might be a bit quick to forgive people so long as she doesn't think they've murdered with intent.
So... which version is she running into? It really just depends.
What might freak her out, I guess, is if she runs into a Clementine with a blue hat :O
If the entirety of human history has anything to say about it humanity "is" survival, only smarter. There's a reason that we are the way we are. It helps us survive.
Yeah but hes talking about survival by doing moraly dark things
Example Seeing Nick as a liability and making Walter kill him
In the end she loses part of herself
Wow thanks
Wow EVERYONE keeps telling me that is it really betterm that the others?
Well most people have been answering by making her meet her absolute oposite ( the one that either made EVERY other choice or just most of the other choices)
