It could be that she left her hat and radio for Lee to find as a way to let him know that she was gone. That we don't know. We do know that from her side of the story she says she ran away.

In the game, I never said to Clementine that her parents are dead. I have always been hopeful to Clementine that we find their parents, but I knew it that her parents are dead.
Clem's parents caused Lee's death. If they hadn't given birth to Clem, lived around Georgia, gone to somewhere else and left Clem with the b… moreabysitter, or they had died before shit hit the fan, Lee won't die~

It's cannon, at least, that Clem can tell Luke that she ran away, for whatever reason.
I'll also add that with many options Clem is clearly suffering from this. She clearly feels responsible for Lee's dying, and for me, what made those scenes so touching, is that she's right about it being her fault, at least from my point of view, and I can relate... not specifically to getting somebody killed, but I can relate to looking back at decisions I made when I was young and stupid and fully understanding some of the pain I've caused to others.

Just saying if she didn't have the walkie lee m\ay have left the house or got bitten by the babysitter. So clem would either have died of starvation or got bitten herself and she didn't get to hershells farm because they will be bitten too (but because lee and clem helped push the carwreck out of the way they all could escape capice)

Alternatively, he could have become cold toward her, deprived her of his affection, etc. That passive aggressive behavior might seem trivial, but it can be severe strongly displayed and/or over a long period of time.
