How would Nick react.
Hi, I've been working a bit on a fanfic featuring Nick and Sarah in episode 4 and 5 of s2.
It's my first time writing slight AU so I wanted to ask other people how they think Nick would react during episode 5 in case he could survive the whole way through and the same type of events happen.
The main situations I want your opinions on are these:
- When the group decide to let Arvo lead them to the house.
- The camp fire.
- Luke on the ice.
- Kenny working on the car and where the group should go.
- How he would react to Jane's death.
My idea is to work him into the storyline that eventually leads to Wellington, I want him to be slightly more agreeable towards Kenny than Mike is and more opposed to Arvo but without any sort of bias that would make him directly opposed to Jane. I'd like to not influence him with my own bias since he's not my character.
(I personally felt like Nick and Kenny was getting around to each other in episode 3 but i guess that's just me)
I'm not too concerned about Sarah, I'm pretty sure about how to write her.
Thanks

Well most of the death were so bazare and I wish they did just a little bit more dramatic one instead example : Luke's death was when he could breath under water
What?
I think if he'd survived he would have jumped into the water to save Luke, but end up being grabbed by one of the walkers and drowning.
So you think he would take Luke's place?
•When the group decide to let Arvo lead them to the house.
I think he'd agree with Luke, like he usually does.
•The camp fire.
He'd share a drink with Luke, possibly commenting on the whiskey he shared with Clementine if asked (determinate).
•Luke on the ice.
He'd go after Luke as well, but would have more sense that Bonnie to get that close. He would be at a loss of what to do. He would later refrence what he said in ep 2 (determinate) or mention thinking that way. "We're just gonna match to some other place and someone else will die."
•Kenny working on the car and where the group should go.
He would think Wellington would be a bad idea after the death of Luke and agree to go somewhere else.
•How he would react to Jane's death.
This one I'm not quite sure of. Nick hasn't been around Kenny or Jane long enough for me to think something up about one of their deaths. Although I'm quite sure he'd respect Clem's decision of shooting Kenny or letting him kill Jane (I don't think he'd be ok with Clem shooting Kenny afterwards, however).
Nick would be a bit wary, and suspicious of Arvo and siding with Kenny and not trusting him as much. Kenny would say something like "You should listen to your friend here, at least he seems to have some god-damned sense" (Obviously speaking about Nick).
The camp fire scene he'd be pretty happy with Clementine and everyone, and perhaps he would explain how he and Luke met.
Nick would be devastated at Lukes death on the ice, but would NEVER be mad at Clementine for whatever she chose to do. Nick would perhaps tell Clementine that he was really proud of her, and remark at the argument they had in the kitchen when she arrived. You could include a scene where Nick tells Clem he's going to kill himself, but Clementine convinces him not to and they promise to stick together as the last members of the cabin group.
Nick would mostly rely on Clementine for what Kenny suggests about where they go, and if Clementine suggests Wellington then Nick will agree which pleases Kenny further with him.
Nick would react quite shocked at what happens, and possibly be overwhelmed remarking about how everything turned bad. However he will be immensely overjoyed they found AJ.
((If you choose to go with Kenny, change the AU slightly where they can accept children but only one adult - Kenny would make sure Nick goes and even give Nick his hat, and makes sure Nick promises to "raise her right" - This would possibly help Nick cope, as he plays the role of Uncle Pete now to Clementine)).
((If you choose not to go with Kenny and only Nick, then the two should head back to the cabin and clear it up. They both look out the window where Clementine and Sarah looked out of during Episode Two when Carver left the cabin. Nick exclaims "Do you think this will work?" and Clementine looks back holding the baby simply saying "Yeah" and it ends there)).
I think he's saying: "Well most deaths in this season were bazare and I wish they did it more dramatic like Luke's death when he drowns underwater"
Good points, I hadn't thought about the whiskey.
Any points besides that you think I should consider? Anything helps![:) :)](https://community.telltale.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Actually my idea for the ending with Kenny would be that Nick agrees with Kenny that Clementine, Sarah and AJ go to Wellington, saying: "Don't worry Clem, I'll look after your old man." and try to help convince Sarah that staying is what Carlos wanted.
I'm still not sure if I'm gonna leave with them or stay, those things usually come ot me as I write them.
Oh that's fine, even better actually.![:D :D](https://community.telltale.com/resources/emoji/lol.png)
((If you choose to Stay with them, then Sarah exclaims she's staying too showing that she is growing a bit more fiercer and brave with her choices, as well as wanting to stick by Clementine. They also all have a race up the hill to Wellington)).
((If you choose to Leave, Sarah nods and seems sad but Clementine takes her hand and they walk into Wellington together with AJ as the gates close and they see both Nick and Kenny walk away)).
If Clem covered Luke, when Bonnie tells Clem all that bullshit about not doing anything, Nick will overhear the conversation and tell Bonnie off, claiming she helped the group when they needed it the most. He could refrence anything from saving Pete/himself, her saving Alvin in ep 2 (determinate), saving Sarah (determinate), going after AJ in the gunfight (determinate), or even telling Bonnie the truth about Luke (determinate). I put so many determinates so it can be similar to when Bonnie asks Clem if there's anything she regrets, which have 5 different responses, all but one being determinate.
If Clem helped Luke, Nick will be slightly angry, realizing she caused the ice to break. He will later forgive her, realizing the several things above.
Enjoy, I might have more ideas later![:) :)](https://community.telltale.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Those are good ones. I actually like the idea of Nick ranting at Bonnie xD
Yeah, something like that![:) :)](https://community.telltale.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Ah, okay![:p :p](https://community.telltale.com/resources/emoji/tongue.png)
"Hey fuck you, buddy!"
Damn I miss Nick after reading these comments.
That's why I wanted to write this. I've never really been a fan of AU myself, but I just felt like Nick and Sarah had more potential, plus I was sad that the cabin group essentially was meaningless.
Reaction to Jane's death.
nick: -high fives Kenny- FUCK YEAH!
I did the same, from a fan and writing perspective they were just discarded with lazy writing
"Jesus, I can't handle this." - Nick
Seriously though:
Letting Arvo join the group - Nick would disagree with it but wouldn't directly join in with Kenny's violence.
Campfire - More stories about his and Luke's backstory and possibly the failed business, teasing and/or envious of Luke/Jane
Luke on the ice - He would try to help Luke, falls into water but makes it back up to land. He gets depressed and join in Kenny beating Arvo
Wellington or Howe's - Wellington, because Howe's and the area in general has lots of bad memories along with it, he wants to let go of the past and start again in Wellington
Jane's Death - Nick and Clementine try to stop the fight, Kenny accidentally non-fatally stabs Nick in his rage, Nick gets pissed at Kenny, but forgives him after finding AJ alive.
Edith has one more spot in Wellington for Nick, but not for Kenny. Ending choice will be Leave with Kenny/Stay in Wellington with Nick and AJ
