So because of me my mom is now into Telltale games
Let me start off by saying she has never and still hasn't watched a single episode of the walking dead nor intends to. Also as far as I know she has never played a video game in her life besides pong maybe. I sometimes stay over at my mom's place and hook up my games to play when she goes to sleep but this time I asked her if she wanted to check this game (the first episode of the second season) out for a few minutes she was skeptical at first but within the first ten minutes she was hooked. She loved clem and we ended up playing the whole episode with her making the choices. Atm we have played through all of the wolf among us and are almost done with both seasons of the walking dead I am trying to finish the first season before we start on the 4th episode of season 2. Its a fun time and I like being able to share the same interests. Anyway my question to you all has anything similar happened to you? Like showing someone the games thinking they would hate it, but the opposite happens. Also this is my first discussion post if I messed something up or have posted this in the wrong place please let me know and ill delete it.

I doubt I'd have much luck with the game or the comic, but I did totally get my mom onto the show midway through season 2.
I got my ex into it. I got my cousin into it and a few friends. That's pretty much it. I tried to get my dad to play, but he only got to Hershel's Farm. He didn't do a major choice xD
I got my mom really into it. She really loves the game and played both seasons. I tried to get one of my friends into it, but I don't think she was really that interested

It kinda happen to me though. I never was a walking dead or a zombie fan in my life. I don't even own any game involving zombies. Until one day my brother bought the walking dead season 1 game of the year disc and I was like 'uh.... zombies'. Everything changed the moment I started playing it and I was hooked! Finished the entire season one in 2 days. Downloaded season 2 the next day. Finished it in 2 days. And now I'm currently playing The Wolf Among Us. Seriously The walking dead is probably one of the best games ever made... period!
I got my cousin to play it and then I got my other cousin to play it. They both said it was alright, but one of them said he would take a lot of games over it.
Yes! Lol! I would ask my dad to try it and he would always say "later" after 3 weeks I forced him to play Ep 1, Season 1 of The Walking Dead. He loved it! And is currently on Ep. 4 of Season 2
My mom loves watching me play it but didn't want me to watch Carver's death even though I was tempted. My sister watched Episodes 1, 2, and 5 of Season 2 and Episode 5 of Season 1, she's not as into it though.

I've been thinking about asking my mom to play season 1 just to see what choices she would make and how different they would be from mine, but I don't think she's going to like it, she doesn't like video games so I think she wouldn't take it seriously.
Sorry for answering with a question, but how is "I am trying to finish the first season before we start on the 4th episode of season 2" possible??? How can you play three episodes of season 2 before finishing season 1???
I got my 11 year old brother to play it, but my older brother won't play it. My dad saw me playing it once, had the cheek to say it was boring.
I also wanted to say I tried to get my friend to play.

I used to play alone, then my mom checked in once and now she watches every episode. Sometimes she even plays. she completed an entire episode without me
My mother and I have completely different tastes. My mother doesn't like games, the one exception being Cosmic Spacehead so yeah, over 20 years ago.
We can't even agree on television, she loves cop shows. They bore me, the one exception being "Southland," which we both enjoyed. It's ironic, because there so many good police point and click adventures I think my mother would really like.

My brother plays other games. The Walking Dead is a normal game for my brother.
But I Love The Walking Dead! My favorite characters are Lee, Clementine and Kenny.

No need to be sorry it's a pretty justifiable question, well I knew she would like season 2 more so I started with that (also because I have a crappy 360 with only a little memory space which gta 5 took the most of so I didn't have enough space for season 1) So we played the second episode of season 2 and I began to explain Kenny to her when I realized it would be a lot better to show her the first season. It was probably the wierdest way to play twd while we would switch between season 1 and 2 she kept asking what happened to the baby when we played season 1 which I thought was pretty funny. She still doesn't know what happens to lee but we are on the final episode of season 1 and once we finish that we can start the second half of episode 4 which we had stopped at so we could finish season 1. TLDR we started playing the second season and by episode 3 we started the first season so I could show her how Kenny fit in and young clementine with lee.

Hey I thought the same way as you did. If you're really unsure how she would like it I would suggest showing her the first episode of season 2 first if it wasn't for playing as clem I don't know if my mom would've gotten into the story and the choices like she did. On a side note when my mom played the wolf among us she was surprisingly brutal which I found hilarious.

I kept talking about the game so one day she was fed up and said "show me that shit already". And that's the story about how we suffer together now.
On the game side have you tried to show her the wolf among us? Even though its about fables at its heart its a murderer mystery. For Tv shows both of you might like Banshee its about a thief who becomes a sheriff to get back what he had stolen, it wasn't the best show but it was pretty good. I would recommend The Wire its really not just a cop show but its really good. Also along those same lines is Dexter although Dexter is really different from most cop shows and the last few seasons are kind of meh, but the first 3 to 4 seasons are pretty great.
If she doesn't like playing games and has trouble with the controls you could play until a decision pops up and pause while you let her tell you which one to pick its a bit annoying but its also kind of fun to discuss the chioces as you're making them.
