There's nowt like this, I've never even heard of Les soldes before. And I know Britain is technically European, but I'd hesitate to say it's in any way similar to the other countries in Europe.
For the official record, oh, take notes please secretary, I have never seen anything like this. I was born in Louisiana, at 4 moved to North Carolina, at 8 to Tennessee, and I have never, ever seen anything like what most people call black friday. Yes. the stores are crowded. But no one dies. no one stampedes. This is just propaganda. It doesn't happen everywhere.
Oh yeah. have to put in something US related. hmmmmmm
I'm proud to be a resident of The United States of America, cause at least I can call myself American.
I already responded, but la... Part of it is I just bought Bully and it is take FOREVER to download...
Anyway, reminds me of a song I really like (good treadmill music), that kind of encapsulates it. (Plus I met the band and despite the image they're super nice.)

Go to California. I'm from Massachusetts and I hadn't even heard of Black Friday until I went to college.
Actually, now that you mention it, Telltale is in California isn't it? How come Clementine is Clementine? They don't have that word, do they? When I was in college everybody kept asking me if I wanted a 'cutie' and I had no idea what they were talking about.

No offense, you can't choose where you're born after all. But the rest of the world thinks quite lowly of the US, and your patriotism. But hey, different cultures I guess.
Yes I know this comment was completely unneccesary

Yes. It happens. I agree. But it isn't a problem in 99% of the U.S. The only real problematic places are densely populated places where everything is really expensive. California. New York. Places like that. It doesn't happen in most of the other states.

It's interesting when you consider generations. When I went to live in France for a year, my grandmother, who was the daughter of immigrants said "be proud you're American," whereas my parents (both second generation) are very Eurocentric. Anyway, here is a clip from one of my favorite Americans (his last show before he died in 2008), talking about pride:
