S2e5 was Amazing
Just wanted to say that I was very impressed with s2e5. It's amazing that telltale could create an ending that was on a level as heartbreaking as season one's ending but in a wholly different way. In s2e5, no matter how you play it and no matter how you played any other episode (in s1 or s2), Clementine ends up with blood on her hands. And either way, she is saving someone she loves by killing someone else she loves. (You ARE killing someone if you let someone else kill her when you could stop it.) It's bitter and twisted and absolutely final. There is No Going Back. Clementine has been forced to lose her innocence. It illustrates, not just how easy, but how inescapable the loss of innocence is. Other episodes have shown this, but none quite so pointedly I think. I was really sad for a really long time.
I killed Kenny and left Jane behind. I'd just spent the whole episode trying to bring Kenny back from the edge, to temper his actions, because he had become scary and he was reminding me of Carver. I was protecting Arvo left and right, but not because I cared about Arvo or didn't think he was dangerous (I SAW every death glare he gave Clem after she shot his zombie sister). I protected Arvo because I cared about Kenny. In fact I loved Kenny by the end, and I just knew he would become more violent with every violent action he took. So I wasn't protecting Arvo, really. I was protecting KENNY. From himself.
And I guess that's all I could think about in that final battle. My job was to protect Kenny from himself. And if I let him kill Jane (especially when I believed her that the baby died by accident), that would be the tipping point for Kenny. He'd be 100% Carver 2.0 after that. So I shot him. Basically, I made Clem save Kenny from being a murderer by making Clem the murderer. I know that's messed up, but that's what made it so phenomenally sad for me. What made it even worse was that I was wrong. Jane wasn't so innocent, and Kenny in fact doesn't turn into Carver if you let him kill Jane. Of course he doesn't. He's Kenny. But no matter. I got Clem's hands all bloody. There was no way around that.
Then, I left Jane because she'd done a horrible thing. And I got the Alone ending, which I honestly think is the best one. I don't know why no one else seems to like it. It's awesome, Clem's all feral and confident and free. Awesome.
And who knows if Wellington is even really safe? Although, it is nice to know it was really out there. And that's another thing I love about the ending. It was surprising, in many ways. Telltale never fails to surprise and impress me.

She doesn't love Jane
lol nope, stop trying to brainwash people into believing this.
Your logic is a mess, you protect someone because you love someone but you kill someone because this and that and blah and bleh carver two point oh so i killed Kenny so i could save him.
Here we go....
Well except she's not free. She's still stuck having to care for a baby, possibly the biggest liability you can have in a zombie apocalypse. And we're given no choice or indication of where she's going or what her goal is. She just walks off in a random direction, holding a zombie magnet that she has to hold and feed.
I think that depends on who you ask. The way I played Clem, she didn't seem to love Jane, because I didn't like Jane that much. But the way some of my friends (who really liked Jane) played Clem, she did seem to have very strong familial type feelings for Jane.
Agree to disagree.
I shot Kenny in order to save him from being a murderer. Other people let Kenny live in order to save him from being, well, dead. The way I saw it, there was no saving him in both ways, so I saved him from what I thought was worse. That wasn't simple, and it turned out to be even more complicated when it turned out Jane was kinda crazy and Kenny wasn't Carver 2.0. That's what made it so sad for me. It IS a mess. And there is no way around it, no way to keep my conscience clean, no logical claim toward my actions being right. And, for me, that was the horrible beauty of it. Because that is art imitating life.
No you are killing someone if you shoot kenny. Which is wrong. It's also wrong for kenny to kill her but do you really want clem to become a killer? Lee would be dissapointed.
Shut this thread down im sick of hearing this shit.
You're not forced to be in this thread.
I think she was as free as she was going to get. In Wellington, they probably would have made her take care of AJ anyway, or worse, they wouldn't have let her when she obviously wanted to. Which brings me to the fact that she would have had less say in her own fate in Wellington than if she was alone. And who even knows if that place was really safer than just wandering around in a two-person group (two including AJ) covered in zombie guts. Remember that's how Christa and Omid and then Christa and Clem survived so long (except without the extra advantage of the zombie guts). And I think her goal is basically the same at this point no matter what ending you get: to survive. But that's just my opinion.
Stop with the Lee comparisons! Lee is the player, so it's up to the player to decide what is right or wrong.
Sick of what?
Nomatter what Lee is more like Kenny than Jane though so I don't think he would have liked what Jane was doing.
Also she was trying to kill kenny too, don't give me that self denfense bullshit! She slashed kenny and could have backed off when he retreated outside.
Yea well I am a part of this community so Of course I look at these threads, and this constant bickering is tiring and just fucking annoying now.
That doesn't mean he would agree with what Kenny was doing. I also didn't like what Jane did, so I left her. I was only trying to stop Kenny from murdering someone, doesn't mean my Lee would be disappointed.
Nobody is bickering here? Just stating their opinions.
stop trying to make this seem like "just stating an opinion" where its actually just annoying Kenny vs Jane threads.
True. To bad lee wasn't there he could have stopped that fight.
I don't see how this is a kenny vs jane thread? Nobody is claiming that either is better?
Jane vs Kenny fights dont always imply that either is better, Look at the first post on this thread.
She just wanted to keep AJ safe. She wasn't obsessed over caring for it herself. So unless they barred her from seeing him again (which, why would they?), I think she would have been fine with it. Outside by herself, she would be spending her days constantly having to watch out for danger out in the wilderness from walkers and bandits while scavenging for what scarce supplies she can find to feed herself and AJ (which, unless they happened upon a random stash of baby formula out in the wilderness, would be nigh impossible). Wellington, at the very least, has plenty of supplies seeing as how they can just give them out to any weary group of travelers who happens by. She's free to do things other than just try to survive. She can live.
Ummm, I haven't been on these forums in a long time, but apparently, I'm pushing some buttons that have been pushed before. If I'd known y'all were so sensitive about "this shit", I wouldn't have said anything. My deepest apologies, sir or madam. Is it possible we can still be friends? Or are we doomed to be enemies? Oh, cruel fate! Why dost thou torment me? That I, unbeknownst to myself and merely besieged with boredom, should post such a button-pushing-eth review and make, of thee, an enemy, Legendary12! Wherefore?????!!!!!!!!!!! lol jk Seriously, though, we cool?
yea were cool, Its just that there was a real shitstorm this pass month, even the mods had to step in.
Why would they bar her from seeing AJ? Who knows? Maybe they're just mean. Much of it comes down to how much you trust random people. I just trust Clem/myself to take care of Clem and AJ a lot more than I trust anyone else. It's really just a matter of opinion, whether you would rather have lots of supplies but be constantly at the mercy of strangers (who might turn out to be amazingly good people, but it takes a sizable amount of time to really determine that) or have to scrounge for food but be be at no one's mercy as long as you stay well hidden.
Well you clearly have no idea how murder works. I just saw interesting episode of Flashpoint last night, were some 18 years old girl pointed a gun at her violent and crazy father, who was going to shoot her mother. She shot 2 times at her father, even though they (police) tried to stop her, but she left them no choice but to shoot her. When it comes to law, it doesnt matter if (from you pov) the evil person is getting killed, you shoot the person who is actually trying to commit the murder.
Stopping someone from murdering isnt a murder.
My Clementine already had killed the Stranger, so your argument is also invalid.
Two completely different and unrelated scenarios. A Jane fan looking for things outside TWD to justify his choice of picking the worst ending in the history of gaming, what a surprise.
ENOUGH OF THIS KENNY VS JANE BULLSHIT!!!!?
Feel I've read this kind of thread for a hundredth times
What? Im not justifying my pick with some moral bs, i just said how things work in real life.
I based my decision in the game on the fact that Kenny was a threat to me and my group and i kept Jane around because taking care of a baby is already stupid enough and doing it alone is a death sentence.
Somehow everything ends up in a Jane vs Kenny...
Anyway, S2E5 is my favourite episode to date. Hardest decision I ever had to make for sure. Only thing I didn´t like was...yeah, everyone already knows. It was still a fantastic episode.

This isn't real life, this is the apocalypse, a full blown global catastrophe where only the strongest survive. Jane clearly wasn't strong enough to survive or even smart enough to avoid conflict.
That's hilarious because Jane wants to get rid of the baby
So did i, but since the game forces me to take care of the baby, its better to have someone take care of it with you.
please stop, i beg you guys. @zykelator you are the biggest Jane extremist on this forum, and you @Clem_is_awesome are the biggest Kenny extremist in this forum. This can only go horribly wrong, please stop both off you
Why would you call me Jane extremist? This is who i have been for years and the fact that Jane just happens to be just like me is coincidence.
i meant that you defended Jane very VERY VERY strongly, i wasn't trying to say that that wasn't you, why would you think that?
"People talk so much shit about her" why do you talk shit about Kenny then? after all you are a "rational" person
Why shouldnt i? People talk so much shit about her, just because she isnt like everyone else. i've had my fair share of similar complaints in real life, because of my rational and objective attitude towards life and pretty much everything.
I dont talk shit about Kenny, im just being objective. This community is full of biased people who cant remain objective, so they just spew all kinds of shit and ignore the facts.
ps. your message disappeared.
if you say so, i know I'm not gonna get trough, so let us just end it here
When are you not talking shit about kenny?
Sure.
