Rick VS The Governor, fight analisis.
When the Governor came to retake the prison, he and Rick got a chance to have one hell of a brawl.
Rick is 5'10ft.
And just as an educated guess, I'd say weights between 165lbs-190lbs.
Being a former Police officer, he would've not been trained in the use of firearms, but also have been trained how to fight.
And before the seige of the prison, he had already injured his hand in a fight with Tyrease, and had suffered a gunshot wound in the left thigh.; in the very early part of the battle.
The Governor, is 6'3ft.
And I'd say is probably around 225lbs.
And other than his one eye, had no previous injuries, at least none that I can remember.
And having survived for months on his own, he no doubt had become quite adept at fighting.
Not to mention he had a malicious and vindictive spirit about him, which would surely lend itself to any brawl.
During the fight, despite his injuries, Rick was laying some serious blows on the Governor.
However cause of his being in top shape, and his superior size, the Governor soon overpowered Rick.
And was in the process of choking Rick to death, until he was ran through by Michonne.
Judging the fight for yourself, if Rick had not been previously injured, do think he could've beaten the Governor?
Even though he was the smaller of the two men?
I feel, that even if Rick had been in top condition, he still couldn't have taken the Governor.
Yes Rick is a scrapper, and we later on saw how he killed Joe and his group.
Rick is definitely a badass in a fight.
Nevertheless the Governor is still a bigger man.
And his size gives him greater strength.
Even though Rick would've given him the toughest fight he ever had, I still think the Governor would've prevailed.

idk the governor was really strong and great at hand to hand combat. see what he did to merle?? and merle could still fight.

Didn't Shane lost to Rick in hand to hand combat at some point? I can't remember well.

The Governor had just been shot in the shoulder with a .44. Any argument for him is invalid.
The Governor is just naturally a better fighter IMO.

The Governor is just a better fighter imo but if Rick had shot the gun with his right hand I had a feeling he would have shot the Governor more accurately.
The Governor bit Merle's fingers off and ripped walker's throats out.
Even when shot in the shoulder, he still manages to almost kill Rick.
The Governor is probably the best on hand to hand in the show.

But I do know Negan slightly, [Spoilers] the guy who killed Glenn [Spoilers]
I don't know how he fares on hand to hand though, he did the above with a baseball bat.
He broke ricks leg with his bare hands while weaking from bloodloss

Still, I would like to see a fight between the Governor and Negan, it would be interesting.
