Kenny DLC

edited September 2014 in The Walking Dead

Okay, I know this has been discused before, but I think it would be an amazing idea.

Think about it, we start as Kenny either in the alley or in that building, we escape, and later we go to the Marsh House (Kenny thinking in case Lee didn't get to save Clem), so he tries to save her. He finds walker stranger/dead stranger and the corpse of the walker Lee killed to put guts in him and Clem. Later when he leaves the hotel, he finds Lee either dead or as a walker (if he's a walker he'd be outside the jewelry missing one hand and an arm, or only one hand, or none (the one we determinantly cut and the hand he determinantly ripped off the handcuffs after reanimating) and we have to put him down. That would be a nice reason to get back to Savannah and make the shoot/leave Lee choice important (I highly doubt walker Lee can walk to North Carolina in S3), and also could make an amazing epic moment. I think that would be a nice reason why he isn't impressed that Lee isn't with Clem in S2 ep2, because he either saw him dead or had to put him down but he didn't tell that to Clem to not re-open old wounds. After that, Kenny leaves Savannah and spends lots of time alone (S4 governor style) and tries to find shelter in a restaurant where we meet Sarita. The DLC would end with Kenny arriving at the lodge and establishing his new life there with Sarita, Walter and Matthew.

The decisions would be like:

Survival: You and X% of players escaped through the window/escaped through the basement (save Christa scenario). You and X% of players escaped through the sewers/escaped using Ben's corpse as a distraction (Ben scenario).

Friendship/Mercy: You and X% of players put down Lee/left him as a walker. (In case Lee is dead, this decision would be "entered the jewelry/didn't enter the jewelry" trying to find weapons or shelter).

Hope: You and X% of players accepted Sarita's help/tried to survive on your own (that one leading to Kenny passing out and being rescued by Sarita anyways).

Leadership: You and X% of players took the leader's role/let Matthew have the leader role (we see Kenny as the leader of his group in S2, but we don't really know if Matthew was the true leader and Kenny was just replacing him while he's outside).

What do you guys think? I would love it. As a Kenny fan, I'd really love Kenny to have his playable episode, at least in a DLC. Also this would allow us to see his "transformation" from S1 Kenny to S2 Kenny, besides giving us some nostalgic S1 feelings.

  • Ugh no. Kenny overshadowed the entire group in Season 2. I've had enough of Kenny...

  • I'd rather not have a prequel DLC. I'd like a DLC that introduces a new character who you play as and will be a major character in season 3 along side Clementine.

  • Kenny clearly doesn't know what happened to Lee after they were separated, when Clem and Kenny are on the couch he asks her what happened. If he saw walker Lee or his corpse he wouldn't have asked.

  • This wouldn't work as Rhaeygar said Kenny didn't know what happened to Lee. Kenny also has a set personality already so the choices of dialogue would be completely out of character I would imagine. But the way you put sounds like it would've been good idea to see as a flashback while kenny explains how he got out of Savannah to Clem in the lodge.

  • I want to see them rewrite Ben alive and hooks up with Clementine. Then she has to babysit him to keep him safe, like Lee did with Clementine.

  • I want one with Ben Alive in it.

  • On another note, if there was a Molly DLC then maybe she could find Lee in the jewerly store. Cuz that IS a cool idea.

  • I actually like prequels, my new favorite being Drakengard 3 :p, I just don't think if they were to use Kenny it wouldn't end that well. Now if they would use a new character and make subtle hints to things that happened after Season 1 would be cool.

  • What if Molly finds lee and provides him with a "Juice" box, curing Lee of his illness. Then they march back to their base where they live for a while, then Lee decides to make it off on his own looking for Clementine, and Molly comes for the ride.

  • Amazing, send it to telltale asap

  • I´d rather not. I don´t like prequels.

  • Same...sick of him now.

Prequels wouldn't work in this game. The factor of not knowing what's going to happen is eliminated because of Kenny's and Sarita's fate. Even if they meet other characters along the way we know that they mean no harm because of Kennys and Saritas existence and well being in S2, and if they're unknown we know they are either gonna die or leave. No tension and very not interesting.

The only way to make the prequel interesting is probably showing some stuff from S1 depending on your actions. But that's not enough imo.

  • I'm just saying it makes more sense for Molly to find Lee, if anyone, because she never left Savannah to our knowledge. I don't care if it happened or not.

  • I think a Christa DLC would be more appropriate.

Most of the options just have the same outcome no matter what you chose, most people here get outraged by that sort of stuff.
