why would he conclude the infection is still contained in his arm, when he is already passing out?
and i really do not get how people can take an amputations so lightly.
a homemade amputation, without anesthetic (performed by oneself) makes one obviously not even remotely capable, to do what lee does. (if one would survive at all) now add to that the fact, that he is still infected.
Really? Lee's only concern when he got bit was finding Clem, and the choice to cut his arm off was there because he thought that he would lose the infection or buy him more time to save Clem. And know one knew how zombie bite would work.
that does not change, that it was stupid.

How would you avoid it? By smashing the radio back at the motor inn? She lied about it being broken. How in the lower reaches of hell is that in any way Lee's fault?
scroll down, for the answers to the question. i have repeated myself already far to often.
did a child ever come with some device to you and claimed it is broken?
i made the experience, that most of the time you just have to change the batteries, but them back in properly, turn some switch... if there is anything at all wrong with the device, it is mostly just some loose part, that is easily fixed, it might even still work, if you just tilt it. but lee never even looked at it.
i do not expect lee to rip the radio from her hands and destroy it. just to consider the possibility, it might still work.

And so would you. If zombies were to happen in the real world we'd be too busy fucking each other over to survive and dying. No one would make it to Herschel's farm let alone Savanna!
By all means call Lee stupid. He made it for months through zombies and cannibals and betrayals. You are kidding yourself if you think for one second you could do better.
As for the zombie behind the trash that bit him. Its very easy to miss the obvious when you are worried about someone you have taken responsibility for.
just take a closer look at the situation.
how many people would actually have left clem behind at her home?
who would not have gotten … moreattached to that sweet little orphan in similar situations?
if you going to die anyway, why not do something useful with your remaining time, and save that orphan you got so attached to?
i think many people in this forum would have done something as noble as lee, but in a less stupid manner.
you call that saving clem? taking her in the middle of a walker horde, when it is obvious you are going to pass out?
And the alternative was????? Leaving her with the stranger????? Leaving her after killing the stranger???? I don't understand what you're saying. Should he have waited to turn and left Clem there in the marsh house with no chance of getting out? it was either get out now or.......... Don't bother. So Lee is less of a man because.... He didn't figure out that the zombie guts mask them from the zombies before Clem did? Does logic not work on your planet?
why the hell do you give someone huge credit for being lucky?
we do not even know if lee would have made that connection. it was clementi… morene that pointed out, he was covered in "that gross stuff". he might as well have assumed, they ignored him because, the infection has spread through his entire body.
you call that saving clem? taking her in the middle of a walker horde, when it is obvious you are going to pass out?
This somehow detracts that Lee was going across all of Savannah to try and save Clem.

cutting of your arm does not help clem. the infection has obviously already spread and loosing an arm just makes you less capable to save her. (especially if you know you have to get up an elevator shaft right after)
Meta gaming at its finest. We didn't know at the time how the infection works. Hell before episode 2 we thought it was just the bite. Dying is enough to turn you. The rules aren't entirely clear in the game. For all we know Lee had moments to turn and cutting hte arm off bought him some time. Of course we know better but I don't really enjoy meta gaming like that. Besides Lee doesn't know and we're talking about him here. Hell we don't even know about the elevator shaft yet

Before or after? Ben interupts your first attempt? Before or after Kenny ditches you for a boat? Before or after Crawford? I would not blindly run into that walker hidingspot.
Because walkers have been known to hide.

"lee saved clem" is just such a stupid statement.
yes, i claim clem was safer with the stranger, then crying over a unconscious lee in the middle of a walker herd, desperately trying to wake him up, when it more likely he will turn instead.
he put her in a situation, where a complete suspension of disbelieve is necessary to expect her to survive. just think about it. it was a miracle they survived that.

Clem hasn't gone through the same stuff that Lee has. Clem's done things similar to Lee, but that scene at the Marsh house? Lee, having no idea about the effects of zombie blood, walked into a hoarde of walkers with a butcher knife and a glass shard, OR fucking armless. Clem is more about strategy than bravely marching off into battle.
Larry: The guy was a MAJOR jackass! His attitude, when he thought Duck was bit, really pissed me off. Especially when he said: "Hey little boy!
Before you eat your mommie, you get to watch your dad get his nose broken." And his attitude towards Ben's wounded classmate, saying Lee and Kenny should've left them to die, made me sick. Needless to say, I hated the old guy. However, when he dropped in the meat-locker, I had some reservation about ending him. But then when I considered how fast Ben's classmate turned, I didn't see another alternative.
Lilly: Lilly, in my opinion, was just as cold-hearted as her dad. And when she shot Carly, whom she had no conclusive proof of being the one who was helping the bandits, I was done with her.
I left her on the side of the road.
Season 2.
Carver: The man was dangerous psychopath.
He had no love or feeling for anyone.
I think Kenny made the right call, in killing Carver, though I do have some objection about the way he went about it.
The bottom line is that it had to be done.
Caver was to dangerous to be kept alive.
Troy: Troy was a jackass, and from what it sounded like, a sexual pervert.
I had no problem with how Jane shot him in the pecker, and left him for the walkers.
Arvo: After I had Clementine spare Arvo, he tried to rob the group, and was willing to kill them if necessary.
Which is obvious by how he shot Clementine.
