Well they did turn the ''They're fucking with the wrong people'' from the comics into ''They're screwing with the wrong people'' in the show, it may have not been as badass but eh it works.
yeah they said he'll be in the show but i don't know how. Casting isn't the problem, the problem is his dialogue because almost every word is fuck or some form of fuck and you can't say that on T.V.

Personally I think the whole concept of a "villain" isn't needed and I think it's a bit childish. Antagonists in the sense of people who have different or opposing goals? Sure. But Dick Dastardly bad guy, like, oooh he's sooo evil I just find a little silly. They got away with the Governor in the wider context and he mixed up the story nicely. But I found Negan to be an attempt to create The Governor 2 and it didn't work for me. Not only that, he seemed to be there for ages and it dragged on too long. And I found the conclusion to All Out War to be far from satisfying. That's where I left the comic.
In a world without money, I find these cartoon bad guys hard to believe. Carver though just got away with it and mainly, in my opinion, because it seemed to show that he had built a fairly strong community and then went off the rails a bit. I could speculate that Carver was a pretty good leader at some point whereas I just get crazy loon from Negan and I could never buy that he managed to rein that community in.
hmm i like your points a lot. I also think the idea of a villain in something like the walking dead is a bit strange. Like shouldn't the zombies be the opposing force? isn't that why they're there? The Governor and Negan are somewhat similar that's true but I think Negan is an emotionally cold version. I think Negan is awesome but The Governor was a better character because he was complex and had a reason for everything he did. He wasn't just a heartless man, he was very broken actually. Negan is your standard bad guy, evil just to be evil no motive for it. Some could debate and say villains don't need motives but I think its interesting when they do.
