Does Anybody Like The Idea of Clementine Having a "Survivor" Friend?
By a "survivor" friend I mean someone who is a similar age to Clementine, a girl and is just a survivor like Clementine. Perhaps the player may choose whether they want to befriend this person or completely leave them and this friend of Clementine share survival tips, they both have the same opinions and attitudes on certain things (as episodes progress these attitudes change, and there can even be a "falling out" between the two during the course of an episode) and all sorts.
But they could also take about the pre-apocalyptic world, do "girly things" (I cringed writing that) and all sorts.
Would you like this idea, of Clementine having a survivor-oriented friend whose her age and gender, to watch her back?

Oh well I'm sorry about that. Is there a reason why?
Clem already had a "survivor friend" throughout S2: Sarah (though I admit she wasn't much of a survivor). TTG would be kinda rehashing things if they included another: "Oh look it's a girl roughly Clementine's age that she might end up befriending."
That didn't work out very well the first time.
Also, what are these 'girly things' you speak of? I'm pretty sure I haven't not thought of Clementine as a girl (which sounds weird) despite not having a pink bow on.
Not particular reason, really. I just don´t think it fits.
She really does need to meet some other kids her age that are actually somewhat competent (sorry Sarah fans). Doesn't even have to be a friend. Even a rival of sorts would be pretty refreshing (which is why I was disappointed that Becca didn't feature more into the story). I guess Jane sorta fills that role, but yeah, I would like another kid for Clem to interact with. Maybe even multiple kids.

I wouldn't really call Sarah a "survivor", she was mostly protected. I just thought it would be interesting to see Clementine be friends with someone her age who knows how to survive, and knows how to use a gun, how to fight, the moral dilemmas that arrive in the apocalypse, etc.
Yeah, that's why I put survivor friend in inverted commas.... IMO it would end up being a Clem 2.0.
You know
Well I didn't mean that, but Clementine is a girl. I just thought perhaps they would talk about things like what school they went to, what they did, past events, etc. So we get a better understanding of Clementine and her past-life.
Eh...not really looking for one. The way I play my Clem she´d rather have adult company.
I can't imagine why. Almost all of the adults she's ever met in her life were either jerks, liabilities, dead, or some combination of the 3.
Like this?
Dunno. Maybe Gill will join the party anyways.
Well...technically so were the kids. XD
True, but she's only met 2 and she seemed to like them both and didn't really have any conflicts with them.
I frankly wasn´t that buddy-buddy with Sarah. I tried toughening her up but...I guess TT wasn´t having it.
Pretty much except it wouldn't be a romantic relationship.
Eh I imagined it would be perhaps a hot-headed girl who's stubborn but is also tough and doesn't give up. Sort of like Toph from A:TLA or Ellie from TLOU
Not really Clem and meeting others kinda doesn't end well.
When I was watching the Tv series, with 'Coarl' From Season 1 to 3 he pretty much only had adult company.
But when I watched Season 4, I forgotten how annoying 'kid company' was. So yeah, I'll stick with 'adult company'.
kids treated like adults tend to act different than kids treated like kids. clem hasn't been sheltered too much, and thus wouldn't fit with others (kid or otherwise) that has been sheltered too much. i hope TT realizes this and doesn't try to kiddy clem up at any point in the future (unless it is in a flashback of course).
part of the thing that kids treated like adults develop is a lack of regard for age. a 10 year old screw up is still as much of a screw up as a 50 year old screw up. most people though give the 10 year old the benefit of the doubt due to the young age, this can cause those that had to 'grow up early' tougher on kids than most people. fitting them back into kid roles results in friction, the kid knows what he can do. adults often treat a kid like they can't do much, but if the kid can do more than the adult respect for the authority diminishes quite rapidly (and generally ends up resenting all authority).
Well, it's not fanfiction, dude.
There's not going to be some magical clone of Clementine that comes along and they do 'girly things' together.
That's not what I was saying. Like I said previously I imagined they'd be more hot-headed and defnitive than Clementine, like I said similar to Ellie from TLOU or Toph from A:TLA. By girly things I didn't mean "They pick flowers" or "Sing songs" I just meant they spoke to each other like girls would do, and befriend each other quite well (Well player-choice really).
Jaime might have been more interesting than Jane.
I've been thinking about that and I have to say I really like this idea , I would like to see Clem interact with someone her age.
I don't see why they would have to be the same gender. Boys and girls can be friends.
ehhhhh riley and ellie's relationship wasn't really romantic. It became slightly romantic within the last few minutes of the dlc, but it was made clear that that hadn't happened before.
As soon as I read the OP I thought of Riley and Ellie too.
Yeah, people are overreacting over this.
I'd love to have Clem survive and adventure around with someone her age. Boy or girl, I think it would be very interesting. I'd want the other kid to be able to fight and have the maturity that Clementine has. I wouldn't want it to be a situation where Clementine becomes the caretaker, like with Sarah. It should be a symbiotic relationship.
The relationship could be a sister-sister or sister-brother kind of relationship. Or maybe just best friends, with a hint of a crush. Everyone hates the idea of even a hint of romance in TWD, but it would be realistic for two kids to develop feelings for each other after surviving and experiencing so much together. As long as it doesn't overwhelm the story, I think it would be kind of cool to see.
Yeah, alright, but that'd be like a younger Lilly v1, if you know what I mean.
Yeah sarah and duck were both pretty stupid and had to be protected constantly, I think having at least one other kid who can at least look out for themselves would be good. Having more than one other kid could be good and allow more of a playoff between all of them
lets get ricks son in there and see what happens with him and clem how long till he tryes to kill her and fails
why do they even have to be the same age?
at the start of S2 when clem met up with the new group she had a heart to heart with some of them if you picked those options. it starts off sort of like the building of friendship with 1 or 2 people, and they are much older. the sarah thing was more babysitting than actual friend stuff.
i wouldn't mind clem meeting a kid her own age that was also individually capable, but i'm not sure about friendship. it would seem a bit like an unreal coincident. too many factors lining up neatly.
Because (believe it or not) age and gender change how you view a person, perhaps? If it was a boy, everyone would probably say it was a romantic relationship (Like Carl and Sophia from TWD) - If it was a girl and a girl, barely anybody would think it was especially with the way girls seem to treat other girls. The same age is also important, as being younger or older could make Clem or her 'friend' more or less dominant which is not something I was suggesting.
Also I don't see why friendship can not be a thing in the apocalypse? I mean look at the comics.
That was suppose to be sarah
fuck u telltale
I agree with you. There's not much kids in the game for Clementine to interact with, so a cute relationship between two kids would be great. You know, something like Sophia and Carl.
