Does Anybody Like The Idea of Clementine Having a "Survivor" Friend?

  • Hmmmmm.... If it's done well it could be great :D

Write it so that Clem's survivor friend saves her in the first or second episode. Write the survivor friend to be really pragmatic, kind of like Jane, only... only in later episodes Clem starts to realize that her friend is "off" in a "Lizzy" (from the TV show) sort of way.

    Could be really good.

  • I would like a dog to be her friend but not a dog like Sam who attacks Clementine like a bítch.

  • Oh, I see now. Sorry for misunderstanding.

That's not what I was saying. Like I said previously I imagined they'd be more hot-headed and defnitive than Clementine, like I said similar

  • I agree, really wish that would've been that way with Clementine and Sarah, their relationship totally have been them surviving together in season 3 or something but I think it was stupid how we taught her how to use a gun and she never used one or how she barely had any impact in the end. Don't know, that might just be me who thinks that.

I think it would be a waste to have 2 similar characters when the existing characters are not able to get sufficient screen time.

I also liked the weaker, more innocent Clementine (Season 1 and, based on player choice, Season 2) more than the cold survivor version. I find weak characters more endearing, because their weakness makes me want to protect them.

  • no just the probability of meeting up with someone who is her own age, gender, and competency, in addition to being someone with a compatible personality.

given that this is a story driven game i don't see why you couldn't tell a non romantic story between say an adult guy and a little girl, in which the adult treats the girl as an equal. it could be a girl and girl as well at different ages as well. given that stuff like this happens in war zones all the time if they do their homework they will have plenty of material to draw from to make it feel natural.

Because (believe it or not) age and gender change how you view a person, perhaps? If it was a boy, everyone would probably say it was a roma

  • to me i liked the transition from weak to strong, it felt like i did my job right as lee in season 1. if she started off real strong it wouldn't have been nearly as good (either season), or if she failed to become stronger for season 2. i like to see growth, and i have accepted that TT will kill everyone off at the end, so i don't see much room for growth in others (though i still like them to have their moments).

  • Growth does not have to mean changing to a "strong" character, or a cold and non-innocent one.

In my game, Clementine grew into a character with morals, more similar to Lee than to Crawford.

  • I really thought Sarah was going to be the next Clementine. Not as a protagonist but character growth the way Clem grew. From innocent to doing whatever it takes to survive. When Clem teaches Sarah to use a gun, I really thought Sarah will learn to be strong and independent. Kinda sad Sarah had to die and never got a moment to actually defend herself from walkers. She could've been a good friend and ally to Clem...

  • clem had to be strong, otherwise she would have died due to the dog bite at the very least. strong doesn't mean without morals either, in fact you need to be strong to survive and have morals, surviving without morals is a lot easier.
