"If You Don't Like It, Just Leave"
I've been told this before in many variations and labeled as a "hater" and seen this argument around here. Of course, it makes no sense to me seeing as this is a forum open for friendly discussion and people's opinions. What are your thoughts on this statement? What do you do about people who just won't budge on their opinions and won't even appear understanding towards you?

I feel the statement is pretty stupid.
Give up on the conversation, ive done it a few times.
Sometimes its worthless arguing with some who wont listen, totally ignores your arguments, or wont change their very strong opinions.
Sometimes you just call it quits, realize this is a battle you cant/wont win, and not care.
"We need to make humanity better! If ya dont like it just leave"
Yeah , I agree.
Everybody has the right to like and dislike a character. It's a matter of opinion. There's nothing inherently wrong with liking Jane, Luke, Kenny, Bonnie, etc. as a character, and discussing why you do or don't. It's what the forum is here for - discussion.
I do think it's ridiculous when people get cussed out for not having the same opinion as another. There's nothing wrong with not liking a character or a particular season of the game, but people have to recognize that it doesn't justify hate towards another living person. Be respectful. Anybody who becomes that enraged over a disagreement should take a walk and break from the forums. Go outside and be with friends.
What?
It's a dumb statement to make. If someone tells you this then you know you're in the right. xD This is a place to discuss the game, and it's not exclusively for brown-nosing Telltale. My only issue here is the sheer excess of complaint threads.
I've never told anybody to leave, however when I've seen people saying that the writers in both season 1 and 2 are terrible and making it clear that they think both games are utter shite I've asked "what are you doing here if you think these games are garbage?"
I wasn't saying "go away" I was honestly curious as to what a person would be doing on a forum for a game they really didn't like, and also curious as to why they played both seasons
Friendly?
That was a long time ago. It's not very friendly anymore in my opinion, but it's alright. I've used that statement before, and I don't know? I don't understand why people complain about the game(Which is when I usually use that statement). Don't post your thoughts on here, go ask Telltale or something I don't know, complaining here won't change anything, Telltale I'm sure does not check this site. I've heard people say season 2 was absolute shit, about 200 times, and how it should be changed. Hell they made a petition with about 500 or more supporters. Did that change the game ? Nope.
I continue arguing. I had a month long argument over Lilly vs Kenny with three different people, and I am not doing that again with Kenny vs Jane. Sooner or later neither budges, because in the end everyone has their own opinion. If they aren't understanding then I ignore them, call them out on it, and if it goes as far as cussing, and disrespectful banter then I consider them a troll, or not even taking the discussion seriously. Honestly I just fight for what I think is right, and say what I think needs to be said. Most of the time you can't change others opinions, and if they don't want to understand your side then that's unfortunate...
people who usually quit have a weak point that they cannot back up for more than 2 replies anyways. so that's the best thing they should do since they'd be wasting their own times.
Or the argument could get to a point of not worthy of discussion anymore.
Sadly though a forum means it's a place to discuss, even if it means endless complaining, c'mon Ranging
Or they see that the other side is completely unwilling to change with an opinion completely set in stone, so they back down and realize that arguing with a rock is useless
I can deal with that, but it's going a bit far. From All That Remains, to No Going Back there has been complaining. Like what am I going to do about it? lmao.
I agree, I hate complaining just as much as the next guy. But we gotta let people complain if they want, if you disagree tell em that, if you feel it isn't worth discussing, ignore it, lmuo.
Get at me bruh.
What are these friends you speak of?
Ranging, and lmuo...
Please stop. My brain is hurting.
Does Crazy George care what people think or does he say what comes to his crazy mind!
Everyone should inspire to be more crazy.
I'm only grinding at your gears skrub, IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT THEN GET OUT ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
.
Lose your sanity, gain humanity!
It's a forum. Look up the word history. I'm sure there are assholes with toxic opinions in every one since Thebes. It doesn't mean you have to like them. Or take them seriously.
I lost both.
(I just wanted to use this)
If you don't like living just leave the world. Am I doing it right?
Or you could improve the forums.
Shit I read that and near had a heart attack lol
A lot of people are rigid in their opinions and don't want to be told otherwise. So many arguments start because nobody wants to respectfully listen to the other side and just end up resorting to insults. It actually weakens one's rhetoric to full-out rage at someone just for thinking differently.
As for the people that have this kind of attitude, just ignore them. If they can't maturely listen to your opinion, it's not worth reading whatever they have to say anyway.
It's open to friendly discussion, but no discussion is friendly. Everyone ends up upset and name-calling.
Whatever, echoPOOPOO!
runs off, upset
well it depends on when the saying is used imho if it is to someone who is constantly making comments complaining at the smallest things all the time and they are contributing nothing then i would be fine with using it but anything else well it is kinda stupid
I love how this totally ties up with TWD.
why did I laugh at this
Not really. Most people who think that point's are weak and couldn't be backed up anyways. It's a good thing that most acknowledge it and stop.
"If you don't like, that's your opinion" That's a better statement.
exactly, i have done this more than a few times
