Ok so I live in georgia and the walking dead films here and most of you know. So i was watching T.V. and an ad for WALKING DEAD LOTTERY TICKETS came on!
When the ad was over I said "this is going too far"These lottery tickets are actually available all around the country i'm just talking about my state. So my question is it going too far? I mean we have walking dead games (2 with another 2 coming soon), a T.V. show with a spin-off coming soon, Toys, a comic (which started it so maybe it doesn't count), an offical walking dead store in the town where they filmed the woodbury scenes. there's even a walking dead cannibal burger. I love the walking dead but i'm kinda getting tired of it. People are gonna suck this franchise dry.

The Walking Dead is a sell out.
People will milk this dry as it is a smart move by the business owner but as you say annoying to some of the consumer.
It's not going too far, cause this franchise is absolutely ginormously successful, it would be a shame if they didn't milk this cash cow in every way possible :P (speaking business terms though)
That's what happens to money making franchises, they suck all the money they can get.
Look at Star Wars
It's business, most people want to make money so they can provide for their themselves and their family.

Nah, it's perfectly normal though my opinion may not be of much value since I didn't like the TV show after the first season and I thought the first volume of the comic was pretty bad to be honest, the series did that way better than the comic and I didn't really bother reading after the first volume, so really I only like the Telltale game so everything else Walking Dead branded is of no interest to me but I'm glad it's that popular even if I think it's bad, because otherwise the game probably wouldn't exist so as long as I still like the game everything else is inconsequential to me.
That being said I would love some official Walking Dead game merchandise if there was a Lee or Clementine figure I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
If people aren't fed up and go for it I'd just call it "make profit out of a successful series".

Plus to be honest it gives the consumer a lot to enjoy. If you want to buy a walking dead life size statue, I'm sure it's out there.
Which can still be viewed as one of the top franchises of all time and one of the best stories. I have an R2D2 phone. It's awesome. Some may have considered that the "too far" point. But I'm glad I have it. So it can be argued very vehemently that milking is good, because it brings a lot of merchandise to the consumer.
And most aren't.

Here in CA we have stupid zombie tickets. We also have Wheel of Fortune tickets.

Most people will say they aren't. But consumers like to think they are above the hype. It's a lie, but they like to say it. If more were sick of it, then they wouldn't be doing it would they? Obviously enough people are into it, and willing to spend, to make it worth it. The entire premise that they are milking it, means they are making money of it, means the majority of people are enjoying what they are getting.

Would prefer comic (or telltale games) versions of merchandise. Why does everything have to be based around the TV show? Its no where near as good as the comics.
the show is more popular because people watch t.v. a lot. that and no really plays video games and some people think comics are for kids. some people just don't read comics.
Nope. Not too far. Unless you consider state involvement in gambling too far. What's wrong with the appeal of a zombie versus the appeal of a slot machine? Besides, no offence, but what other claim to fame does Georgia have? It's hard to imagine a scratch ticket full of peaches. Or even worse "Only $1: Play Sherman's March to the Sea."

AMC is the "Rockstar Games" of television.
AMC, is just trying to make as much money as it can, while The Walking Dead franchise lasts.
Unfortunately, that's what big business often does.
Big businesses generally make their profits off the backs of working class people, like myself.
And then turn around and pay their employees as little as possible.
Cause in the grand scheme of things, that's basically what big business does.
It basically says: "I'll pay you to do a job, for less than what I would be willing to work for, doing that same job."

Coca-Cola started in here, i hope you knew that. They filmed Forrest Gump in Savannah. we also have chick-fil-a. yeah we other claims to fame. oh and we actually don't make the most peaches so i have no idea why we're called the peach state.

its four part long and the videos are pretty long but if you can make it through all of them you'll see AMC differently.
Ah, true. Coca-Cola. I forgot about that... And nothing beats a cold Coke on a hot day. Though Chick-Fil-A has been the subject of controversy lately. Despite which, I still think their commericals are well made - they were in the Burlington Mall, and I remember liking their food. Not nearly as much as I liked (ironically given the circumstances) Flamer's Hamburgers.
yeah chick-fil-a has had some controversy recently. i don't think we have flamer's hamburgers here. never even heard of it honestly.
Minor chain when I was younger. Apparently it still exists, although it looks like it's dying out... It's hard to remember - I haven't been to my hometown in two years now and I haven't spent more than a few weeks there since 2007.

Random anecdote - one of my (strangely) proudest moments was from working in a hamburger joint in a food court. I served somebody, and while she had absolute no reason to come back (since she paid and was outside of the court), she specifically came to me and told me that I made some of the best fries she had ever tasted. I don't know. Even if it's something small, I'm really proud of doing it well.
