What is the point of Walking Dead?
A few days ago, my friend stated he does not like Walking Dead. He stated...
"What is the point of something, that is just about death."
So, TellTale community, I ask you, what IS the point of Walking Dead?

I kind of see it as its all about the characters, and how normal people change into complete monsters given the right circumstances. So yeah, its all about the characters and how they survive and change through the utter chaos.
Just about death? Lol that's like saying if someone asked their friend to play mario and they said "what's the point of playing something that is just about jumping?" IT AIN'T JUST ABOUT DEATH, TELL HIM THAT!
Robert Kirkman has said its a George Romero zombie movie that never ends. so I guess that's the point.
It's about how people cope with horrible situations. How do they change? Do they change from good to bad? Or is it impossible to discriminate good and bad so plainly? Are there good people who have done bad things? What about bad people who have done good things?
You see this a lot. Luke doesn't let the bad things change him. Kenny gets affected mentally and does some bad things, but that doesn't make him a bad guy. Carver and Crawford took advantage of the bad situation and let power go to their heads. Lilly goes nuts, but it's understandably justified.
Basically, its about distinguishing right and wrong and how you identify people and how you justify the choices you make.
The point of the Walking dead is that everyone dies, the end.
Should be about survival.
About humans in a zombie apocalypse. The hardships of the fall of society all the way up to rebuilding civilization.
TWD is about so much more than death. It's, to me, largely not about death at all. It's about life. The zombie apocalypse is merely a means to an end. How else could they push such things as social chaos, depravity of mind, body, and soul, decay of social foundations and everything else that comes with the loss of human control. Zombies are a fucking scape goat. A mechanic to showcase what we, as humans, are. What we will do. Why we will do it. Our breaking points. Our deficiencies. Our sufficiencies. What we will do for others. What we will do to others.
It is just about death. People stare at death and try to run from that. A slowly moving, inescapable zombie is the perfect incarnation of man's struggle with mortality. If they don't find that to be relevant to the human condition, kick them in the face.
What is the point of this thread?
Entertainment. Do you really have to ask?
^ This 10000%
It shows us deep down what humans can become, and that in life you choose your morals and who you want to be , So who will you become?
Misery porn.
Survival and Humanity?
It shows us what could happen to us and how people can change from being someone who wouldn't hurt a fly in a world where survival is easy to someone who would kill another living being to protect the ones they care for in a world where survival is a necessity.
It shows us how the humane lose their humanity.
It shows us how the inhumane gain their humanity.
It shows us change, how the world's change can affect an individual, how easy one's goal can change, how people have to betray their past selves in order to survive and how only those you consider to be family are the only ones you can trust.
The Walking Dead is filled with morality and the game shows us the outcomes of our decisions and that, no matter what your decisions are, who your friends are and who you side with, the outcome will always have both good and bad, it shows that you can't just choose one decision because it suits the situation, it shows you've got to think about the effects of a certain decision you make.
The Walking Dead is about reality... the only difference is the true dead walk.
How people change when everything goes to shit. When your life is in danger, you do some crazy stuff.
Also about tEH FEELS.
It is basically showing that deep down under the circumstances, A person who was viewed by everyone as nice and harmless, could become someone ugly inside, doing whatever it takes to survive.

what else?
i would say it is about the human interactions under the conditions of a zombie apocalypse
also anyone who says twd is only about death well... has never read/watched/played it they are just going off the title
I think it's about how different characters manage to survive during the Zombie Apocalypse, how they maintain their humanity when their survival is on the line, and how they manage to rebuild human civilization.
Isn't that statement somewhat conflicted?
Not really. In essence it's saying that morals can get in the way of life. Don't just be good, be useful. Kind of a major theme of TWD in my opinion.
All the human being kill each other then Zombies rule the world
This game isn't just a cliche zombie game, It definitely conveys a message to the fans who play it.
I'd say it's about, humanity.
How far are you willing to go, to keep yours?
It's a character study about the survivors and how they try to cope with the world they now live in.
The Walking Dead shows what happens to people when they no longer have things that usually they take for granted.

I don't want to read this comic any more.
It's a Zombie Soap Opera.
I feel like the point is to make you as depressed as possible while entertaining you and making you wonder what you would do under those circumstances
What's the point ? We'll just march to some new place and somebody else will die. It's never gonna stop !
