A few ways on how to deal with trolls or people who are simply rude.
1: Don’t Sink to Their Level
What’s the main purpose of a troll? It’s to make people angry or to disrupt the conversation just for kicks. They want your attention. They want to start an argument. Don’t give it to them. It’s pointless getting angry because some kid or anti-social person said something mean on the internet. Sinking to their level is just feeding the troll. Take a deep breath, walk away, and don’t waste your time getting into an online fight.
    2:Ignore Them
Easier said than done, but it’s probably the best way to defeat a troll. Remember – a troll wants attention. If no one pays attention to their nonsense, eventually they’ll disappear. If that requires too much discipline, utilize either the ignore button on your keyboard .
    3:Test Their Knowledge
Put a troll into place by calling them out on their knowledge. Trolls usually post useless criticism like “Your article sucks!” but they hardly ever back it up. Ask them why it “sucks” and what they would do to make it the greatest thing ever found online. They’ll likely never respond. It also doesn’t hurt to throw some really big words at them. Since you’re probably dealing with a child, or someone with a child’s mentality,

  • Well, people can be assholes. Doesn't mean we should accept their behavior and put the fault on people like Everyone'sClemInTime. What you're saying is sort of like:

"Hey, look at this strong tide. Just swim through it, no big deal. Oh, you don't know how to swim? Don't have the strength to right now? Well too bad, other people and I can handle it, and so should you."

Some people, like I said, are not emotionally equipped to handle those responses. It's too much for them, they don't know how or they just don't have the mindset for it. You shouldn't chastise them for that- would you do the same to the person in the tide scenario?

So instead of putting the blame on their inability to "swim through a strong tide", or handle hateful responses, why not throw them a life preserver? :)

  • A straw man is a common type of argument and is an informal fallacy based on the misrepresentation of an opponent's argument.

    strawman?

  • No, you're right, you don't go to jail. If you don't get a job you live in a cardboard box eating the scraps the slaves throw away. Maybe you're lucky and you get a tent and a nice chicken dinner on Thanksgiving, because the slaves take pity on your worthless butt. The truest freedom is homelessness. Enjoy your half eaten anchovy pizza freedom fighter :p

PS: I have spoken to a lot of homeless people. They often purposefully put themselves in jail during the harshest months because it is preferable to being free.

Truest freedom is living in middle on nowhere and getting everything you need from nature, completely out of reach from government officials. I dont care about that though, im fine paying taxes, since what they offer in return are "free" services, which i self have used. Here in Finland (atleast where i live) there arent any homeless (if there were, they would die every winter anyway). They have their cheap row houses and they get unemployment support.

But when they want me to go to the army, thats where they cross the line. Forcing me to go to the army for protection of the country is the same as forcing me to work for free, to help the economy. Its just something im not willing to do, just because they want me to. Saying that its my "obligation" to do so is just bs, since they dont own me.

Most can't, or won't, go live in the woods with little/no human interaction. Humans are, by nature, social creatures. Besides, it's still not freedom. You are forced into hiding in the middle of no where because of the government, you are banished (or sorts) from the normal world. (Perhaps not slavery, but you are still controlled by the government in that scenario.)

Here in Finland (atleast where i live) there arent any homeless (if there were, they would die every winter anyway). They have their cheap row houses and they get unemployment support.

So a more extreme form of "the slaves take pity on your worthless butt". The housing, unemployment, etc. undoubtedly controlled by the government. Just more slaves.

But when they want me to go to the army, thats where they cross the line. Forcing me to go to the army for protection of the country is the same as forcing me to work for free, to help the economy. Its just something im not willing to do, just because they want me to. That is not the same. You earn a living from the Army, quite the opposite of working for free. And, as covered, they do own you. Whether you wear a uniform or work clothes. The only difference is when I die my family is financially set and proud. When you die, your family is left with heartache and bills.
