  • The Last of Us

    Halo franchise

  • Heavy Rain!

  • Mass Effect and Halo.

  • Which Halo game do you like best? I've got the controversial opinion that ODST was actually the most enjoyable.

  • KOTOR 2. 10 years later, Malachor V still sends chills down my spine. Especially with the restored content mod.

  • Well actually, I think TWD is the only game to do that. Even my other two favorite games haven't been able to give off this really intense feeling.

  • Yeah, it's definitely not ODST for me :p . Why do you say it's the most enjoyable?

I'd say Halo 2. The story was very cool, especially with the addition of Arbiter's side of the story. Seeing both perspectives added a new layer of depth to the story and gave basis for why covenant was doing what they were doing. Halo 4 was also well done. It pulled at my heart strings when Cortana was going insane and there was nothing I could do about it. Then, at the end, when she says good bye.... :_(

    5. Did I mention Silent Hill series?
  • I really enjoyed ODST. But I liked playing the second game more.

  • I just adored the atmosphere of ODST. :p I felt hugely vulnerable and alone the whole way through, and I also loved the soundtrack and the personality in the characters; Being in the shoes of an unaugmented soldier was a lot of fun for me.

Still, Halo: Combat Evolved and 2 have brilliant story-lines overall and I could probably navigate my way through each level flawlessly and quickly to this day because the map design was so good. And yeah, Halo 4's ending... Damn... 343i did a great job with that.

  • I know the Metro games did. :)

Well, this past weekend I played Kana no Shoujo. And it was riveting until I got the end. Until I learned that my end wasn't the true end - even though it satisfied the story, provided complete closure to the game, and didn't make any indication of where I went wrong.

Maybe I'll go back with a walkthrough to get the other ends, but I'm not going to try all the options (and you get "freetime" during which you actually get vital clues to the case so there are thousands of options) when there is no indication whatsoever of where to go back to (plus, apparently, if you know too much too soon, that can get you killed...).

I love good stories, but even then I still have some trouble replaying them (or at least it takes a long time).

I'm gonna play Alien Isolation so wish me luck or that i won't shit in my pants....probably won't help anyways....

  • Those kind of games are on a list of games that I really want to know the story, but am too scared to play. I'll probably watch a playthrough, like I did with Corpse Party (not that that was so scary, but all I wanted was the story, and I hate chase scenes). I'm like with most games needing stealth. Except where stealth means taking a sniper rifle and picking off people here and there, but you can still fight if you get caught. I like that.

Dead Spaces looks good but I doubt I'd have the heart for it; I bought System Shock 2, which is supposed to be one of the best games of all time, and I'm still too chicken to play.

  • Great thread idea! For me:

    (In no particular order)
    1. Dragon Age Origins (Great story line, character development)
    2. Mass Effect Trilogy (Same as above).
    3. Dishonored (see username! main storyline and Daud's DLC are great.)
    4. Alien Isolation (really has me tweaking right now!)
    5. TimeSplitters Future Perfect (turned me into a gamer. Storyline is funny, strange, awesome. Great Co-Op game!)

  • alien isolation i was on the edge of my seat more playing that

  • I like games that draw you into its universe and it keeps you there and you become immersed in its world.

    (Besides TWD)

    1. The Last of Us
    2. The Wolf Among Us
    3. Uncharted Series
    4. Spec Ops: The Line
    5. Kingdom Hearts
  • I have Dishonored but i'm not far .

But looking at your top games maybe i should start it up and take the time to get into it
