How would the walkie-talkie planned have worked?
I worked in a garden center some years ago and we had walkie-talkies there too. I don't know if it's because I only used them a few times, but you can hear everybody on that radio and I don't think there's a private line on them [The walkie-talkie I was given just had the volume to turn it on and off, and the button you use so you can talk to somebody.]
So, how would the plan have worked on getting Luke the radio and using it to get everybody out? Because from what I can tell, that plan would've just fallen flat on its' face since everybody at Carver's camp would've been able to hear them talking. Even Tavia talking with that guy over the radio when Clem's sneaking around seemed a little dodgy, because if anybody else had a radio that night, they'd of overheard them and might've told Carver.

I thought that luke didnt actually use the radio to talk through because he only wanted to know the guard routines.
Using the radio would make no sense like that. The walkie was just to listen to the guards. I guess the one Clem/Kenny had was an extra? Or they would have just had Luke talk to them through that one.
No, in Episode 3 he says he wanted the radio so he could tell them what was going on with the guards. So the rest of the group having a radio too would've been so he could tell them that.
Most walkie-talkies have many different channels, or frequencies.
They do? O.O the ones I used must've been the basic sort then. But is there still a risk that someone could listen in on the frequency?
Definitely. Chances are they wouldn't switch frequencies unless they had a reason to, like trying to find out who took two of their walkie-talkies.
