Capcom inspired on Telltale!

When Resident Evil: Revelations 2 was announced as a game in episodic format, I immediately thought that they were inspired by the telltale ... and they are, and assumed that.

  • I may try it and thats a big MAY I got sick of resident evil after the fourth one as they lost a lot on survival horror aspect of it. I didn't even finish the first revelations because I couldn't get hooked on it.

  • The first Revelations is awesome!

  • Sorry it just never made me grasp the story or really scare me at all XD I don't mean to offend it's just my opinion.

  • Understand you, it is a matter of taste. I'm a big fan of Resident Evil ( Original series - Revelations ), so I really waiting the new Revelations. The fourth, five and the last... well, I really don't liked. You played the Revelations? Raid Mode is the best thing.

  • This seems to be talking about the TV show and not Telltale's video game. However it does share similarities with the episodic nature of it, so it's interesting.

  • I played the one that was remade on the xbox, I don't think I played Raid mode, did you have to beat the game? The last resident evil I really enjoyed was the third one :)

Capcom is inspiring in episodic format because of Telltale. You can read it at the end of the matter. Okabe ( Is his name? ), one of the producers, is a fan.

  • Oh, for me, the second is the best, the second in my list is Code:Veronica, the third is the third! Lol! I don't play Revelations between six months, but I think we need to finish the campaign to play the Raid Mode.

  • Sorry, but is here. In the end: "It will be like watching a TV drama so people can talk," he said. "I think our format is a bit different, but we definitely had an eye on Telltale and the games they put together. One thing they do really well, and we took inspiration from, even though their episodes are really spread out, people remained very interested because they talked about the game with each other."
It's not in this article, but I find in the wikia, he said he is inspired and a fan of Telltale. Search on the oficial Resident Evil wikia, Revelations 2 page.

I'm actually looking forward to Resident Evil Revelations 2. Seeing another game out there by another company use the episodic thing is cool. I wish more games would do it since it does get you talking and discussing stuff and makes the game last longer.

Capcom probably liked how Telltale have done it with TWDG and got inspired by it to do. It'll be interesting to see if they actually do a little talk show thing too. I wonder who they will get as a presenter on it...
