  • Great episode!

But was anyone else confused by what Tyreese did at the end? Like, don't get me wrong, I love the guy. But he killed that guy with the bound hands who threatened to kill Judith when he clearly didn't have to kill him. He could've just beaten him unconscious, or anything. And when Tyreese is beating him, the guy says, "Yeah. That's how it works."" And Tyreese keeps saying, "I won't! I won't!"...As in, you won't kill him Tyreese? Because then, you do.... And later Tyreese says to Carol, "I--I had to. So I did. I could." Uh, no, you didn't have to....Am I missing something here?

  • I get the feeling Tyreese DID NOT kill him, and that its going to bite him in the ass later. Probably just beat him into submission. And there's no way that's the end of the Terminites. Rule one of any Walking Dead media: No one is dead until you see a body.

Ah yeah that would make more sense; didn't even consider that. Lol a little brain-dead here. I wonder what Tyresse did with him.

  • I saw the episode yesterday, and I loved it! Carol was very impressive in it! One of my favorite episodes since 'The Grove.'

I almost gave up on the show after Lori and Andrea died in Season Three (I felt like they were killing off characters just to make us depressed, and no meaning behind their deaths. Plus, the Woodbury storyline was not interesting to me at all).

Season Four, however, redeemed my love of the show. Especially with 'The Grove.'

Basically, Season Four was my favorite, followed by Season Two, then Three, finally, One.

  • Why do you think he'd lie about that?

  • He doesnt like to kill but when he's pushed, he goes a little berzerker. Look at that episode right after Karen and David are killed. He almost beat Rick to death over nothing. Multiply that by what he must have been feeling when that guy threatened to break Judith's neck. I think he absolutely killed him.

  • He's fallen once or twice. They're not going to risk their stars getting hurt.

That's true Tyreese can get really angry. But I think Black-Op1 is right. The show-Tyreese hasn't ever killed someone except for some people attacking the prison during the Governor's raid, and I don't think he killed that hand-bound Terminus guy (whose name is Martin) either. In the premiere when he says, "I--I had to. So I did. I could," he's stuttering, indicating he could be lying to Carol. To answer your question to Black-Op1 before, I think he lied here because he knew if he didn't lie, then Carol would go inside and kill Martin for sure. And Tyreese didn't want that. (I think Tyreese is still uneasy about killing another human if he doesn't have to. He was able to forgive Carol after she confessed to killing Karen, a crime that Rick banished her for.) Also in the premiere, when the rest of the group comes up to the little house, Tyreese is shown stepping out, holding Judith, and closing the door. Almost as if he's hiding something.

  • I dont think he was lying. I think that reaction was him coming to terms with what he's capable of. He has always shied away from killing but now he knows he can do it if he has to. He might not be comfortable with it, but he can do it to protect the ones he cares about. I cant fathom why he would protect this guy after what he did. As for coming out of the porch, I think that was purely so that he and Judith could be seen and their loved ones could run to them. I really dont think that Martin guy is coming back, but I guess we will know for sure at the end of the season.

  • Lol I still disagree with you. I don't think he'd make a decision to kill an unarmed person like that so quickly. Actually it would be a pretty good continuation of his arc for them to explore that. Like in the future, Carol could expect Tyreese to kill a questionably-guilty person without hesitation, but he won't be able to do it, and Carol will wonder what's going on, as she thinks he's done it before. Remember (back when Tyreese first joined the show) Tyreese was the one arguing with Alan and Ben to not kill Rick's group and to not try to take over the prison when Carl brought them in. Not that this is the same situation at all, but it shows Tyreese's unwillingness to kill, even when he might "have to." Oh and also another detail--at the end of the premiere, Tyreese makes a small physical movement to stop Carol from going inside the shack, holding a hand on her or putting his hand up for a moment; I don't remember which.

He has always shied away from killing but now he knows he can do it if he has to.

But he totally didn't have to kill Martin in this situation. He could've just knocked him out, tied him up even tighter so he couldn't even move, and then watched him unblinkingly with gun and knife in hand until Carol came back. Anyway. Don't want to start a debate with you lol. But I think you're right; we'll find out later.

I dont see any good reason for him to pretend to kill the guy when he didn't but that's fine. We can agree to disagree.

  • I was playing the trivia game on the AMC website for S5E1 and there was question about Morgan. After you answer it showed the scene of him by the sign Rick wrote No sanctuary on. And it said that Morgan showed up there months after Ricks group went through. Anyone else seen anything about a time skip?

  • No, but I guess it's possible. There's really no timeline on Morgan's appearance. I assumed it was right after Rick's group left the area but it could be months later.

  • Just finished watching it, Carol kicked total ass as well as Rick

  • Sorry late reply. But yeah, like Sialark already said, Tyreese kind of stumbled through his explanation. Plus, Ty had a knife in his hand when he pinned the guy, could've just stabbed him over and over if he was in full berserker mode. Instead he meaningfully throws the knife away and starts punching him while shouting "I won't", than keeps Carol from going inside and checking his homework. Why? Because he wanted to prove to this guy that killing isn't necessary, and letting Carol finish the job would've nerfed that point.

And like I said, No onscreen death = Probably not dead .

  • Sasha and Bob are so friggin' cute together. Now that right there was a rare moment in the walking dead universe, a new couple being playful.

  • I like them a hell of a lot more than I like Glenn and Maggie. I hate romance between two characters who have no meaning beyond their romantic feelings for each other..... if that makes any sense. Like, the entire time Maggie was out looking for Glenn, she never once mentioned her sister (I binged watched Season 4 right before the season premier, NOT ONCE). Those two are literally all about each other, and its more frustrating than it is heart warming.

  • I like the Glenn and Maggie relationship in season 2 and parts of season 3, but in season 4 I grew totally sick of them to the point where I can't stand there characters. Especially Glenn.
