Who did you chose to go with?
In my first playthrough I went alone with AJ. I'll share my opinion about Kenny and Jane and why I exactly decided to go alone with AJ.
My opinion about Kenny:
Pros +
- Kenny promised Clementine that he wouldn't do anything like what he did to Arvo again.
- Kenny was / is a good man.
- Shows up a good fight
Neutral information ~
- Kenny constantly tries to keep his reputation "neutral" with whoever he interacts with / his surroundings
- Example: Gives Clementine the walkie talkie even if Clementine refuses and later takes the blame for it.
- Example 2: Accidently interacted with Lee and caused him to drop the walkie talkie, and later he goes and gets it
- Example 3: Gets REALLY mad at people or hurts Clementine's feelings and apologies later that day.
- Example 4: Shouts at Arvo "This is your fucking fault!" and Bonnie then says to Kenny "It's your fault and you damn well know it". Kenny then thinks about what he has done wrong.
- and it goes on...
Cons -
- He broke the promise to Clementine that it wouldn't happen again (he attacked Jane)
- He's dangerous / can be uncontrollable in emotional situations.
- He felt like a liability quite often
He forces / manipulates others to do various tasks.
- A "funny" example: In season 1, Carley actually called Kenny "boss" after Kenny gave orders.
- Example 2: forces Clementine to get the walkie talkies "it's you or no one, so you're nominated" while Sarah is sitting there, she surely doesn't weights a lot more than Clementine.
He always has to be loud... he just can't shut up sometimes. I wish he thought more before doing anything and talked less...
- When he gets mad it escalates to rage.
My opinion about Jane:
Pros +
- She know how to survive against walkers
- Warns Clementine about certain mistakes she encountered in her life.
Neutral information ~
- Cold and has a negative attitude.
Cons -
I have a feeling that Jane is obsessed with Clementine.
- Example 1: at the end of episode 5 when you choose to shoot Kenny and leave Jane, she says: "Clementine I NEED you"
- Example 2: at the firefight in episode 5 you can pick certain dialogues and end up with Jane saying: "You were 99% of the reason that I came back"
I personally don't trust Jane. She might be nice and protective but I ain't falling for that. I know what she's capable of. and we all saw it at the end of episode 5.
She's very negative and cold, dialogues such as: Clementine: "Sarah's glasses!" Jane: "She's dead. I'm sorry." "Clementine stop, Luke is dead" something in the area. She just gives up when the odds aren't in her favor. I mean, she takes the worst case scenario every time without hesitation.
- Oh hey luke's trapped under the ice. Hes dead. Fuck him
- Those are sarah's glasses. well shes dead. I'm sorry.
- Sarah can't get up. Shes dead. lets go
I have the strangest feelings that she is tricking everyone with her stories. Some might be true but I'm still not sure of her.
- I say she's deceiving everyone. we all saw what she did with the baby. Who knows what else she had in plan?
She's not good with babies / social etc, she's more of a survivalist loner.
The main reason why I went away from Kenny and Jane because they both got me in trouble. Jane got me in a way shot (threatend Arvo etc), Kenny almost got me killed with the walkie talkie "mission". Well they both told me to do several tasks for me, like they all fucking wan't a piece of Clementine.
Some quick examples:
So what did I do at the ending of episode 5 you ask me? I've let Kenny kill Jane because Jane shouldn't have lied about the baby just to prove a point to Clementine ( I obviously knew what was going on when Jane said that Clementine shouldn't get in the middle of it )
Then I shot Kenny because he broke a promise and he became a "murderer".
If one looks back in what he has done, one might think that he has made the wrong choice. Why?
- Now you're alone with AJ. Are you capable of surviving alone with a new born? ( They surprisingly survived for 9 days after the event )
- Did Jane and / or Kenny really had to die?
In a zombie apocalypse you also have to think about someone's perks.
- Jane didn't had many good ones, besides knowing a thing or two about walkers.
- Kenny had good and bad perks.
Well those are my opinions. I'll add more pros and cons tomorrow, I don't have much time now.
Feel free to correct my points of perception if you think that they are out of place, I didn't explained most of my points very precisely as I should have. I'll try to improve this tomorrow.
One thing before I go...
Please don't make this a Kenny vs. Jane thread, I'm trying to avoid that. Thanks!
EDIT :
I don't have much time lately, so I won't be able to update my pros & cons any time soon.

Well when u have the option to shoot kenny its just sad that he says just do it (btw i chose to go with kenny) so if i was you i probs left clem and aj at wellington where its gonna be safe
It was my first playthrough and I didn't know that if you went with Kenny you would find "Wellington" and had an option to stay there. It would've been a better place, yes maybe. I don't know what's going to happen to Wellington, but what if they get raided next season? we just don't know what the situation is within those walls.
I did this as well my canon play through and loved it because it was very dark
When I played I reached Wellington with Kenny and then left with him. I know Kenny had lots of problems but loosing his eye and girlfriend so recently would mess him up badly. I find Kenny's reaction to death of loved ones better than most. Rebbeca doesnt seem to care when Alvin is dead and Same when Luke finds out Nick is dead. Infact Rebecca seems to be more sad when Sarah is dead if you left her behind than Alvin.
I stayed with Kenny. At least in my experience I never felt betrayed by him.
I think that's as simple of a version I can cook it down to, there's a lot of other emotions and actions behind it, but I think that's the deciding factor for me.
There's a whole thread dedicated to giving your opinion on these characters and the choice between them.
With all respect, friend... but do you really think Sarah - considering her personality - would be able to steal a walkie-talkie and avoid getting caught?
Everyone is getting a free upvote for expressing his or her opinion on this thread!
Edit :
No of course not. but what I really meant by that statement is that Kenny was all like: "You're nominated" against Clementine and I've thought about this before I made that statement, I didn't meant to come over like that.
I picked Jane.
The thing is... playing Season 1 tells you Kenny's backstory while Jane gets only pieces of a backstory.
Yes, you're right, if only the weight could decide, she would fit almost as well as Clementine. It's actually interesting to imagine Sarah taking over Clem's "duties".
With Kenny, I could tell Jane was trying to do something so that's what happens when you lie to the hat and I stayed with Kenny because I want to proove to him that he's a good guy and I don't think Wellington will work out...
So you picked her because you want to see more?
Aj is the only person left that my clem can trust
I picked Kenny. He has been through enough, losing his family, girlfriend, his friends... I mean let's put ourselves in his position, everyone will lose it at some point. His love for Clem and Aj is somehow honest and he takes them as his own children. Overall, I would say that Kenny may in fact be one of the most well written character in gaming history imo and probably he's one of the most realistic character in the game.
OK, so I've never understood this. In my opinion Luke's death wasn't really anyone's fault (unless you insist that Clem could have prevented it by warning Luke of the crack or Bonnie being a dumbass). After all, it's not like Arvo and Kenny running on the ice impacted Luke falling through it in any way.
Trying to blame Kenny for the death will always go through Arvo as an intermediate, at which point it is simpler to blame him for the death.
I chose to go with Jane and turned the random family away.
I think that Luke tried to run because of it and then the ice started to break
Nah dawg, dat little trickster is cookin' up something nasty in that wicked head of his..
With all respect, but why did you chose to go with Jane? I'm curious :P
I went with Jane then I let the family in.
I knew Kenny was going to stab her if I looked away and my gut instinct was to try and stop it.
Well i dont think wellington is bad because they give out free supply bags and with the amount of people it sounds like they have i doubt theyll get raided
I went with Jane and told Randy to hit the bricks. If he wants me to help his family he should have kept his hands where I can see them.
A.J. in Wellington. It was so, so, so hard to leave Kenny. I knew I had to, but I was with him for so long, and I felt a strong connection to him since season 1. Somehow, just... I hope Kenny pulls through. I cried myself to sleep that night. :I
I didn't make a concious decision to go with anyone. It's not like I saw "Go with Kenny" or "Go With Jane" as options.
I shot Kenny in the heat of the moment, and left Jane in the heat of the moment. I'm not going to justify my actions.
Going alone witha squalling baby just seems suicidal really in my opinion
I ended up with Jane and the family, you cant give up on people
I sided with Kenny, as I did as Lee; in Season 1.
Kenny had shown that he was loyal.
He protected Clementine, even at great cost to himself.
No, by the above, I meant that there are allot of factors from Kenny's backstory that help influence our choice between the two, with Jane we really don't know much about her story. What we know Kenny has been through VS what we know Jane has been through.
Anyways, why can't I choose a character to get to know more about them? Any reason to pick a character is valid as it is your story and your decisions are solely yours to make, in fact no reason is necessary at all.
After the way she manipulated me, I didn't want to have anything to do with her.
I'm at Howe's with Jane and the strange "family." Kenny was going to murder Jane in cold blood for something that at the time could have been something out of her control. I couldn't handle seeing Kenny do that. I thought he had been through enough tbh. The writers forced him to repeat his arc in Season 1 all over again.
At first I ended up with Jane but the pity and regret were eating me out so I stated it as my biggest mistake and rewinded to get another ending. I'm glad that I picked the Kenny ending.
If Kenny killed Jane because he thought she killed the baby and you killed Kenny because he killed Jane, shouldn't someone now kill Clem because she killed Kenny?
Which one?
I picked Kenny because I feel him like my family.Loyalty over survival.
The one where Clementine leaves with Kenny.
I wanted to leave with him too, but I stayed in Wellington. Damn hat convinced me.
I was not judging your choice, I was just curious. Relax.
I saved Jane because I would've felt guilty if I just watched her die, and I went with her because I figured that was better than Clementine being alone.
also, lol at this "not being a Kenny vs. Jane thread" when you really don't like Jane that much.
