I just got the first 3 volumes of the comics off amazon and I wanted to know your guys opinions of them? I can't wait till they come though!

Much better than the show, no illogical moments and no wasting time in stupid places like the farm. Characters are much better too imo.
No illogical moments? What comics did you read?
But I agree that they are overall better, though I didn't like anything after Volume 14 or something.
Prefer the show to the newer volumes, definitley.
Generally excellent. Yes, far stronger than the show and lots of fantastic moments and storylines. You have some real treats ahead. One thing that is great too is the pacing when you've got them in volumes like that. Once I caught up with the comics, I found the monthly drip feed nowhere near as satisfying so I've stopped reading it at the moment to let a batch build up.

The comics are very good. They're much more gory (and better IMHO) than the show. Definitely worth reading.
Don't get me started. Compendium One just arrived for me Friday, fast forward to today, and I'm already on Chapter Six! I can't put it down, it's amazing, alot better character development in my opinion. The show and the comic are so different, it's unreal. No spoiler, but Tyreese in the comics is so much more developed in the comics than the show, same thing with many other characters also. A lot more gore as well, and a lot more plot twists and turns you will never expect. Robert Kirkman and his crew are the masters of the page turner, if you read a page from any Walking Dead comic, you're going to want to read the next one. It's an amazing piece of literature, and I think the latest issue actually came out today.
They're awesome. I have the two compendiums, and I read issue #133 today. Shit is getting real, definitely an awesome comic series.
believe the hype
Just for an opinion that isn't positive, I didn't like the first volume at all, the art was great but eh...
I didn't care for any of the characters and the whole thing with Shane felt weird and too forced, I don't know, I just thought it was pretty bad, supposedly it gets better and I'm going to read a few more volumes eventually now that I'm a fan of the game but you know, I'd tone down my excitement if I were you.
I did read it before I played the game though, I re-read it like a month ago because I thought maybe being so hyped from the game would make me like it more, but nope still don't like it.
In any case I hope you enjoyed them and I've been told that supposedly volume 3 is pretty good but in any case just lower your expectations a bit, maybe that way it'll even surprise you or something.
