Why Clem always has a hat

Comments

  • From a writing perspective it's a neat little way of making Clem iconic and instantly identifiable.

  • Because her dad gave it to her. If that's what you're asking.

Because it has a lot of sentimental value to her. It's probably the last think she has left of her life before the apocalypse, so of course it would matter to her.

  • Because it's a hat, hats are, hats, and hats, are uh, hats, and hats do... stuffs... and thangs... yeah, hats, hats are uh... hats, and erh... hats are hatty, and you wear them, like hats, and stuff, and hats, and thangs, and hats and stuff. hats, yeah, hats, uhmm.. hats?

People with hats are immortal in the game.

You'll see next season when Kenny is the canon choice and Nick shows up out of nowhere....

    You'll see.....

  • It would sure add alot of drama if clementines hat was burned.

  • She should lose it in S3, and get a determinant option to wear Kenny's.

Realistically, she should've lost it a long time ago, when she fell in the river in episode 1. But then again it's just a game and it's not like it changes anything in the story. I like her hat and I hope she'll never lose it because it has so much meaning. It's the only thing she has left of her family and of her childhood.

  • She glued her hat after Lee's death so she never would've lose it again.

    Prove:

Gets taken by the river, still has her hat on when on shore.

  • Its surgically been attached to her head.

Whenever I wear a cap it falls off every now and then, Clementine's hat just sort of stays in the same position the entire time....

    Telltale logic

  • This needs to be done!

  • I'd be down for that.

  • Because she doesn't like having short hair.

  • Because this hat has some protective powers. Also whoever touch it died soon after that. Except for Kenny because he has his own hat. But let's face the truth - she should've lost this hat long time ago and... who am I kidding? Her hat is awesome!

  • Because before the apocalypse Clem played a lot of TF2, and she doesn't want to forget her memories of the game. So she promised herself that she will wear a hat to remember the game.

  • The question is more : How is this hat still fits on her head after 3/5 years ????

2-3 years. It still can fits because it was her dad's hat. He gave it to her. Actually he borrowed this hat but whatever.

  • She was originally supposed to lose her hat in the river, and when she'd encounter Sam, he'd have the hat in his mouth.

  • Well I shot Kenny, so he can die, but that means he might die later if it hasn't happened to the Kenny in your playthrough yet! Face it, he's doomed.

Probably but let's face it - everyone will die eventually.

  • I didn't know that! That would've been great! I wonder why they decided to remove it from the game.

  • video games break the logic rules that we have. characters have been shown defying gravity

series 1 Lee's car crash, everything inside the car was thrown around but not Lee himself. Clementine falls in the river, yeah her hat should have fallen of but it didn't. Most movies and video games breaks those rules why? because if they didn't how can they create fictional story the viewer can get lost into.

  • Because it's the last thing she has of her family.

  • Its interesting that Ed said Clementine could just "borrow" he's hat, this was revealed in final trailer for episode 5.

Clem said that her father give it her in episode 1 of series 1. whatever is truth is it showed Clementine's snarkness at a young age.

  • It's a hatcrab.

Amid The Ruins would have been a lot cooler had Clem lost her hat then...

  • I adore her hat. So symbolic.

  • Really? They said that?

  • I have a Clementine hat.

I sleep with it at night.

  • actually her dad did not give her the hat if you seen the teaser trailer that they showed before episode 5 came out he let her borrow the hat she was suppose to give it back to him when they got back from vacation

  • but yea before episode 5 came out it was a little teaser which they gave us that showed that in it

  • ok never mind I was a little wrong he did not say he wanted the hat back when he got back but he did tell her that she could borrow his hat and he tells her not to get it dirty

  • Why wasn't this done? It would of been amazing!

  • Yeah, unused audio files confirm this.
