*Evil Laugh* TAINTED MEEEAAAAAT!!!

So... was Bob's leg meat tainted?

I don't think Gareth and his crew lived long enough for us to find out. Were they tainted? Or were they fine? What do you think?

Bob was bit during day light, later on it's night when he lost the leg. So that would give enough time to infect the bloodstream and flesh. I mean when we looked at Lee, hours later he looked pale as a ghost. Pretty sure they were gonna turn. So much for that comfort zone, huh, Gareth?

    RIP Bob.

The thread is about Ep3 of TWD S5, this scene lead to the events of his fate in the same episode. Obviously the discussion of the episode was gonna happen the moment it was brought up. Plus wasn't this thread under a spoiler tag? If you didn't want to get spoiled, don't click on the thread..

Its your fault because you should of instantly known what this thread was based on the title. How could you not know!

"It's not tainted meat! It's painted meat!"

(I probably need to catch up on the show. I stopped watching it around the middle of Season 3 or so...)

  • Season 3 was really lame. So were episodes 6, 7, and 8 of Season 4. The rest of Season 4, and the first three episodes of Season 5 have been really good.

  • I watched 5-1 this weekend.

It was intense, a little over the top,

you should just skip season 3, 4 and go right to 5. That is what i did.

  • Actually I have a question... if you're so angry on the spoilers, why is it just me you're arguing with? Poked mentioned Bob had tainted meat, and it wasn't revealed till Ep3 of S5. Shouldn't you also be nagging him too? Looks like you got something against me in particular.

  • Season 4 was pretty good honestly, just not episodes 6, 7, and 8. The Season 4 finale was probably the best episode of the Season.

  • The whole "not again" part imo was a little Over the top, i feel real bad for women sometimes.

  • If you're referring to the part where it shows the termites in the train car, I believe near the end of the episode, then yes it definitely was a bit over the top. At the same time though, it wasn't something I would expect not to happen.

  • Glad yet surprised they chopped Gareth so quickly. I wanted him to last longer because he was a creepy villain. But at the same time I had a feeling Rick was going to end him with the red machete so I'm glad he died and yet I'm not.

Also I knew we were gonna get the tainted meat line, it was awesome. R.I.P Bob.

  • i just feel like that scene was a little disrespectful toward women. Imagine if your a girl and you have been in that situation.

You didn't miss much. The show starts off amazing with Season 1 and 2. It then free falls starting with Season 3. I hear the director changed.

  • I would like to think that Gareth's group would have eventually turned into zombies, hopefully following some invisible rules in TWD universe on how this disease works, but ya never know. Person gets bit, carrion gets in you system mixing with the disease that's already inside you meaning that you will eventually turn into a zombie depending on your health conditions or maybe your will to live. Then people start eating you alive and the process repeats all over again, except this time it's a living persons tainted meat inside a healthy, but infected with the disease person's body(that sounded weird I know).

  • Remember when in S1 episode 2, mark wants to shoot this bird that was feeding on corpses. I never understood his logic.

  • I always wondered about the animals in TWD universe. Animals probably don't have the disease that reanimates corpses (zombie animals would be awesome though), but since they eat or pick at dead bodies that obviously do have the disease then those who eat that said animal will probably have a bad day, but I don't think they ever shown any characters eat wild animals except like bunnies or squirrels.

  • If that Eugene is correct, or from what I gather at what he said at Terminus, it was a biological weapon that caused walkers? Maybe engineered to kill and reanimate humans.

  • I know some diseases are transferable from people to humans. Ie ) Ebola was transferred to people, when Africans started eating " bush" meat ie) Rats, bats, every other disgusting thing you could think of.

Is Eugene the guy who was talking Government conspiracy? That guy is out of his mind. Its a anti antigen virus! It destroys infected, seems complicated almost unrealistic. Personally i wouldn't be heading to Washington.

  • Imagine you're anyone and you've been in any adverse situation the show depicts. I don't think it's disrespectful to stay true to the darker sides of humanity on a show about just that. It's not like they were advocating rape.

  • Wait episode 8 of s4 was lame? Isn't that too far gone where the governor attacks the prison again? imo that's the best episode.

Season 3 was really lame. So were episodes 6, 7, and 8 of Season 4. The rest of Season 4, and the first three episodes of Season 5 have been really good.

  • That's why it was lame. They brought the Governator back. He was far too unrealistic for me. I mean, he gets shot in the arm with a .44 magnum, and then uses that arm to beat and choke Rick.

Idk if Garteh and Crew are screwed , Probably but then again it was cooked so I guess it depends on how the virus works...

  • Eugene did say that if he died before activating the anti-virus, nobody would be able to activate it. So it must be very complex.

Why would Eugene go to Washington for no reason?

Rick is the most badass mofo in the Walking Dead universe.

"... and a machete with a red handle... that's what I'm gonna use to kill you."

    2 days later

"I can't let you go. I made you a promise.:

proceeds to chop Gareth up into little pieces with the machete with the red handle

  • We will never know and i'm fine with that.

  • One of the best moments in the show.

Rick is the most badass mofo in the Walking Dead universe. "... and a machete with a red handle... that's what I'm gonna use to kill you.

  • Uhm....Well, basing my information in combination of the show and the comics, I would say maybe, since it was never specified in the comics. You see, Rick actually killed the hunters (They were not given specific names or anything, since the show gave it a much much bigger arch.) before they could show any signs of changing. It was only about a few hours into the day when they strolled by and murdered all the cannibals.

  • He had to come back and destroy the prison to advance the story and stay true to the comics. Honestly season 3 should have ended that way instead of it happening mid season 4.

  • I too, thought the group became tainted after they ate his meat. Rick did 'em a service of ending them so quickly. (fortunately and unfortunately) After all, Rick is a down-to-earth kind of guy.

  • Honestly season 3 should have ended that way instead of it happening mid season 4.
