Opinions on Lilly? [STRAWPOLL]
I was wondering what the general consensus is on Lilly. Personally, I sympathize with her and have the heart to forgive her for what she did to Carley/Doug considering her dad was murdered, and also taking into account the fact she had very little sleep leading up to the event. Lee murdered out of anger too, yet he ended up determinately being a great man.
Let's not forget she's actually the character who interacts and cares for Clementine more than anyone else from the original drug store group with the exception of Lee. We see her playing with her, looking after her, and we also know that she gave her some hair-bands.
She's a good woman in my book. Just flawed. My third favourite character of the entire series.

I would never forgive her for what she did.
Bitch. (For what she did)
Hate her. I also don't understand why people say she's attractive\hot, I don't think she is, but that's just me...
TeamLilly4Ever!
I like her and I forgive for what Kenny made she did to Carley/Doug
Well, I wouldn't go as far as saying she's hot but I'd consider her attractive. xd I like her attitude and she's far from ugly imo.
Katjaa, Duck, Ben, Chuck, Molly, Omid, Christa.
When did this happen? I don't remember the two exchanging a single line of dialogue.
YES. If Telltale were to bring an old character back in Season 3 for some ungodly reason I'd want it to be Lilly.
The only time we saw them together was in Jolenes Tape it shows Lilly with Clem. Then Clem says in Episode 3 Lilly gave hee some hair thingees
True, but Lee regrets what he did and redeems himself by taking of Clem.
But you could forgive Lee. ^^ I know people generally see themselves as Lee and don't care about his past but if you think about it he murdered someone out of petty revenge before the ZA had started. That's much worse than what Lilly did imo... Just something to consider. I wonder if you'd forgive her if she went on to die in a heroic manner as Lee did.
HATE. HER. I hated that she shot Carley for an insult, and even when I forgave her, she steals the truck.
Lee's situation was different, and I didn't even know anything about Lee's wife. Also he saw her cheating with the senator, unlike Lilly who shot someone over no proof.
I love Lilly!
That's what I was about to say, Christa and Omid watched after Clem more than Lilly, (excluding the hair things, although Ben gave her stickers, Chuck gave her candy, and Carley\Doug gave her batteries.)
They don't exchange much dialogue at all, but on Jolene's recording you can see them both talking and drawing together. They obviously had a relationship off-camera too which we know from the hairbands. Topping that off, Clem must have trusted Lilly a lot as she hides behind her in Starved for Help and even holds her hand IIRC.
We don't see that much direct care from any of the other characters you mentioned. Only Katjaa comes close.
Well, out of the drug store group I'd say she's the one who looks out for Clem the most then. Saying she cared more than anyone in Season 1 is indeed debatable.
I thought the game made it pretty clear that Clem was pretty good friends Duck and Ben, what with her teasing by putting bugs under Duck's pillow and Ben giving her stickers to put on her walkie-talkie. Chuck gave her candy, told Lee to keep her safe by cutting her hair and teaching her how to shoot and ultimately gives his life to save her. Clem is really sad if Molly doesn't come back with you and say that she liked her. Lee calls Omid Clem's favorite and Christa exchanges more lines of dialogue with Clem than any other aside from Lee.
Let me stop you right there. No it wasn't :P
Lee's situation was far worse. Lilly killed Doug/Carley because she thought they were threatening the safety of everyone in the group during a zombie apocalypse in which moral lines are blurred whereas Lee just murdered the senator over adultery before society's collapse, when in reality he might not have even known about Lee's existence or anything. Could have been a great guy for all we know.
Let me stop you right there. No it wasn't :P
Drug store/motel group then. Duck really doesn't count seeing as he's a kid and didn't exactly look out for Clem per say. Ben just abandoned Clementine to the walkers and never seemed to give a shit.
Lilly took off with the RV and left Clem and the others stranded in the middle of nowhere. She also executed someone in front of Clem.
I don't get it either. I personally found Lily quite ugly.
Anyway, I don't like her.
After promising (determinant) to take Lee and Clem with her.
Explain. It's even implied that Lee beat the guy to death. They 'got into a fight.'
Well I already did, Lilly did it over nothing which makes hers worse. She literally had NO proof they did anything yet she killed Carley/ attempted to kill Ben and killed Doug in the process. Lee did it out of anger and he had a reason, although not a good one, he still had one.
I'm certainly not just going to automatically forgive her if she comes back, but I'm not going to write her off as completely irredeemable either. If she's truly repentant for what she did and does good things going forward, eventually, she might earn back the trust she broke. But I'm not holding my breath that 2 additional years in an apocalypse made her better.
I hate her, and kill her.
They both had reasons. Try and see it more from her perspective. Her dad died, she was extremely distressed, someone had betrayed the group and got people killed, and she was sleep deprived. She was scared, upset and tired... She wanted to remove the threat from the group... She then instantly regretted her decision. Lee knocked up some dude out of rage when he could have been civilized.
I'm not saying what Lee did was completely wrong, or what Lilly did was right... But really, could you not forgive her for it taking all of that into consideration? c:
Left them with a huge ass train in front of 'em, aye. The execution was wrong, I don't deny that, but damn, considering what she went through... It's understandable.
A huge ass train that she had no reason to believe they could get working again. And no, it's not understandable to repay mercy with treachery. It's the same as the deal with Arvo.
She was still paranoid. She clearly thought she was gonna end up being left for the walkers, so she got the fuck out. It wasn't right. It was horrendous. But I could forgive it. I was all for stepping out of the way and letting her leave... My Lee told her to go. I felt really sorry for her... I know I'd probably act in a similar way, not to mention she reminded me so much of my mum.
You tell me to look at it from Lilly's perspective yet you simplify Lee's perspective. :P
But, yeah, I could forgive her too. Not easily, but it's possible.
In your other post you literally took Lilly's situation and put it in sunshine and rainbows with a cherry on top. Lilly killed someone for NO REASON. Plain and simple.
That's Lee perspective put in a biased, good light. The reality of his situation was beating someone to death when he had no real reason to other than revenge. It confuses me that people consider that more acceptable than what Lilly did... Seems odd.
Yeah, I mean, I'm not arguing that what she did was right. But everything's morally ambiguous and fucked within an apocalypse. If I can forgive Lee, then I can forgive her too. On my first playthrough I was so fucking angry to the point that I ditched her on the road without a second thought. But having thought about it for ages now...It was just a shitty situation. I'd forgive her, but she'd have to do something to earn it.
As a character, I can appreciate how well written Lilly was and found a lot of enjoyment exploring the depth of her various layers and how those were used to shape her role in the story.
As a person, I sincerely hope Lilly is rotting in a ditch somewhere. =P
Really interesting seeing these Strawpoll results. The community seems extremely split so far.
