They had enough "evidence" to support the claim that the sun was a powerful God at one time. I'm not criticizing, I just find it humorous that people accept the current scientific stance of the universe as more or less substantiated truth when it's more than likely just another stepping stone.
Why are you criticizing, if you even didnt watch the entire video? Science doesnt claim any of its theories to be absolute facts, so i cant … moresee what you find so funny about that claim. Current view of the universe simply has stronger evidence to support it, making it more likely to be true.
"In science, there is no reasonable doubt, no black and white, and even the most established theory can be challenged and falsified as part of the scientific process."
It is the important thing, you might not know it, but Judaism believes that as well.
The rightous person according to God is judged by:
50% his belief in God.
50% being morally rightous.
That means that if you are a good person, who always tried to do good, but still don't believe in God, you will most likely be judged better than a corrupted religious person who sins on a daily basis.
Hitler wasn't really religious btw, he even made people praise him as if he was God, that is reffered to as Cult of personality, which is on a side note, something God condemns more than most forms of sin, if Hitler was really religious, he wouldn't've been who he was and done what he did anyway, because his behaviour, life and actions contradict the Bible in almost every way imaginable.
I won't start with the topic of Hitler being religious (I also condemn him). And, yes, techniclly, Hitler (with other people, such as Gandhi… more, Mandela, Lenin, George Washington, etc.) is a human just like you and I. But, still, I never said that all humans are the same. We are all evil in the root, some more the others. For your type of people, he is in somewhere worse. For me he is dead, long gone and has one of the worst reputations there is for a human being.
Abortion is a story for another time.
I'm going to quote what I said in the begining:
* Athiesm and thiesm are true, but none of them are right. Nobody has to have a God to judge what is right and wrong, the important thing is that everybody needs to know what is right and what is wrong. So, yeah, the topic in this thread is about "Real Life Choices", not opinions. Thank you.
It's not a flawed premise. Most people can form their own moral values without religious pressures. BUT:
One can even argue that, because there is only one shot at life, that valuing the livelihood of others becomes even more precious.
That argument falls on deaf ears to those who find that the meaning of others' lives is as meaningless as their own since everything is on path to desolation, including humanity.
I'm not saying the number of cruel acts by people would increase if the world converted to purely atheist/agnostic views (probably the direct opposite actually), just that the outbursts committed by those who believe as I previously stated would most definitely increase.
That's a bit of a flawed premise. A lot of people can form their moral values without the help of religion. One can even argue that, becau… morese there is only one shot at life, that valuing the livelihood of others becomes even more precious.
For example, Walter's reaction makes sense to me as that of someone who doesn't believe they'll see their loved ones again.
This world is hell. People like Matthew aren't coming back. THIS IS IT. And now he's GONE!
I dunno. Clem and Kenny both believe in an afterlife where they can see their loved ones again, probably because it's their coping mechanism. Personally, I lean on the more cynical side of things and say that life, no matter how miserable, is still a better fate than the cannibalistic humiliation that is undeath. That carrying on is always a better choice than just giving up.
It is the important thing, you might not know it, but Judaism believes that as well.

Yes, but you need to know that it's all up to God in the end, and if you end up believing in him, his judgment would be the only one you'll get
I believe that if you are a good person, if you avoid the abominations of God, don't give in to the easy temptations of this world (drugs, lust etc) and contribute to other people, charity, and just generally be loving to humans as they are, you will be good in God's eyes.
But don't take my word as God's will, I'm saying what I know from the Bible, the direct word of God, he might still judge you for not beliving in him, if you want to know why it's important for him to believe in you, look at the answers I gave Golden Paladin

Did you miss the point that the fellow made light of my religion. If people want to sit there and convince themselves that they are smarter than 2 billion people in this world, that's fine. Expect criticism when people come in with a belittling attitude, about how much smarter Atheists think they are.
You still didn't answer my question about living in a Muslim country and how do you think they would react when you talk in a critical way of their religion.
So edgy. Are you still in high school?
Funerals are not for the loved ones who've already moved on. They're for the survivors who need … moreto grieve over the people they've lost.
I don't want to be vindictive, but I'm willing to bet you won't be so smug when you lose someone from your family. You may have been lucky not to have had that loss yet, but have empathy for those who have.
Did you miss the point that the fellow made light of my religion. If people want to sit there and convince themselves that they are smarter than 2 billion people in this world, that's fine.
I saw that but insulting the other side doesn't give any credibility to you as it does to them.
Expect criticism when people come in with a belittling attitude, about how much smarter Atheists think they are.
Expect criticism when you do the same thing with....anybody....You should have gave a rebuttal rather than insulting someone.
You still didn't answer my question about living in a Muslim country and how do you think they would react when you talk in a critical way of their religion.
We are talking about Christianity, so that doesn't help your cause.

You can have an operation, but as someone who believes in God and doesn't believe in transgendering morally, I wouldn't do it.
But if it makes you feel good about yourself... Hell, do it.
Thanks I really appreciate it. My Dad's death is actually one of the reasons why I really like Sarah. I was extremely close with my father like she was and was also a bit sheltered (though not to the extent that she was) so I can heavily relate her and thanks for the kind words and support.
If it's worth something it seems like you made the right choice regardless of how hard it was, that kind of stuff is never easy though.
S… moreorry for asking I am a curious person, if you want to talk about it or if there's anything I can do to help I wouldn't mind.
I'm going to be travelling today though so I probably won't have constant access to the Internet so if I don't say anything that's probably why.
Science works differently now than back then so i dont see your point. They had very limited data back then, so it was the best conclusion they could come up with. Its was nothing else than a guess, not scientific fact.

You are over exautuarting the fact. Also bananas don't grow on mars and the monkey needs water to live. There is no water on mars and the monkey would need a form of travel to get to you. And it can't build it so therefore it can't give it to you.
Actually. In theory if I tracked you down and searched everywhere you have ever been or anything you have given to anyone I could find the magic 8 ball.
The guy that did it, got away with it. Destroyed my family to the point my mom worried herself to death, and my father died shortly after. After that i spent some time with my fiance only to find out she was cheating on me with a friend of mine. So at that moment i realized i was alone. No trust.
I enlisted shortly after. My reason for going, because i didn't care what happened. I wanted to get away. I came back someone else.
A lot of people seem to believe because they want to and for no other good reason. That's a dangerous way of operating, but it is what it is.
None of this wouldn't have started if that one person hadn't tried to undermine the 1st commenter's loss by claiming, as if it were fact, that his brother hadn't really died, but that he was in a magical invisible land in the sky. I know he wasn't trying to be rude when he said that, but it was rude, none the less, and it's what started this whole mess
God sent his message to those people. What is wrong with letting someone believe what they want? You can't prove God does not exist. You are… more just providing ideas that suggest he is not real. People want to believe God is real , so let them. Stop trying to shove your views down their throats. Live and let live.

Sorry, morally wasn't the right word, change it to "personally".
I just disagree with it, I would still love my children if they changed their sex, but would still view it as something which isn't supposed to happen.
I'm not a dick to transgendered people, I will say I used to have negative connotations and thoughts when I heard about people who changed their sex, but I have never hated on one. Me not prompting anyone to change their sex (even though I told her "Hell, do it.") doesn't mean I'm a dick to them.
If I was a dick to them I would say "YOU ARE A WOMAN AND GOD WANTED YOU TO BE A WOMAN SO NO FUCK YOU", but I didn't, I told her what I think about it and that I wouldn't hate someone who changed genders.
Yes it is. Let someone believe in God if they want to. They believe God is real , so **it is what it is*.
Also your point is wrong. Where did you get that heaven is in the sky? Who said it's invisible?
Just because you can't see behind the idea of why people believe in God =/= There is no logical reason to believe in God.
^There you go

Yes, and you have full responsibility to choose whether you want to believe in God or not, because no matter what you choose, his first priority is that you have the freedom to choose, for good or bad
Sorry, morally wasn't the right word, change it to "personally".

You're discussing it publicly , if you truly wanted it to be you and him privately you should do it in a PM. But this is a thread where anyone can come in and contribute , so I'm contributing to this argument.
me and george are talking.
That was your reply.
You're discussing it publicly , if you truly wanted it to be you and him privatel… morey you should do it in a PM. But this is a thread where anyone can come in and contribute , so I'm contributing to this argument.
Atheists forget about heroes like Dr Kent Bradley. He was inspired by his faith to help people in West Africa, and i don't see helping others as a bad thing, or bad people.
Then again what do i know.
Idk, I believe in God, and I believe in what God says, even if it might sound weird to you.
"supposed" as in I BELIEVE that cutting your balls off and get breast implants won't literally change your gender, but if it makes you feel good about it, DO IT, I WON'T HATE THEM.
It's not, it isn't being a dick, maybe it is to you, not to me.
Firstly, being transgender doesn't mean you change your sex.
Secondly, why do you think it isn't supposed to happen? What if your view on… more homosexuality? What does 'supposed' mean?
Thirdly, the fact that you disagree with how some people are IS being a dick to them, whether you like it or not.
I wanted to see the reply you would have against that argument but you backed out of it. I wanted to see the question answered so I attempted to get a response by jumping in to the argument.
We are but there is no point in jumping into this, you didn't insult Atheists.
I didn't talk about Christmas with him, so that argument is unrelated to the argument me and him are having right now.

I hate the cold, I'm used to the Mediterranean climax.
I didn't know about God's judgement. Thank you for your information about Judaism. Thank you, I'm 50% cool in God's eyes.
I don't think it gets very cold in Israel.
Yes, but you need to know that it's all up to God in the end, and if you end up believing in him, his judgment would be the only one you'll get

Nope, it rained today, but it's only going to be like that, and maybe some hail in the worst part of the Winter, but nothing more than that ._.
I once got a snowstorm so bad where I lived we were without power and heat for a week.
In the end, who ever you are, you have to be good and to avoid temptations.
I'll think about it, since I'm kind of Ignostic.

How can you possibly disagree with transgendered people morally?

It's a "magic" monkey. It doesn't "need" to follow the laws of physics.
You still can't prove that it doesn't exist.
I already told you that only I can see this magic eight ball, that is very much absolutely 100% real.
There's no way you can prove it doesn't exist, so therefore it must be true.
Life happens.

WE are talking about religion. Christianity isn't the only religion.
My cousin in New Jersey told me he got his power out for a week because of a snowstorm too xD
The argument of him insulting Atheists?
You're jumping into this argument for no reason.
I believe it's *Agnostic :P
Yes, and you have full responsibility to choose whether you want to believe in God or not, because no matter what you choose, his first priority is that you have the freedom to choose, for good or bad
