It is... Based on the knowledge we have on this subject, it is a fact. So far we havent found life on others planets, so its a fact there is… morent life on other planets. If evidence about life on others plannets happen to show up, then its no longer a fact. Is it really that hard to understand this? With your definition of word "fact, there arent any facts because you cannot be 100% sure.
Facts arent considered to be 100% true because there always is a chance to be wrong.
Is it not a fact that Mount Everest is the tallest mountain, simply because there might eventually be taller mountain?
It's a fact that mount everest is the tallest mountain we know of. It is NOT a fact that it is the tallest mountain in existence. Learn what a fact is.
I did read it and gave you an answer.
Is it not a fact that Mount Everest is the tallest mountain, simply because there might eventually be taller mountain?
Please reply to this.
And what happens once Mount Everest isnt the tallest mountain anymore on our planet? Fact changes. Is it wrong to say that Mount Everest is the tallest mountain, simply because at some point it might not be the tallest one anymore?

So are you going to avoid the actual subject of this conversation? They are both fictional characters so they are the same. Just products of imagination.
No matter how much I try to explain it to you, you'll use your ignorance to try and insult a religion I follow. So please, go do yourself a favor and learn basic respect.

All of this is irrelevant. It all goes back to the meaning behind the statement. You're trying to read too far into it, and its causing you to completely miss the point behind telling someone that their lost loved one "is in heaven" in the first place. If someone tells a grieving individual that their lost loved one is in heaven, that is a statement of condolence. That's all it is. There is no reason to over dissect it or take some bizarre personal offense to it. I know I keep saying this, but it all goes back to the intention and overall point behind the statement... and the overall intent is one based on sympathy and a desire to console.
Are you really ignorant enough to say that existing for eternity isnt a curse? You seem to not have thought about how long eternity really i… mores and how it would affect human mind. Sure, the first 200 years might be fun, but eventually you will run out of things to do and it would just be never-ending hell where you are trapped for eternity. How does that comfort you?

No one is trying to undermine anyone with statements like this. They are simply showing sympathy and trying to make the grieving individual feel better. There is no way on earth such intentions are "rude as hell". If I'm being honest here, I would say slapping away these good intentions is what is in fact rude as hell.
I get that, but it's still rude as hell. It's undermining that person's personal loss.
"Don't worry, you haven't 'really' lost that pers… moreon forever."
It's completely rude. It takes a lot for me to not blow up on somebody when somebody close to me has died and somebody says something like that to me. So far I haven't blown up on somebody in person, but that's because I understand what they are "trying" to do.
Random Guy: "Hey there, Zykelator. I hope you have a fantastic day today!"
Zykelator: "Fuck you dude, I'll have whatever kind of day I feel like. In fact, your idea of me having a fantastic day fills me up with just a ton of false hope. How sick can you be? Realistically I know today is not going to be a very good day. Don't you dare force your good intentions upon me."
Obviously an exaggeration, but this is essentially what you're doing. Do you get it now? No one is asking you to believe a word of what these people are telling you (in this situation at least..). All that matters is the fact that these people are coming to you out of sympathy, with a desire to make you feel better. You don't have to share their views/opinions in order to appreciate their gesture.
Did I say that? No. It wasn't even implied. You should know the definition of basic respect if you're as smart as you claim to be.
Like I said, I'm done. Get on with whatever life you have.
You keep spamming that, yet you dont understand what it means. Do you know the difference between fact and absolute fact?
Facts can change... How is it so hard to wrap your head around this?
That seems like lousy example, since that implies your condolence to the ones who lost loved ones is actually comforting and happy by definition, no matter what the person thinks about life after death.
My example
Its like joking about someones mother the day she died, without you actually knowing about it beforehand. Its meat to make your friend laugh but it can just make him angry and more sad.
This example of couse assume that the person who lost his mother doesnt believe in afterlife. There arent that many neutral ways to comfort those who have lost someone, is there?

Every Atheist I've had a debate with offline has tried to implement this Scott D. Weitzenhoffer quote into their argument. As though this quote is their ace in the hole, and they automatically win when it's said. Kind of hypocritical really. It's overused to the point where it's no longer clever or witty.
I know the definition of that so there is no need for that. They are "permanent truth", 100% correct, absolute...While facts change constantly as new information shows up.

Absolute fact just means 100% true. There arent any absolute facts, as we cant even be sure if this is reality. There must always be room for a possible error.
I think you just have given too much value to word "fact".

The point is that you can take really any sort of statement with positive intentions and warp the point of those statements in order to take offense to it. In my example, I had you take offense to someone telling you to have a good day. As I said before, this is obviously an exaggeration, but the point still stands. Whether you think you're going to have a good day or not, whether you want to have a good day or not, whether you want someone to leave your alone or not, the person is simply wishing you well. There is really no harm done. This is the same concept for someone consoling you by telling you that your lost loved one is in heaven. You don't have to believe them. You're welcome to have a completely different stance. That doesn't necessarily mean that the person trying to console you is being blatantly offensive.
I should clarify that good intentions don't always equal a non offensive stance.. but that isn't what we're looking at here. There is nothing inherently offensive or inconsiderate in trying to console someone by telling them their lost loved one is in a paradise of sorts. This goes back to the "good day example". Most people wouldn't expect you to take offense to wishing you a good day just as they wouldn't expect you to be offended about someone wishing your dead loved ones to be in paradise. So while you can somehow find a way to get offended over what they said, you can't rationally call these people inconsiderate/ offensive. That's honestly ridiculous. I guess people should just stop talking to one another entirely, considering people can apparently get offended over freaking anything.
Its like joking about someones mother the day she died, without you actually knowing about it beforehand. Its meat to make your friend laugh but it can just make him angry and more sad.
I don't see how that relates at all. Could you please explain?

Actually I did that whole "Random Guy" thing to Zyke once and he responded positive. He said the same thing back to me but was curious of why I sent it.

I wasn't trying to show how Zykelator would respond to an actual conversation like that. I was only making up a random example to explain a point I was trying to make.

Its his perception of reality and true to him... You dont know this is reality, you think/hope/believe this is reality. Its the same thing.
Whatever you say, looks like you should take your own advice and learn the definition of "fact".
Did you just fucking ignore my whole comment? Read it again please.
So whats your problem now? Both of them are fictional characters.
I did read it and gave you an answer.

Yeah, I'm just not going to bother anymore. Get on with your life, don't be such a dick to everyone.
I dont really give a shit about what the intention was, because its still offensive and rather sick.
I should treat your religion more special than any other then?
For the millionth time
This is what I mean by 'fact'
