Clem should have a psychologist in Season 3

I don't necessarily mean an actual, APA-accredited one (although that actually wouldn't be too crazy). She just needs someone she can talk to and work through her deep seated psychological problems. Long-term. Not just one dinner conversation and then that's that.

The character doesn't even have to be particularly sensitive about it. They can be Chuck-like in their brutal honesty and have a bit of a cavalier attitude about things. But the important part is that they make an effort to engage with Clem because they want to help her get past some of the things she's dealing with. Maybe they hear her mumbling "I'm sorry" in her sleep and ask her about what she thinks she has to apologize for. Maybe they see her being a bit over-protective of AJ and confront her about why she cares for him so much. Maybe they just see her staring off into the distance and ask her what's wrong.

We're given this interesting child character with lots of emotional baggage but I don't feel like we were really given the chance to unpack any of it. I want that chance. And for people who don't, who just want to see Clem as a stoic survivor who never talks about her feelings and such, it could be a choice. Players could either respond positively to this psychologist-type character trying to help or they could wall him/her off or even lash out at him/her. Even that would make for some interesting character scenes.

  • I want it to be someone in her age or maybe a bit older. She hasn't got much interactions with kids or teens and I hope there will be someone who she can count as her soulmate, her brother/sister.

I had someone a bit more wizened in mind; something more along the lines of a mother figure or a Chuck-like figure (okay, maybe I just want Chuck back...). While I do also want to see her interact with a peer her age (Duck and Sarah were both a little immature), I don't know if they would know enough to impart on her much wisdom about how to deal with survivor's guilt or give her a good philosophy to live by since she has obviously abandoned the idea that the world is going to get better by now. Then again, a kid who reminds her of herself might be better than an adult at getting her to open up a bit.

  • Her well-being should be determinant.

How do you mean? Determined by what? What she did in Season 2 or how she behaves in Season 3?

  • Both. Choices should permanently shape Clementine's personality, and S3 plot could include several ways of becoming an unique character (or at least having some unique features); S2 ended up differently and that makes pretty good opportunity to separate our Clementines. I'd like to see something drastically different, maybe Clementine canon dying because of all S3 choices.

Me too. I want this fancy shovel-master back.

  • I agree about mother figures. All mothers in the game were plot devices and it's sad.
