I love carley, for me she was the best character of all the game (excluding the protagonists), nobody replaces her.

But i agree that Doug had poor development. writers make it seem like you just saved doug to protect your past. Save carley seems to be the right choice, But writers make it seem that save Doug is wrong, when actually isnt. the two are people, but the game practically forces you to save carley.

A example is when you are with the stranger, if you save doug he will acuse you of" left a girl die to protect your past " But if you saved Carley he will say that you left a good guy die to save a pretty girl with a gun.

The first argument is valid But not the second. What's wrong with saving a pretty girl with a gun? that is not really an argument. I think that part was bad written, a little. The stranger fails completely when trying to blame you for the death of Doug

I can't even imagine Carley dying in episode 1. she is a perfect survivor, friend and love <3, I cant do a gameplay with Doug, i tried, but i love carley, i cant watch she get eaten by walkers

  • Sorry, but Carley was also bad writting. I mean today, WHO doesn't know how to put bateries.

I never said Doug was bad writing. sorry if i passed this impression. he was a cool guy and when i watch the scene of he protecting lee against andy with a light i laughed. very funny. i saId that the DIALOGUE WITH STRANGER, IF YOU SAVE CARLEY IS BAD WRITEN, because his argument is stupid, but not doug, he just didnt get much development in episode 1, the oposite of carley, who save your life 2 times., but doug was funny, i have nothing aginst him.

The battery thing is just to have a funny moment in a zombie apocalipse, dont really count as a liability or something like that. i cant believe someone gave importance to that thing. fuck batteries :P

  • I recently replayed Season One on PS4 and 51% saved Doug.

  • Have you ever been in a stressful situation? Sometimes people forget their own names.

when i replayed S1 the % shows 50% siding with kenny and 50% siding with Larry. like, WTF? what kind of monster is playing S1 now? this can be true, but some statistics are very bug

  • The agree with Kenny or not is kind of strange. Like a friend of mine picked an option thinking it was side with Kenny but it was Side with larry instead

In my first playthrough I saved Carley 'cause I knew she was a "good shot", and we got a LOT more time to talk to her (and about Lee's past) than with Doug.
When I played the game again I saved Doug and I liked him much than Carley. I like Carley, but ... but DOUG xD

  • Yeah, kinda like that. People usually go for the girl because they want to get in her pants also she could handle a gun.

Girls that use guns > Pudgy nerd

Usually people go for the girl. I'm all for women and children first, but in this situation Doug was just a helpless guy and Carley looked like she could handle herself. Obviously not.

Doug never had a fair shake. Its like that time where Kenny was winning in the fight, and everyone felt like they had to save "innocent" Jane.

  • Team Doug indeed.

    In the words of Cry...

"Only 15% of players saved Doug? AM I THE ONLY ONE THAT LIKES FUCKING DOUG?! Fuck you guys..."

-Cry, The Walking Dead Season 1 Episode 1 Finale

  • Doug never had a chance. I mean i bet if you ask Doug, he would understand.

Doug would save Carley over Doug. It was just the kind of guy he was.

  • I would rather Kenny not be in S3 if their going to omid him.

My ending is the same. Don't give up hope yet maybe Kenny will get a continuation in the story.

  • Yeah that's true.

  • Personally i don't want my favorite Character "Nate" to come back to the game, because I'm afraid the writers will fuck it up like they did countless times in S2 and kill the character off. I rather him be not in the story, than him be dead in the story.

    Yeah that's true.

  • Yeah Nate is one of my favorite character's. I want him to come back in S3 but I'm afraid that he may get's killed off. The unknown status is better than dead...

  • Yeah, yeah I get it, but what I mean is that nobody was panic in the drugstore after the walkers stop knocking the dors. They think that they were safe, so Carley was not in panic. So everything that you just say is false for her.

  • True. I mean until i see a actual change in writing where they understand they don't have to kill a character off every episode. At this point in the game, i expect everyone in S3 to die except Clementine, so in my mind why would i emotionally invest myself in these people? This is why i feel S2 was ruined. I half knew in the back of my mind all the people i would grow to love would die because of terrible writing, like honestly who would honestly walk across a lake of ice?

I wouldn't. Their deaths are as meaningless as Alvin or Sarita. Rebecca's death was overshadowed by the choice, of what to do with the shootout. After the shootout, they just walk away with one line of dialogue.

OK. I would challenge TTG to give a select group of fans the ability to use the Telltale Tool, lets compare who makes a better S3.

    The Writers or the Fans.

Yeah Nate is one of my favorite character's. I want him to come back in S3 but I'm afraid that he may get's killed off. The unknown status is better than dead...

  • While I did save Carley, I do like Doug, and Telltale admitted that there were some missteps with how he was handled. I honestly thought his character was more consistent than Carley's at first, but she was clearly given more opportunities for development. She saves you, knows about your past, goes with you to the inn, etc. It's not surprising that more people chose to save her.

It's a shame that saving Carley's the only way you can talk about your past though. I like the idea of different characters providing different benefits, but Doug should either have offered an alternative way for Lee to confide in the group about his conviction, or a beneficial scenario that saving Carley didn't have. Balance things out a bit.

I liked Doug. He was pretty cool for a geek.

To be honest, though, I saved Carley at first, because she was good with a gun and I thought would be more resourceful, but, so was Doug with creating those bell things to alert the group to the presence of walkers.

  • I think most of the women who played it picked Carley as well.

Anyone else feel bad that only like 15% saved him. No Men play more video games than women. So its not a stretch to see the hot reporter get saved over the Fat IT guy.
