"We dont know how this works yet."
During the dream sequence with lee in no going back, lee says "we dont know how this works yet. maybe its like a cold." referring to duck being bitten.
........ really? When i play season 1 i kind of feel like by episode 3 they have a pretty firm understanding that your as good as dead if you get bitten, making this line seem really out of character to me. can anyone bring some clarification on this matter?

Well they never actually saw it happen to a bite victim yet, even though they might have had the basic jist of it, they still weren't sure on how it worked yet :P
well, Brenda came back after being bitten, the cop came back after being bitten, Larry clearly stated "He's Been Bitten! That's How you turn!", Kenny in the begining of EP 2 Says "You Told us he wasn't bitten! Well your NOT BITTEN Friend here, Tried to kill my wife" so they clearly knew being bitten is death. they were just in denial.
Yeah, Might be a script mistake.
Or maybe its supposed to symbolize Clementines hope that Duck may live, with Lee comforting her.
I honestly hated when they did that, it made Lee seem like an idiot or he was babying clem . My Lee new exactly what was going t happen and told Kat and Kenny at every opportunity what they had to do
yeah same here thats why i was like WTF?
You read the title of the thread in Lee's voice didnt you?
He was trying to comfort Clem
Honestly I think it's meant to symbolize Clementine's hope for a better future rather than a perfect example of Lee's character.
Lee was the person who taught Clementine how to survive, he gave her hope that all things wasn't lost and he protected her. It makes sense to me that her own sense for hope would take form as him in her dreams.
Lee was being optimistic when Clem asked him about the bite. As EpicMustacheGuy said he was just trying to comfort her, but at that point Clem(you) already knew what was gonna happen hence why there was an option to say Duck's not gonna make it. I would say it is not out of character for Lee to say this since he was trying to make Clem feel better.
There were many mistakes that i didnt even notice this one.
Dayum dale, chill out!
Maybe...
LOL, that shit caught me off guard!
yeah but Bredna was bitten on the Neck. Duck was the first real bite victim who's bite didnt lead to death from where he was bit
but, as i said.
I think it was symbolic about the future. Part of her was seeing a never ending future of death. Either another part of her, or Lee's spirit was letting her know that the future isn't written and there was hope.
Yeah but they never treated a bite victum before
It was a dream sequence. Since Lee tried to keep Clem's spirits up, Clem would dream of Lee saying this even though he might not say it in "real life." Also, as others have posted above, Dream-Lee could also symbolize Clem's hope for the future, thus why he said that line.
According to Robert Kirkman, the people don't die from the bite. They die from infection from the germs they carry or blood loss... Oh, if you doubt me go to the wiki
But lee never said that in S1 did he? I saw nothing wrong with this Scene. Clementine is in a dream. and a few things half distorted when we are dreaming. it only happens in clem ,subconscious to show she still have hope for a better world. isnt a mistake
This is true. The infection from the dead is supposed to out last even the most powerful of antibiotics (I think he called it something like a "super-e. coli"). If it wasn't for that, the bites, while still dangerous, wouldn't be as big of a deal.
