Walking Dead Season 2 Problem? Please help!

Hello!

I bought The Walking Dead Season 2 the day before yesterday from Steam. I posted this same question on Steam but I'm not sure if it is a Steam problem or it's something with the update. The game downloaded just fine, but when I went to play the game it presented the "Missing Executable" error. I verified the game files and such and it said "Missing one file" or something like that and that it'd "reacquire it". Thinking my problem was fixed, I went to go start the game and it began downloading an update. This is where the real problem began. The update will download to 100% and then it goes right back into queued and says "Update paused". This issue is driving me absolutely nuts, because I've tried EVERYTHING - connecting my PC directly to the modem, updating DirectX, updating video and sound drivers, uninstalling & reinstalling both the game AND Steam, deleting everything in the Steam file except SteamApps and Steam.exe and restarting Steam, flushconfig, regedit, etc, etc. I sent in the question to Steam but haven't heard anything back yet. Yes, I restarted my computer, and I tried disabling the firewalls, doing disk clean up, all of that. And switching the download region.

Any ideas? Super grateful for any help in this matter.

    Try this:

    Open steam.
    Go to your game Library.
    Right Click the game.
    Delete Local Content.
    Once that's done the name will be grayed out.
    Right click the grayed out name.
    Install Game.

    My first guess is that there was a hiccup when the game was downloading and you got a damaged file. The single best way to get rid of this file is to delete the whole thing and start over.

    E-mail steam support if that doesn't work on try the steam forums for TWD.

    I sent in a report to Steam and I've posted in a couple different parts of their forums. Thank you!

    Reinstalling it sadly didn't work... :/ Still says missing executable and wants me to run the verification but I'm scared the same thing will happen

    Verified it with no luck... and I don't have McAfee or AVG, and I uninstalled Skype...

    Fixed it! :) Leftover McAfee files hiding on my computer. Ugh
