Why I think Luke died.

As much as I dislike it, I understand it.

TellTale wanted to end with all this Cluke shit. pretty sick people

    Shock value sounds more fitting.

  • Well, I think you cracked this case.

Just like Luke cracked the ice.

  • Your username describes my reaction pretty well :P

I don't think Telltale really cared about Cluke, I'm sure most of them didn't even know about it.

I'm pretty sure he was killed off because either it would have been very predictable if Luke vs Kenny actually happened, and because Telltale has the formula to have noone survive the Season other than the protagonist (with that I mean confirmed alive).

Also, shock and emotional value. It worked, just like Kenny vs Jane. After that shit was finally over, here comes the next thing to discuss for five weeks.

    Yay.

A doubt a few fans cluking scared them off. I sure as hell hope that's not the reason they stuck one of my favorite characters on thin ice

    ಠ_ಠ

Or there will be hell to pay!

    [Cue scary Sephiroth theme]

  • Just my opinion but I think TellTale wanted the game to end with the choice between Kenny, and someone else. Neither Luke, or Jane seemed likely to run off with Arvo. Luke was too kind hearted, and loyal, and Jane was there for only Clementine. So it was really down to those two. I think they really wanted 2 very different choices, and Kenny, and Luke are different choices Jane, and Kenny are even more different. That left only one thing left to do. Get rid of Luke.

  • Nah, I think his guess was lukewarm at best.

  • It may have been a mixture of that and shock value.

    But yeah, definitely shock value!

  • I don't think that word combination can be used in regards to Luke. But, he'd been cool about it.

  • i thought he died because he fell through the ice, he couldn't get out and drowned.

  • That rumor is false. It wasn't because of Cluke or Lexi or her followers, I think it was because they didn't know what to do with him. Everyone thought that the final choice would be Luke vs Kenny, the seeds were sown with the choice of who to sit with back in A House Divided and seemed even more likely at the end of Amid the Ruins. Luke and Kenny was too predictable, that's why they got rid of him. But they decided to kill him off where they did because, if they hadn't, chances are he would have decided to take off with Bonnie, Mike, and Arvo and it would have been out of character for him.

  • I heard from someone on the forums that Luke's death was planned from the start.

So no, it isn't because of Lexxi Porter.

It's not because of Cluke. It never was. He died because Telltale doesn't know how to make a plot device without killing somebody off.

  • Luke isn't dead.

Luke is underwater zombie. Big difference.

  • I'm pretty sure that's what Luke wanted to say when the walker was dragging him down.

booing sounds fill the background again

    ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) can you die ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

  • Also another possible reason: there was no place for him to fit into the story as it continued. He sure as hell wouldn't leave with Mike and the rest, and he sure as hell wouldn't let the Kenny/Jane death-match happen. With no way to simply write him out of the story (like with Mike and co.), they turned to the next best solution; killing him.

  • He would get lost in the snow storm and find Clem AJ and the one that is alive(Jane and Kenny) by the noise of the shoot (Shooting Kenny) or because of AJ crying (Let Kenny kill Jane)
