They were gonna ban episode 5 (of the TV show)!! WHY?
According to Michael Cudlitz the one who plays Abraham was saying the they were going to banned the 5th episode of the walking dead due to something that was to violent to be put on the T.V. I think that it wasn't because of that. I mostly think it was Abraham and Rosita's love scene in the library. What do you guys think the reason was, and also if theirs any other discussion you guys want me to do let me know and I'll put your name in front of the question on who asked it.

I think it's to do with Abraham's flashbacks. In the comics his family is raped by his neighbours whom he had been with in a group together. He kills all of them, and the show picks up on when he kills the last guy. It's likely they were going to include something along the lines of this.
I don't see why it would be censored for any of the reasons. They've had sex scenes like that before and there has been way more gory much more violent scenes.
Well if you are talking about the banning in the U.S. it probably has to do with the rape scene from the comics. T.V. in the U.S. has a heavy limit on sex when televised especially with rape.
I would imagine, it would be part of the flashback where Abraham brutally murders a person, however they probably cut it and showed less of it.
I don't know why, actually. Maybe it was because the sex scene? I don't know.
It's because the episode is so incredibly shit.
Americans:
Watches a show that regularly shows graphic violence including, but not limited to, dismemberment.
"This is OK for TV."
The show has a scene with a female nipple
"TAKE IT DOWN FOR DUH KIDZ! DEY CANT SEE DAT IT WILL RUINZ DEM!"
100% accurate.
I know, I was joking.
The first three were amazing and so was the last one, but Slabtown was just okay. I like Beth, but she isn't a character that can carry an entire episode on her own.
I liked the episode but I didn't like Beth. I did like the guy who was in everybody hates chris. Was that him? Sure as hell looked like it.
Anyways, it doesnt make sense for them to take out some rape scenes if Slabtown had one (kind of, the douche guy stuck his hand up her shirt and they did some weird lollipop crap.)
As an American, I can confirm this with 100% accuracy.
Yes that was him.
I disagree, I liked seeing Beth again and thought the episode was easily on par with the rest of the season.
I like Beth too, she's a good character, but not someone who can carry an episode on her own. And while I liked learning about where she is and the fact that they're going back to Atlanta, after the fast pace and well written episodes the previous 3 weeks, it felt like a downgrade in quality.
Agreed. Beth is awesome.
It's not exactly like that. I could make a three page paper on why violence and nudity/sex should be treated different from one another but I'll spare you all the lecture.
I think I heard, well read, that they wanted to show the family get killed by walkers. So theyshowed kids getting torn apart by walkers. I think I also saw that it probably had something to do with rape.
In my opinion episode 2 was a downgrade from episode 1, and the next two episodes picked the pace back up. Once again, I disagree about Beth, because like I said, I liked the episode and thought it was good, and I like Beth.
Beth is an underdog sort of character who has only really come to the forefront in two episodes over the last two seasons. Even so, she's an awesome character like you said. Beth better not die this week.
After the way they have built her up the last two episodes she has been in? Yeah, that would be awful.
Right back at atcha Goust.
I mean..we didn't even see anything while Abraham and Rosita were doing it..I don't see why that would keep them from airing the episode.
Maybe there are scenes that were cut because they were too graphic and gruesome? I bet it was scenes from Abraham's flashback. They only alluded to what happened to Abraham's family through flashbacks in the show, but it's so much worse when you learn the details from the comics.
I'll be pretty pissed if she dies after all that character development. She shouldn't have to die just because she's the only one who is still optimistic and hopeful. Not to mention, her dying would be way too predictable.
You can if you want, I really am curious why is a show fine when it has mutilation, torture, death, decay, cannabalism etc but not allowed to show sex. All in an adult show that kids shouldn't be watching anyway
Maggie used to be one of my favorites, but I can't say she is anymore. She hasn't spoken about Beth once. The only time she did was because Daryl was telling her about Beth being taken, you'd think that would make Maggie adamant in finding her sister before leaving for DC, but instead it's like she never had a sister to begin with. I like Beth a lot more than Maggie now.
I'm suddenly reminded of when Breaking Bad bleeped out its swearing.
Because sex and gore are two different things.
I am not going to say that one should allow or disallow one another, but I am to say why sex seems to be treated so highly.
In summary, violence is something that everybody knows is bad. Violence either depicts a good guy hurting a bad guy or vise versa (to put it simply). It is rare for violence to be depicted as okay, good, or casual (even in the case of the Walking Dead). It's almost always depicted as a bad thing.
However, sexuality is more determined on personal values rather than all around values. A person can see sex as casual and not a big deal, or a person can see sex as something sacred or special. The thing I like about The Walking Dead is that sex is not overdone, it's short and far apart from each other. That is usually why I think there is backlash on sexuality, though it is pure speculation.
But for many people it is casual, and really in an adult show especially in settings like this it is going to be casual. Still makes zero sense why this is treated so differnelty to violence which is clearly being shown to barely affect the characters anymore
Yeah, same here. It's a really strong season so far minus Maggie's character.
Maggie was always one of my favorites too, and for the same reason I can't say she is anymore. Her lack of care about Beth also makes me like Beth all the more, and increases my hope that she survives.
It's a pretty big oversight lol.
It really would. I don't know if you watch the Talking Dead or not, but the preview we got of this week's episode makes the probability of her survival look bleak.
If you wrote it I would read it.
I'd probably reply too
@Belan
What he said.
I'm sure they want us to think that, but I really don't think they're going to kill her off like that. I personally don't believe that Daryl/Carol would burn her body either.
I hope you're right.
Thank you guys for your response it does make more sense now
Looks like Beth lives to fight another episode. I have this weird feeling that Carol is going to be dead within the next two episodes.. and Beth is going to be the one to make it through alive.
