Was Carver a member of Crawford?

So I was watching a play through on Youtube today of In Harms Way. After Tavia radioed Carver when he was talking to Clementine, the camera zooms in on the walkie talkie, but next to it is this tape, which also happens to be one of the tapes Lee watched in Around Every Corner.

After I realized this, I thought about some of the similarities between Crawford and Carver. Both of them believed in the concept of social darwanism, or survival of the fittest. They believed that the weak would only hurt the strong's chances of survival and viewed them as a burden in their society. This was explained by both Molly and Vernon in Around Every Corner and seen when Carver killed Reggie and told Clementine he did it was because he was weak of character. "Killing one in order to save many, is part of survival. It's one of the tough decisions that a weaker person couldn't make. It's why it falls to people like us to lead them to safety."

It could quite possibly be that Carver was a resident of Crawford, but when it fell, he was able to escape, but may have gone back and grabbed one of the tapes. After that, he formed the community at Howe's and started to run it much like Crawford ran his community. Or it could just be that Telltale decided to re-use a model in this episode, which they are known to do.

  • I'm pretty sure it's just a reused model, I doubt he would go running back to Crawford from Howes just to get a tape :P

  • Nope, Just a reused Model, Like that whole "Lilly Episode 4 RV thing"

  • Its a reused model, TT does that often.

  • No, because craford is for GROMMETS!

  • No. The tape went on DVD and Carver brought a copy of it.

  • Its just a reused model, but It would be really cool if we ever get a Carver Back story dlc and he was a member of Crawford, maybe even Crawford's second in command

  • Yeah, I figured it was just a re-used model, but still interesting to think about.

  • I would love a Carver DLC. If he was a member of Crawford, half of it could be about Crawford and the other half could be about how he set up Howe's with Luke, Tavia, and the others and his descent into madness.

  • I'm a fan, while it may not do anything to affect Season 3, it would shed some much needed light on Carver's community before Luke and the others escaped, which I felt was something missing from In Harms Way. For a DLC, I would love for it to be on either Howe's and Carver or your specific ending.
