Do you really want Clementine as protagonist?

Okay, i am asking this because i have problems with it. I certainly love Clem, Don't get me wrong and i want her to be in the game but in my opinion, i dont like to play as her. I think her physical limits takes some stuff out of the game (at least for me.) Maybe i feel this way because i played as Lee in the first one but you know. Do you think could Clem grow up a bit so that she can atleast be a young girl that can fight and etc better? Or is there a certain timeline that she'll grow into? (IN COMICS). I don't see any character that we can actually play with in season 3 so i really am curious about her age at this point.

  • Oh, i understand.

I want Clem to be the protagonist, but if she's not I'm going to be disappointed. But I'm going to keep playing though.

  • No, I want Christa with Clem as a supporting character with her personality determinant.

  • Christa

I'd immediately lose part of my interest.

  • I would love to play as Clementine in Season 3 since I loved playing as her in Season 2, or at least have her be an important character in S3 like she was in S1. I would like for Clem to be older, but I don't think Telltale is allowed to go past the comics unless Kirkman were to give them permission. If he doesn't, the oldest she could be in S3 would be 13.

  • I want Clem to be the protagonist, and no time jump. I think the "9 days later" is enough. All she really needs, (IMO) is a gun at the ready, and that screwdriver Jane gave her, and I'm happy. Not really sure what you mean by physical limits though.

  • even if Clementine is not the protagonist in season 3 she better be the deuteragonist (second main character) just like in season 1. I actually miss talking to her in season 1 while playing as Lee

  • What I think he means by physical limits is that, because she's young, she can't get into fights. Remember, she couldn't even lift the bottle of water in Amid the Ruins.

  • I honestly don't care who the protagonist is. However, playing as Clementine was really weird and didn't feel right with her doing all the work and having no emotions.

However if we do play as her again the I guess I don't mind.

  • Good point. But I don't see the need to time jump any further. I think the struggle of raising AJ is too much to just skim through.

  • Not gonna care either way. If she does happen to be the PC, then I would want her to actually have some character development and not be completely bland.

  • While that's a good point, think about this. If Telltale were to jump about 6 or 7 years, they can write the relationship of Clem and AJ to mirror Lee and Clementine, but now Clementine is the one who has to raise, train, and protect someone, in this case AJ, and the way you act and the choices you make will affect how AJ views this world and the people living in it.

That sounds awesome sure, but it feels too early for that. We still don't know what type of person Clem's gonna be. She hasn't been to school since 1st grade. I think she needs to find a group and find a place to hunker down, so to speak. (I didn't go to Wellington) I think by the end of the 3rd season things will be looking up enough so they can time jump without loose ends.

  • I guess we'll just have to wait and see what Telltale will have in store. P.S. I didn't go to Wellington either, I'm with my boy Kenny until the end.

  • I would want Clementine as the protagonist again if she's going to have a personality, unlike the season two Clementine.

  • I wanna Clem but with like 10 years time jump. Enough for her to become an adult and Arvin Jr to develop character.

I to didn't enjoy playing as her.
Not just because of her physical limits, but also that I still see her as the little girl from Season 1 that I had Lee protect and teach.

I would rather play as a new male character in Season 3.
And someone who's around 40-50 years old.
Someone who would have greater sensibility and greater maturity.
Playing as a man in his mid 20's, like Luke, would be ok, but he would lack the authority someone Kenny's or Lee's age would posses.
And I feel that it would be harder to get the group to listen to me, and I had enough of that, playing as Clementine.

So in short, I'd like to play as a new male protagonist for Season 3.
Preferably a man in his 40's, or early 50's.

It sounds great as an idea, but terrible when put down onto paper. It's one of the main places where S2 messed up. TTG made Clementine the playable protagonist, but in the process shoved her into all these situations and actions that would be completely impossible for a scrawny 11 year old girl. They also tried to add in all these 'badass' moments that would have made sense and worked well for someone like Lee (eg. Luke, Pete, Nick, etc.) but seems very unnatural and forced for someone of her stature. As someone who knows 11 year old girl IRL, Clem's personality is very un-11yearoldgirl-like. She also wasn't given much character development, and (determinately) went against her personality and Lee's teachings from S1.

IMO S2 and S3 could/be better if she was a deuteragonist, with a new character being the PC.

  • Honestly? not particulalry. Though I dont really care who it is
