If Duck was still alive....

Would he be like Clem? A kid who can be as mush as a bad a** as an adult?

Comments

  • No, Duck would still be that stupid little kid that got Shawn killed. No one is like Clem and no one will ever be like Clem.

  • I think he would certainly be tougher and make sure Kenny wasn't as mentally damaged as he was during Season Two.

  • If he hadn't got bit at the Inn he would have gotten bit somewhere else. I just don't see Duck making it, though to be completely honest I wouldn't have seen Clementine's chance a whole lot more higher. At least she wasn't quite as.... special.

  • If Duck were still alive it would have proably made a big difference with how Kenny was. Maybe he wouldn't have become so dark in his depair or could have gone even deeper willing to do anything to keep Duck safe. It sure would have changed the way S2 ended.

Would you please stop posting so many discussions? They're all so short, and you basically put your question in the title, repeat the same point in the description and that's it. just so you know, most of the discussions you're starting right now already exist. but I don't blame you for being new here and all.

Not that I am against your curiosity, I just hate small discussions. please take note.

He'd be thougher,as long as Kenny stopped overprotecting him, also Kenny most likely wouldn't have "sacrified" himself for Ben/Chista and he would have fought with Christa if she was still alive after Lee's death and they would have separated.

Well what people seem to forget is he is a fictional character. It would be about what the writers wanted him to be. He could be a completely wuss, and drain on the group or the biggest badass ever....

  • If you see a post by him, ignore it then.

  • We saw Duck when this was all unfolding under the protection of his parents. Clementine had more time to grow up while this was going on. Duck was basically unlucky because of the raid on the motel, and Clem was lucky. It could easily have been Clem that got killed at that time.

  • Could have been. Probability, or luck, did play unto it and always has and will. But comparing his mental state and intellectual prowess along with his personality traits against that of Clementine at that point is what separates them for me. As I said, though, I wouldn't have pegged Clementine's chances at that time a whole lot higher than his.

  • If Duck was still alive, he would be Sarah.

  • Fiction has basis in reality. TWD is based on realism in a factitious world. By applying what you know about real people you can come to realistic conclusions about characters. Such as Duck.

He isn't alive. No need the question further. HE IS DEAD. Clem isn't i guess that answers it.

  • If he were alive, I'd ship Duck and Clem. I personally think that'd be adorable.

  • Katjaa would be alive.

  • Sorry, I can't really see Duck making it through the apocalypse.

  • If Duck wasn't bit, there would have been no reason to stop the train. If the train had not have stopped earlier, then they would have arrived at the overturned trailer earlier. If they had arrived earlier, they may not have met Omid and Christa. This is all assuming that Lilly would have still killed Carley/Doug and that they would have stopped the RV before hand. So basically, if Duck wasn't bit, S1E3 through S2E5 would be completely different... if you really want to know.

  • They didn't do right to a lot of characters

  • Is that so? I don't know a single adult that would look to an 11 year old for advice... Duck was a child. Some kids never seem to grow up, others grow up quickly especially when adult situations are thrust upon them. We can't really know how Duck would have been if he had say 2 years to grow.

  • Duck would have been like Ben. And most of the adults were useless, besides Jane, Kenny, Luke, Lee and Carlos the others just stood around

  • I don't want to ignore anyone. I just don't appreciate the short discussions on this forum. especialy when someone posts one every minute or two.

People can change and adapt if they'd like to.

Don't take me wrong, my satisfaction does not needs to be fulfilled by creating a decent form.

I'm just saying what the majority of this community is thinking. Creating countless discussions, every single minute or two, and not even implementing a few arguments in the description. Some may consider that 'spamming'. It's not likeable or preferable. and can be unpleasant if repeated.

also. everything you wrote has nothing to do with my intentions. k.

    kk.

  • You can't say for certain. But by playing on his current (at the time) traits you can come to a believable conclusion. Your initial argument was that you can't say how a character will turn out because he will be whatever the writer wants him to be. With that logic Master Chief could become a transvestite and open a bisexual bar on the covenant home world. But because writers, more often than not, like to have coherency and realism within their works you can reasonably say he would never do that because that isn't in his character. But the writers could, if they wanted to, do that. The point is by applying what you know about real life in a work largely based around what would really happen you can definitely come to a realistic conclusion about a character.

Also --- "Is that so? I don't know a single adult that would look to an 11 year old for advice..." Yeah, S2 was a mess. Realism wasn't their strong suit.

  • More people would have looked away during the Pizza V. Icecream choice, as Duck would be looking at Clem the whole time.
