Clementine and AJ Is it worth it?

Do you believe That Clementine should be taking care/responsible for AJ? Why and why not. If you believe that it is Clementine's responsibility to look after AJ, then how do you think Clementine will react if something happens to AJ. IE) Clementine is sleeping and the baby dies somehow. Do you think this could potentially mentally destroy her, or do you think that she will shrug it off like nothing happens(like she always does S2)

Do you think they will time lapse Clementine, to "age" Aj so they can have a story line with him, or do you think he will become another Omid S3?
I do not believe Telltale will do another time lapse to make Aj's character more interactive. I think he was a simple a plot device more than anything, I could be wrong and they age Clementine another ten years. If that happens we won't be playing the same character we have in the past, we been playing a adult version of that character, perhaps that could be a foreshadowing her demise in S3.

  • I dont particularly care about the baby. I dont want it to die but similarly I dont want a season just looking after it....Let us give it to Wellington or something.

Also about Omid, he was killed so clem would be with a new group without any adults while being able to account for a timeskip of clem staying alive. They clearly only had omid and christa back for that reason otherwise they would not have been there at all.

  • Do you think AJ will be killed Omid style.

  • I actually don´t think we´ll have a Lee/Clem thing with Clem and AJ. I don´t want him to die but I think he will.

  • I care for AJ, I might be in the minority here, but I do care for him. You can see how much Clem does care for AJ in No Going Back, she seemed happier when he was around, was distraught when she thought Jane killed him, and was happy when he was found alive. I will care for him and raise him, but he would be better off with capable adults raising him, and if I had to choose to give AJ up for his safety, I will. But no, he will not be, "Omid'd," (is that how you would use that, I guess) in Season 3.

  • ....I dont really see any point, they kept him around for a reason. Omid was only killed off in my opinion as everyone has a hissy fit if a character dosnt return, they probably didnt want another Kenny thing like after season 1. Its kind of happening with Christa now, people want everyone dead for some reason

    Nop.

  • She need to protect the baby, the world is not going to come back like it was, so she need something that will make her still believe there is good in this world.

  • Exactly, the baby does give Clementine a sort of hope that there are good things or people in the world, something I feel she hasn't felt or believed since Season 1.

  • Probably not. But I couldn't see Clem leaving him or killing him intentionally. The only reasonable way for her to take care of him is in Wellington. Any other scenario is really doing AJ a disservice and is very risky.

  • Everything's gonna be fine with Kenny.

  • I think the time jump in season 2 was to show that she's not a kid anymore. The first shot of her, after the "16 months later" was a dead eyed look. In season 1 she had that sparkle in her eye, in season 2 (before Omid died) she looked sad, but that's what a kid's supposed to feel, at that moment. Personally I think she blames herself for Lee's death. And it was her gun that killed Omid, so I think she blames herself for that. Christa definitely did. Also Christa's baby, we don't know what happened, but obviously she lost it. I think Clem blames herself for that. (If Omid were alive maybe things would've been different) So when she meets the Cabin group she's got a ton on her shoulders. But they give her a second chance at the most important thing in the WD universe. ("Clem it's family") I think AJ was a gift, a gift that Clem is responsible for, a gift I think she knows she has to protect. I think season 3 will be about finding a solid group. No one dies, they find a place, defend it, and thrive.

  • It's a baby, i'm not leaving it or anything. It is one of the last things keeping Clem's humanity alive.

So yes, just so we have that little girl we love alive, I say we keep him.

  • Couldn't have written it better myself, you are exactly right. I also just want to mention that Clem says in No Going Back, after Jane hides the baby, "No, not again, not again." I think this was definitely a minor hint as to what happened to Christa's baby, maybe they had to leave it behind to save themselves, and she feels guilty about it. AJ does bring out a sort of hopefulness in Clem and brings out a lot of her Season 1 emotion that seemed to have been buried in Season 2 due to all of her hardship.

  • What happens when the baby dies, I'm sure Clementine won't blame herself. Does anyone else think about these things other than me?

  • I don't think it burdens Clementine.

So you think its a good idea to burden a 11 year old girl with the responsibility of a new born. It boggles my mind.
