What will S3 plot be?

We are still without any clues as to what S3 is going to be about and who the main character is.

Now the plot of S1 and S2 are connected together through Clementine, however now S2 is over it is very possible that Clems story is finished all together as we are given multiple endings for her and I think they did this so that we can choose to give her either a happy or not so great ending without her ever having to be killed off. It will be hard for her to be brought back as S2 had so many different determinant endings.

So say that they decide to start a new and fresh plot with a new main character and characters, what will the plot be exactly and will it be anything interesting or just some other pipedream like a boat or Wellington was?

I have one idea. Since S1 and S2 were about pursuing a better place, maybe now Season 3 can be about Clem finally settling down and raising AJ? And we'll have to make choices based on getting supplies and character encounters. Choosing to ask for assistance, steal from them, help them, etc.

  • Well, none of the endings leave Clem in a better position than where she was earlier. She's:

    1. alone walking through a herd with a baby and no way to take care of it.
    2. in a strange and unknown place where she knows no one and left her only tie to Season 1 in the woods.
    3. with a somewhat mentally unstable Kenny in the cold hoping for Wellington to open up.
    4. with a strange and untrustworthy family at Howe's.
    5. with Jane and a pissed off family most likely bent on revenge.

Also, someone posted on these forums an article in some gaming magazine that said that your ending will play an important role in Season 3, so that's a dead giveaway that Clem will be somewhat involved in Season 3.

But to answer your question as to what Season 3 could be about without Clem, I would like it to take place somewhere other than in the South (maybe somewhere in New York state or something) and you play as a new character, a leader of a certain community who is at war with another community. You have to make decisions that you feel is best for your community and protect your community from this rival group, and people in your community can die based on your decisions.

  • I highly doubt they'd cut/finish off Clementine's story with multiple endings. Those multiple endings are just another reason showing that the possibility is higher to play as her than it is not.

  • The new protagonist is a cowardly teenager named Ryan, who had the perfect life. He had a best friend, girlfriend, loving parents, bright future, but all that was snatched away from him. His best friend betrayed him, his girlfriend left him, his loving parents died and it was all his fault. Left alone in the world, Ryan saves a young girl, Clementine and (Jane/Kenny/Nobody else), as well as a baby named AJ but little did they know, the friendships forged here would only begin a quest for redemption.

After being taken in by a injured Nate, the main group tries to survive bitter scenarios, people, nature, etc. Animals, weather, walkers and people all want them dead and it is their sole duty to protect AJ at all costs. Yet what's the real agenda here? Do they all want to help each other survive? Or are they all set out for their own need for redemption? But the real question is: Who will redeem themselves, and who will not?

  • Same as always.

EP 1:Hey look a new group, major choice at the end, a beloved character might die, some will say that it's not as good as S2 though

EP 2:Everyone will love this EP, and might become the best of the season for some people

EP 3 :Lots of stuff happens, lots of people die and we'll meet the final members of our group

EP 4 : It will dissapoint people, and they'll say that it was the worst of the season

EP 5: Everyone dies except Clem and maybe AJ, awesome emotional ending

I hope that Telltale changes the formula this time though

  • So long as it has meaningful characters that don't get killed off in five seconds or choices that at least give us the illusion that we're changing the plot and/or how characters interact with you I'm happy.

  • Every character we care about will die

  • I don't know, but think it's safe to say Clem at least knows the deal by now:

This'll be her, meeting the new group in Season 3 XD

  • If Clementine's story is to be continued in Season 3, then I doubt that Telltale will have the motivation or time to make each ending a story of its own without tying them all together by the end of Episode 1 or by the next episode, so chances are whatever ending you pick you'll end up with the same outcome and same goal in the end.

This is probably the more cost efficient way to start Season 3, since making five stories separate is too much for a small team to handle.

If Clementine is not the main protagonist, her role in Season 3 can still work as a deuteragonist, with her personality reflecting what choices she made in Season 2. She'll either remain as a hopeful and compassionate survivor, or she'll darken into a selfish and ruthless one, especially towards the main character.

  • Clementine leads a group of hapless adults to safety (well most of them will die. Maybe all of them). They will follow her, and love her.
