Nick Breckon should return as the only writer, even if Season 3 is delayed because of it. In Harm's Way, and Amid The Ruins in particular, were fucking abysmal.

  • I would love for Mark Darin to write in Season 3. I said it somewhere else on this thread, my dream writing team for S3 would be Nick Breckon, Pierre Shorette, and Mark Darin. These 3 and only these 3 should be the writers for Season 3. As for Grant, I wouldn't mind if he was involved, but I would take Darin over him any day.

  • I think it says "Story by Pierre Shorette" at the beginning of Faith.

If it's the story of the episodes you folks disliked, I don't think much would change whether Nick wrote them or not. He was, afterall, the

  • He made some dumb moves, but he wasn't a moron. He seemed to be very calm and planned everything ahead.

  • I am of the same opinion as some on here that I don't care who the writers are of the various episodes, so long as you have a head writer so to speak, who can keep track of things.
Take a Television series like Doctor Who for example. You have multiple writers, but Moffat ( The Head Writer ) is responsible for making sure all the episodes fit into the established storyline. Plus he makes sure characterisations stay more or less the same. If not, then he tweaks them until they are. He also has the last word. If a writer comes up with an episode that isn't up to scratch for whatever reason. He has the power to totally rewrite it if necessary.

This was the major problem with Season Two. It had some brilliant ideas, storylines, plots and sub plots. Problem was, each writer had different ideas on how to continue the story and nothing gelled together.
So in the end you had episodes like Amid the Ruins, which by rights should have been the best in the Season. As it turned out though, much of it was an incomprehensible mess.

It was obvious certain people didn't know what to do, as they threw in the stereotypical Russians just to give us a cliffhanger. That was never meant to happen. The real cliffhanger was supposed to be Carver and/or Carvers minions. Carver wasn't meant to die at all in Episode Three. That was a last minute change to.

No, for Season Three tell-tale need to have a serious think so as to prevent the same mistakes. Either have one writer for all episodes. Or have a head writer, that can watch the others like Hawks.

  • Should he have made sure there was more consistency, yes, and he probably knows that now as well. I don't think Breckon has ever worked on a project like this before, but now that he has a season of this game under his belt, he can learn from the mistakes that were made from this season such as the inconsistencies and try to get the writers on the same page. Even if not as head writer, he was still a great writer for the game, episodes like AHD and NGB prove that. And besides, Telltale can just tell Breckon, "Listen, you need to make sure your writers are on the same page, you need to watch them like Hawks so that the season plays out like you want it."

And what you're saying about Carver contradicts what someone else said on this thread. Someone said that Carver's role became bigger after Michael Madsen was cast for the part.

  • He is the best since Vanaman left, in my opinion. This is the guy Vanaman recommended and pushed for to be head writer when he left.
