Mid-Season Finale Thoughts

So what did you guys think about the mid-season finale? I thought it wasn't half bad, but a bit slow for a mid-season finale. But poor Beth :(

  • Very sad 'In memormiam' quote.

  • I thought it was awesome. But fuck AMC for ruining my life for the 20th time now. Rest in peperoni Beth.

  • Thanks to the TWD Facebook page I got spoiled on Beth's death... The episode now won't have the same effect on me as it should have. :( (I know, I shouldn't be on Facebook while they were airing the episode but TWD Facebook page NEVER spoiled anything before leaving a week or so for people to see it, so it got me off guard...)

I felt it was a bit slow, but great nonetheless, and it really caught me off guard, I couldn't believe it. But it looks like, based on the bullet path because you see a bullet hole directly on her forehead, that it was shot straight, not at an angle, and Dawn looks like she's mouthing, "It wasn't me," before Daryl shot her. Was it Dawn or a cop behind her, I don't know, maybe it was just blood, but it looked like a bullet hole on Beth's forehead.

    Also, Morgan's back, again.

  • Awful. Worst episode this season.

  • I thought it was a little slow honestly, but the last 5 minutes is still making me rattle.

  • Slabtown has that title in my opinion, but to each his own.

I think all the buildup was a little unnecessary just to pull something like that :/

I'm probably just bitter that Beth was killed off.

Somebody posted this like during season 3 and it's still true.

    Good Beginning: The Lamson Scene

    Nothing Happens

Someone does something stupid: Gabriel at the school

Zombies! : Zombies chasing Gabriel to the church and Michonne and Carl help to kill them and escape etc.

Why do I even watch this show: I got nothing here but it was pretty slow

Crazy Cliffhanger need to watch next episode: Beth's Death

R.I.P Beth. I didn't want them to but I have to admit that the shock value was great. Just one thing I'm confused about. The map said to Rick to go to Washington, so Morgan thinks he's there. Is he going to go to Washington? Eugene doesn't have the cure so Rick's group doesn't have any reason to go to Washington, so I guess they won't meet up?... Yet?

  • This might sound weird...

    But uhh...

On my facebook page, I put a spoiler warning before one of my posts, and someone said how they got spoiled...

I am erm.. Hoping this wasn't you.

  • Nah, it wasn't me, I got spoiled by the official Walking Dead Facebook page... They never spoiled anything, until now...

What a lackluster episode. I put far too much faith in Gimple..honestly, it's so unoriginal to not only kill off another Greene in the mid-season finale, but to kill off the only innocent and hopeful character left. Now everyone is cynical and brutal, everyone thinks the world has gone to shit, how freakin' unforeseeable for all the characters to have this outlook in a show taking place in the ZA. Yeah, never seen that before, except in pretty much every single show/movie/book about the ZA. I was aware of how predictable killing Beth would be, but I had hoped Gimple would see that, and throw everyone for a loop by killing off a character that was presumed to be safe. Instead, he takes the safe, and not to mention, incredibly predictable/boring route. It would have been so interesting to keep Beth alive, a character that we've seen since season 2, to finally get a chance to know her, to watch her grow, it would have been so refreshing to learn more about her. But instead, we're left with characters that are no doubt interesting, but we've already seen them grow for the last 5 years, we know almost everything about them. Losing another innocent, especially another character that Daryl believed was alive and would survive is so damn repetitive (ex; Sophia). I won't lie, I'm very disappointed in both Gimple and the show right now. I don't even care about the hiatus at the moment, if anything, I need this break from the show. Season 4 will always be one of my favorite seasons, but I can no longer say that about season 5.

I had hoped Gimple would be able to fill Daranbont's shoes. I was sorely mistaken.

I like to daydream and imagine how good the show would be if Frank Darabont didn't get fired.

  • I think they wasted beth to be honest, All those other charcaters who honestly arnt really doing anything and they kill the only on with any real development this season.

I get what they were going for but they should of killed someone else in my opinion

  • I love how they referred the beginning to one of the comics.

And I teared up when Beth died. ;-; I expected her to, but not like that, dude. Not like that.

  • I've never liked Beth, but... Maggie and Daryl breaking down crying got me. I have younger sister, and it was hard not to think about her instead of Beth.

I'm okay with the longer break.

I thought she was mouthing "I didn't mean it," because she fired out of shock for being stabbed.

Dawn shot her up through her head. I guess she had blood on her forehead because, a) heads bleed a lot b) I don't think AMC wants to show her with her jaw shot up.

I felt it was a bit slow, but great nonetheless, and it really caught me off guard, I couldn't believe it. But it looks like, based on the b

  • So before Beth stabbed Dawn, she said "I get it now."

    I don't. Somebody please explain...

  • Beth you will be missed. :(

  • Completely surprised Rick didn't kill everyone in that hospital. I kinda like how Beth went out like a boss, though. Tense situation, and she has the cojones to try and kill Dawn. Gotta love it. Execution leaves a little to be desired, though. Gonna miss her, but love how she left her mark on each one of the original group members.

  • R.I.P Beth

    Just why? WHYYYYYY

When I got the news (I couldn't watch the Episode yet but had to know), I just was crushed inside. I thought it would be Carol...

...and it should have been. No hate against Carol, but Beth deserved it less than her (and I know that doesn't count for much, but still).

I think it's about Dawn and her belief that everyone come back to the utopian hospital sooner or later.

  • Know what? I think Dawn is sorta evolving into a cool character. I think maybe she will join the group. That would be cool as I see her motives.

    At the end

ASDWAFEDSHTRDJHYDRTJ FUCK YOOOOUUUUU I FUCKING HATE YOU DAWN!!! I DON'T FUCKING CARE IF IT WAS AN ACCIDENT! UGHHH!!!!

I liked Beth but its her own fucking fault. They were all about to leave the hospital and then she got mad?Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?seriously?Im not even mad at Dawn, what the actual fuck Beth?Did noah really worth getting you killed? -_-

  • That episode wasn't great for me. What really ruined it was when Michonne was breaking the church door with an axe and you could see the baby Judith ... err the doll of the baby going crazy on her back LOL. That hand was waving around like a ragdoll and while I was laughing my ass off I thought how could no one notice this in editing and it could have been done better (give Judith to Carl derr!). Also a lot of talking about our feelings filler which was lame, but that intro was fucking awesome.

  • I wish Frank was back too...

I like to daydream and imagine how good the show would be if Frank Darabont didn't get fired.

  • This is what made her death even more disappointing. It didn't really mean much. It was just cheap shock value (as in the circumstances of her death, not the actual death itself).

Judging from the boldness of her actions (triggered by the Noah issue), I would assume that Beth was basically saying that Dawn needed to die in order to break the hospital's corrupted agenda. She didn't care what happened to herself, she just did what she thought she had to do. Looking at how the hospital crew reacted to Dawn's death, I would say this falls in line with what the writers were trying to push.

  • Great episode. The show has officially surpassed the game for me.

  • I think it had more to do with Dawn being so smug and in control and Beth refusing to let her get her way in the end. When Dawn made a point to get Noah back, Beth had enough. I don't think she believed she was going to die but she had every intention of cutting that bitch.

  • Cynical, and reluctantly brutal. He talks about how getting to Terminus killed him, the guy is so detached , he's more like a walking corpse sometimes. He clings to not wanting to resort to violence, but I believe that is him holding back his true nature, which he shows early season 4, and later when he kills 2-3 walkers with his bare hands and beats a man nearly to death while shouting "I won't!". So yeah, everyone is still cynical and brutal.
