Aaron is coming.

Kirkman said on Talking Dead that a gay character will be introduced in the second half. Alexandria is almost upon us.

  • Are they even going to Washington?

  • I doubt it, they'll probably keep it set in Georgia and move Alexandria, the Saviors, etc. to Georgia. I mean, there's no need to go to Washington anymore, Eugene already revealed he was lying.

  • There's WAYYYYYY too many issues in Alexandria for them not to go. Fun fact, I go to high school in Alexandria.

  • Well in the comics they were about one day away, so no reason not to go at that point, but now they're still in Georgia so no reason to go.

Yes, because the world of The Walking Dead has only one gay guy in it.

Also, Tara is gay, they apparently just decided to ignore that this season.

Wait a minute, does that mean she was looking at Rosita in the Book Store? (We all know she took a peek.) Well, there's a fanfiction waiting to happen...

  • Omg!!!!!! not gay char!!!!

People dont hate gay characters they hate charcaters who are just there to be gay, same with characters who are just there to be black. I honestly thought Tara was like that last year but they improved her this season

  • Ah, but lots of people say every single gay character is just there to be gay. That's literally what they see every time they meet a gay character.

So it basically amounts to the same thing.

For example, people complained about Walter and Matthew as being included. Either they were complaining about them being just there to be gay - which would be absurd as it isnt even stated - or they're just hating on it.

People still view the presence of homosexuals as a political statement as opposed to a simple fact of life, unfortunately.

  • I never heard one person complain about Walter and Matthew being gay. They were well written characters, which most gays aren't, which is why people think gays are in just for the sake of being gay.

  • ....O.o

This is literally the only comment about homosexuality I've made in weeks.

  • It will be a lesbian version of Aaron , so Tara can be in screen for something :P

  • I honestly thought Tara was like that last year but they improved her this season

That's kind of strange, considering Tara actually had a storyline last season. Her relationship was actually kept pretty hush hush compared to all the straight couples making out every other second. But in any case, she had a story that didn't hinge on her being gay.

This season has certainly made me love Tara and her dorkiness, but while she provides some levity, she's more in the "just there" camp than before. The only difference is that she hasn't had a reason to make any reference to her homosexuality now like she did just those two times in season 4 (with Eugene and then referring to her girlfriend's death to Glenn).

  • We weren't talking about Game of Thrones, but why are you disappointed?

    No GoT jokes? I'm disappointed.

Well, Kirkman said it's a gay character from the comics. That only leaves a few options at this point in the story.

Also, they're not "ignoring" it, there's just no reason for there to be any conversations or plotlines surrounding it at this point in time. One of the biggest mistakes writers make with gay characters is making their sexuality the sole focus of their character. Tara's always been more than that.

That said, Tara's a sweetheart and I totally demand happiness for her. :P

I don't think so because they have the right to change character genders. This girl still has to show up in the show, and it came from spoiler dead page. Details on her are being secrete, but I think she plays aaron.

    Rosemary, Aaron is a boy.

  • Your kidding right?

    First episode

Hey you know i had a girfriend who i lost, a girlfriend.... A GIRLFRIEND

    Second episode

Hey random lady your hot... (5 seconds later) shit now we're together boo yah. P.s im a lesbian

    Third episode

No lesbian lover you died, after all that developed relationship we had.

The rest of the season she got better but still brought it up constantly in conversations so she just felt like a person they forced in for representation.

This season shes gay but thats only a part of who she is, shes funny, she makes jokes shes a bit of a dork. The fact shes gay is still there (such as the stuff with rosita) but its not shoved in your face constantly. I like her character as there is something to like.

  • I actually agree with you, @RosemaryTWDFan

I haven't caught up with the show yet, but they could change the gender of a character

However, Kirkman said 'gay', and that is a word for male homosexuals. For females, it would be lesbian.

So, I think the character will be male, still no reason to be assholes you guys :/
