Why didn't we get the choice to shoot up into the air?
I think it would've been better if we got that option, they stopped, AJ cried, Jane got him and then both Kenny and Jane could confront their issues at the same time. The rejected party watching Clem and X walk away would be pretty impactful or leaving them both and leaving it up to our imaginations what happens when Clem leaves.
Regardless being allowed to shoot, but only at Kenny seems out of character, or just plain...lazy. I like the episode, but, when I think about it, it doesn't make sense that "Shoot into the air!" wasn't an option.

Have you ever played Spec Ops: The Line? Minor Spoilers follow.
There was a point where a mob was closing in and the game implied that you had to gun them down or get beat to death. I attempted shooting in the air before resulting to shooting an unarmed mob (even if they had the intention of lynching me). To my surprise, it worked. The mob scattered, and a non-violent solution wasn't even presented as an option. I guess, due to Telltale's games not being third person shooters, choices can't really be hidden and require creativity
An option to shoot in the air would've been nice, and I'm curious whether it would've let to a peaceful resolution or just prolonged the inevitable.
I'm not exactly convinced that it would've done anything given the situation
Something tells me a guy like Kenny, who is more or less in a state of pure unadulterated rage, and hellbent on sinking a knife straight through Jane's sternum, would remotely care about a warning shot in the moment
If someone is that pissed off, there's next to nothing that will get them to stop
For all you know, the shot could distract Jane, allowing him a window of opportunity to stab her.
Shooting just above his head would give a good scare; he'd stop for sure.
Great game to mention, and that's exactly the kind of thing I'm talking about. Having it as an option when two friends are fighting makes more sense than having it in that situation, yet in The Line, a 3rd person shooter, we can try to be peaceful, while in a TWD, a game built on DIALOGUE, I'm forced to either kill or let a friend kill another.
He's a guy that's always angry, with extreme tunnel-vision, in a world where getting shot at is a common occurrence. It's hard to say if one bullet whizzing past his head when he's in berserk mode would do much.
He didn't seem to care all that much when a guy was taking potshots at him with a fully automatic weapon a day ago. He just kept talking shit and taking potshots back.
Yet he notices Rebecca turning?
Because the plot demands it.
But I agree that it does seem kind of out of character. We should have the option to shoot Jane as well. You get a second chance to kill Kenny, why not a chance to kill Jane when you find AJ, I would have gladly done that in my other play through.
I wouldn't kill Jane, because, even tho she created the situation, the situation is one that was very possible, if not inevitable (AJ dying and Kenny going in a rage).
It's bad writing why that baby didn't die before the end of season.
Maybe because they have a use for him in Season 3, you don't know.
That doesn't excuse bad writing. Then nine day time skip at the end is ridiculous, in that we are suppose to believe than a newborn survived that long without food.

I agree Metallica, the main reason we didn't get the option to shoot into the air was because of the story itself. And I also agree we should have had the option to [Shoot Kenny] or [Shoot Jane]. I felt the option to [Look Away] was actually confusing in the moment. Shooting Kenny was obvious what would happen, Look Away doesn't give an immediately clear answer what would happen, or it should have been [Let Kenny kill Jane]
Regardless what we choose, one or the other would have died so just making the options more clear would have been better!

And then assuming "Lol they found stuff off-screen" is just a bad compromise, because then EVERY insurmountable crisis can be solved with a time-skip.
How did Kenny survive? I GOT LUCKY LOL. How did Luke manage to run across an entire state in the space of a day? NO ONE CARES. How did Sarita become the only person who got bitten in the Storm, despite not running like the other idiots? WHO CARES LET KENNY RAGE AT YOU. Why did no one lift a finger to save Sarah? AWW BABY. How come nobody starves at the observation deck despite staying there with no food? WHO CARES MIKE AND BONNIE AREN'T HUMAN. How did Clem survive getting shot through the arm? THE BULLET PASSED RIGHT THRU LOL.
It becomes really hard to care for characters when the stakes raised never affect them. They remain characters, not people.
Meanwhile, disabled people simply can't handle the apocalypse because it's unrealistic.
Walking Dead always demands a sacrifice of a character that we like, for the next season.
I would have liked if you shot in the air. Kenny paused for a second and during this time Jane punched him in the face and SHE got the knife and turned over so she was over Kenny with the knife. The choice changes to [Shoot Jane] [Look Away] and a different scene plays with a sorrowful Jane on her deathbed if you shot her.
Either that, or they're moustache twirling villains who deserve no redemption. Oh the humanity.
But then why would she do that when she knows that Clementine has a gun in her hands? I doubt she'd be that stupid to assume that Clementine will let her murder Kenny.
As disapointed as you can be, you should keep in mind that Clementine is not a professional killer, and there's still a lot to learn.
Its funny, when i was in Iraq, We had bullets whiz past our heads and everyone i noticed.. I was like "oh shit." WTF am i doing here.
Because it was the heat of the moment. As much as I would love this option and have everyone live and walk towards a rainbow during a sun rising that option would require more writing for more endings with different variations and would be a nightmare to make. I'm sure over half the people here didn't think about wanting to do this when Clem picked up that gun.

Although to be completely fair, I wouldn't put it past the writers to use that as a possible reason
It's becausr a story is already "written" they just let u choose which people u will bring with you...because there has to be connection to next season
Because that wouldn't even work, Kenny and Jane were at the point of killing each other right then, you really expected them to just stop if you fire a shot in the air, as well as talk it out? I'm not sure if you know but Kenny isn't a person to just talk out his problems, and I doubt Jane is either.
Because the plot demands it.
