What a coincidence. I just got finished writing an ginormous post, that took an hour to write, about why I think Season 2 is just as good as the first.
I thought it was better than season 1 cause I simply found it more enjoyable. Clementine was also a huge reason, I also found a lot of the characters much more interesting.
What is with all these Season 2 Defending threads?
EDIT: wrong post lol soz
I believe that Season 2 is at least as good as Season 1, but I can also see a lot of wasted potential in the season as well.
As someone who has barely any knowledge of what's considered good storytelling, never read a good book or watched a great movie, I liked Season 2 more than Season 1 because of its mediocre story, underdeveloped characters, short length and others. Omid's death in the beginning was a complete masterpiece, you say shock value? i say genius writing, kudos to Breckon for that one, I have NO idea how he came up with that.
One of the best things about Season 2 is the time skip. People say we should have seen the 16 months because of character development but that is not true. The time skip made Clementine a grown up badass, that is character development. For me this is the biggest reason that Season 2 is so much much better than Season 1.
I liked the characters in Season 2 more than the Season 1 characters because they were so interesting and unique. Yeah they died too fast but that's what made them so interesting and unique in the first place. Their deaths are so quick and unexpected and that's a lot of fun xD.
There's a lot more reasons that make Season 2 better than Season 1 but those are the biggest for me
Think of this as a trend. A lot of things become trends here. When episode 5 came out it was all about the really ugly Kenny/Jane debates and Arvo. It quieted down, with a few things here and there, and then it suddenly flared up again last week. It's like watching a little society. I'm curious to see what happens next.
It sure is...I think it is fun observing these forums.
Yeah, but this just seems really random
Eh, some trends are like trucks that come around a bend and hit you out of nowhere. Like the 80s fashion.
Also, those Jane/Kenny and Arvo debates flared out of nowhere as well. It's really odd.
It's k fren
Some days it's a great society, other days it's "Lord of the Flies".
jaja yeah i read it after posting this, cool.
so you feel the same way that some of us felt that liked the season, when almost everyday, and still is, a thread about a how S2 was a piece of shit.
The only thing I find wrong with this Season is the lack of character development. That's all.
agree. and i think it had to do with something to do with the time cut of the episodes. hopefully they can do the 2 hour episodes again. or maybe add an extra one to the season like game of thrones. BTW how long was the 1st episode of the GoT???
I don't remember. I think is was an hour an a half, though.
Thats a pretty big fault for a story driven game...
And I wish thats all that was wrong with S2
I did say that it's what I find wrong.
I think it's a snowball effect. Let's imagine a Kenny/Jane thread is created, people will obviously get angry at eachover and will want to express their opinions about it. But instead of posting a long post on that one thread, they create another one because they have different points and/or opinions. And it'll go on until, like any trends, it dies maybe because of an another trend or just because there's nothing left that hasn't been discussed already.
That's just my analysis of it anyways.
I think these threads are coming at the perfect time, I noticed in the past few days that everywhere I go (GoT subforum, TFTBL subforum hell any subforum on here) that I can find tons of posts just saying that TWD S2 was garbage. This is refreshing to finally see someone who actually likes it.
you're never going to let it slide are you?
Keep going your doing great.
There are just so many great moments in this game especially in Season 2. From character development and their interactions with one another that I found so well done compared to most AAA games these days that constantly handle it so poorly. I also enjoy Clementine growing up from an adorable little girl into a strong capable survivor that doesn't seem too cliché. Plus as an added bonus the game has a soundtrack that fits so well with TWD universe and all the moments of happiness and sadness that come along with it. There is plenty more that impressed me about this game, but those are some major reasons why I will defend this game.
really?? damn, so they gonna keep that up:/... i look at TFTB and i thought it was great. and i think that was one of the reasons why it was so successful.
I couldn't give five flying fucks flying over give-a-fuck bay about episode length
Half of the playtime that made Season 1 episodes so long were the puzzles. Not only were they unnecessary busy-work, they successfully convinced you people that the episodes were longer than they actually are. Go back and play them doing all the puzzles as quick as you can, you'll shave like 30 minutes off of an episode easily. 30 minutes, mind you, that could have been spent further developing characters, or progressing the story a little bit quicker, but no, of course no one is going to complain about that, because it's too fun to scapegoat Season 2 for everything when Season 1 also made dumb and/or needless design decisions
Of all the things you could actually complain about with the second season, people choose to complain about the episode length? And act like Season 1 wasn't just artificially longer due to puzzles and other unnecessary bloat? Really?
